And the word“LYON” embossed onto the drawer ... moreassembly. The finish is a mix of light green paint. And patches of dark green paint, and a fair amount of rust spots throughout. The drawer assembly is grey. The wooden top is a butcher block style. Some of the pieces of wood on the top are slightly warped or uneven, and as you can see in the photos, the finish and patina of the wood top is very patchy and has various shades of wood colors. The right end of the wood top is a lighter shade than the rest of the top– it was sitting outside with another table covering most of it except the area on the right, and is a bit faded. The entire top could be sanded and refinished, but I’ve left it original. It measures approximately 72.5” x 35” and is 34” high. This sale is for pickup only from my home in Marietta. GA 30064. Hello. This is a beautiful set of antique cast iron school desk legs from Grand Rapids Furniture Co. out of Michigan. They have really nice ornate patterns and awesome embossment proudly displaying their origin. These come from a time when quality mattered and things lasted for more than a few months of use. They are commonly being used for tables, and various forms of stands. The bottom shelf(as seen in the pics) folds up. My wife loves them as plant stands, a great time to pull out those special pieces of board you have been saving. I have 5 sets of these, all exactly the same, but would prefer not to combine shipping for fear that they will get damaged, it's just too much weight and too many pieces in one box. Both pieces have been carefully repainted and refinished, and they are gorgeous! Super cute bunny schoolroom scene painted on the desk top.which is adjustable up and down to make it taller. The pictures really don't do it justice, it is a quality piece that someone painstakingly restored. Desk top does not open, there is an opening in the back(where the student sits) that is all metal. Awesome Antique 1880s- 1907 Cast Iron School Desk. Ornate cast iron is more intricate of a design than most. This is a larger sized desk. Not one of the smaller desks. This is in great antique shape overall, and is still attached to floor boards. Cast iron pieces have the following identifiers. I have not found a city or state but I have not turned it over. As it is heavy. Right leg underside: 2R Left left underside: 1-2-L Underside of left leg and also on left upper side plate: Patent No 478786 I think this may be from 1881. Grand Rapids Michigan but that is only because I saw another one that looked different, with the same patent no. but that only means it is using the same patent. Not that it is made at that time. This looks to be an older desk than the ones I have seen from MI or IL. So I have no real idea. And I would appreciate any ... morehelp identifying. It is a very nice desk at any rate, and I love the ornate scrolls and cast carvings. Would look exceptional if it is refinished. A very nice vintage piece that will look great in any home. As found at estate sale from garage. Dust and all. 23" tall desk top, back of seat is 26 1/2" tall. Desk top is 22" x 15. 26" overall length. Desk tilts and entire top goes up and down to adjust as child grows, it has a 3" up and down play by loosening 2 round knobs on side. The top also slants at an angle and is adjustable. I could not find a makers name on it. Except the ink well is made by Henry Wilkes Bakelite, it has a glass well. This desk will last a lifetime and will be passed down from generation to generation. It's a great investment. Picture your children sitting in it for pictures every year to see them growing up.

Antique 1800's Chandler School Desk & Haywood Desk Chair Cast Metal Legs & Base
Up for auction is an incredible survivor set of an antique 1800's schoolhouse desk and chair set in maple. This set is in very original condition with original finish and initials carved. The ink well is missing but that is about it. These go very well together and came from the same source although I cannot verify they originally worked together. The desk is marked"Chandler" and"The Boston" on the cast iron legs. There are no other markings. The bentwood chair is in excellent condition and marked"Haywood 3 Eclipse" There are signs that both desk and chair cast iron areas were once gloss black enamel. These would look so cool if repainted. No serious rust but the black is mostly gone. A wire wheel on a drill would make quick work of this. The desk measures 24" wide x 16" deep x 30" tall. There ... moreare height adjusters on the legs. The chair measures 31 1/2" tall x 16" wide x 16" deep. There is an adjustment on this too. Both desk and chair are designed to be bolted to the floor. Hello. This is a beautiful set(1 pair) of antique cast iron school desk legs from Grand Rapids Furniture Co. out of Michigan. They have really nice ornate patterns and awesome embossment proudly displaying their origin. These come from a time when quality mattered and things lasted for more than a few months of use. They are commonly being used for tables, and various forms of stands. The bottom shelf(as seen in the pics) folds up. My wife loves them as plant stands, a great time to pull out those special pieces of board you have been saving. I have 5 sets of these, all almost exactly the same.These legs weigh about 21 lbs. total per pair. The top shelf is 22" high(from the ground) and 11" wide. The bottom shelf is 12" high and 9" wide. Antique Vintage Child's Wood School Desk Bench Chair - very nice condition!
This very nice late1800s school desk will look great anywhere in your home. The bench seats folds up. The desktop has a hole for inkwell and a groove for pencils. Very nice ornate wrought iron legs add to the beauty. Inscribed on the leg are the patent dates from 1881. 1890, and 1891. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos but the words are much clearer than these pictures show. There are many uses for these school desks as a decoration or actual use in your house. I have seen some used as very nice plant stands. This desk is in great shape for it's age with some minor scratches and aging. Antique Dovetailed School Master's Desk Four Drawers
For auction is a great old antique school master's desk that is hand dovetailed on all four corner joints. It is constructed mostly from poplar with some white pine but it is finished in such a way that you have to look closely to determine which wood is which. The writing surface is pine and to has bread boards on each end to prevent it from warping.The hinges for the top are not original but could be replaced very easily. The desk has had some professional repairs to it but non recently. Four holes in the top have been plugged and one leg has been jointed probably due to breakage of the original leg. Both these repair. That are shown in my pictures, were very well done. The original lock is still present but I do not have a key that fits it. The interior of the desk is stained from use. There are pigeon holes and four drawers, each ... moreof which is also dovetailed. Square nails were used to secure the drawer bottoms. Most desks like this one with tall legs, have been damaged over time by someone dragging the desk and weakening one or more of the legs. This one is very sturdy, although it might have been that that necessitated the leg repair mentioned earlier. The desk is 36 3/4" wide and 24 1/2" deep. It is 33 1/2" tall at the front and 40 1/2" tall at the back. This item is for pick up only at my home near Delaware Water Gap Pennsylvania just off route 80. I have had success with a shipping company about 30 miles away. For $25. I will drop the desk off but it is up to the purchaser to make payment arrangements before I drop it off. This shipper is pretty good at estimating the cost of shipping so you know what you're in for before you bid. If serious, let me know and I'll supply the name and phone number.

Antique/Vintage CAST IRON *ECLIPSE* SCHOOL DESK FRAME Left Side STEAM PUNK
This item is the left side of the cast iron frame of an Eclipse Brand school desk which was in common use after the turn of the century. The desks were two pieces with each section being both the front half of one desk& the rear half of a second desk. One student sat on the seat portion of one and worked in the desk section of another. The piece has a patina of rust which can be cleaned by either submersion or sandblasting if it being used to repair a desk. The joint of the seat bracket is currently frozen but should be easily releasable with common solvent products such as WD40. The piece could also be used in a variety of ways as a decorator piece such as a wall hanging or in some form of steam punk creation. The piece measures about 28" x 28" in an approximate measurement of the distance from the front of the seat bracket ... moreto the rear of the desk section. It weighs about 16 pounds. There are no broken sections of the metal and the word"Eclipse" is fully intact. The bolt holes for possible floor mounting are intact.
