Antique School Desk Bench/ End Seat ASC
A solid maple. Hard-to-find, end seat from a row of school desks made by the American Seating Company. This model began production in 1911. Old school desks were bolted to oak runners in long rows of 10. Only the lalst desk of the 10 had the single seat, allowing a student to sit and use the desk ahead. These are relatively rare. The wood is maple and will refinish or paint nicely. The metal can also be painted, and this one could stand a wire brushing to remove light rust before painting. If used for a child, this seat should be attached to some sort of runner, the floor, or a board to avoid tipping. Top of back stands 26" tall, seat measures 14 1/2 at the front and 12 1/2" at the rear. The seat is 11 2/8" deep. Overall the entire seat is around 18 1/2" deep. Some pictures show the seat with a school desk refinished years ... moreago. NOT included, which shows how well the wood will refinish. This is for local pickup, but will work with you if you pay separately for a shipper to pack& ship. One shipper in Elizabethtown, KY is the UPS store, 270-769-1530. From the American Seating Company brochure: Model 101. 1911. The American Tubular Combination Desk made school furniture history. It was the first of its kind made from heavy-guage rolled-strip steel that was formed into riangular tubing for strength. The hinges were noiseless and boltless for a non-wearing construction. These desks were second to none in economy, durability, rigidity, and design.

Vintage Retro Mid Century Folding School Desk Chair Chrome Vinyl Antique Child's
Really neat vintage folding school desk and chair. This could be used for a smaller child all the way up through teenage years. Measures 7 by 20 by 41 when it's folded up. Fully extended it measures 25 by 27 by 20. Seat is 18 1/2 inches high. Overall it's in very good condition. Chrome is in nice shape with some minor surface oxidation. Formica top has some scratches and the plastic band around the edge is a bit loose. Vinyl has a small hole in seat. See photos. I have never seen another one of these!

A vintage brass or bronze bell with wooden handle. Coming from a 3 generation's of the teachers family. Measures 3 1/2" in diameter at the widest point on bell and 6 1/4" height including handle. Original steel clapper(tested by magnet) attached with double sided hook. Held by the center steel rod all the way to top of the handle. Handle seems wobbled but it's NOT loose. It all holds together by the center metal rod. While you turn the top square metal part. You can see from inside the bell the hook turns to the same direction) One of the family member explained to me, this wobbled one actually makes better sound then the other style. Yes. Beautiful tone when steel hits the brass. While doing a little remodeling to my home and having to move everything around. I realized I have far too much stuff. So I will be listing several items for sale. Please check out my other items. This is an extremely rare antique schoolhouse, or possibly a university, desk. It is hand hewn solid wood, very thick for todays standards. It was manufactured by the George M. Hammer Co. Ltd. in Strand London in the late 1800's or possibly the VERY early 1900's. They were builders of church and school furniture in England. It still has the brass ink well cover as shown in the pictures and also still has the porcelain casters. The desk part slide in and out for comfort and fit. The bas is 34" long, 11" wide in the front and 14" wide in the back. The desk section measures 22" long, 19" wide, 10" tall in the back ... moreand 6" tall in the front. It is 38" tall in the back. It is missing one small wood brace as shown in the pictures. I have had a lot of school desks over the years but this is by far the most unique and rare I have ever found.

Antique - arts & crafts - cast-iron & oak - school desk & chair combo
A lovely example of a by gone era. This may in fact be late 19th century. But I strongly suspect it's very early 20th century. It's cast-iron and Oak. Quite heavy for it's size. As seen in the photos, Lettering appears as"Eclipse" 5" twice per side& Cleveland" The seat and desk heights are fully adjustable by a range of about 6 1/2" It must have been touched up or restored at some point with flat black paint, because it has no sign of being adjusted. Other marking in a circle: T Kundtz Cleave O" and further numbers"5& 6 LB" The desktop is about 19-1/2" x 12" for scale. The height of the highest point of the desktop, as it is shown, is about 24" It's quite a nice piece for an early collector. Just that glue line is the only really flaw. The cast-iron shape and super ... moretight old grown grain of the Oak is just not seen or available any more. This matches any arts& crafts era(1890's- 1930's) home perfectly. For auction is a sweet little antique student school desk with a pull out drawer underneath. I was told it is probably from the early 1900's. But I'm not quite sure. It is very heavy and constructed of both wood and metal, which I believe is painted cast iron because of its weight. The metal has rust throughout and the top wooden part of the desk does have some movement. It appears the connecting bar underneath has snapped and will need to be soldered. But overall, this little school desk looks nice, even the way it is. The wood is still in great shape. Hard to come by one like this. Would make a nice photography prop for youngsters. It measures@24.5" high to the top of the seat(the back of chair) and the seat itself sits at@11.5" The wood tray measures@ 20" x 14" at the widest points. It has some numbers marked on them 3-4 on both and then after R and L for right and left There is some primitive wear and part of one of the feet is missing but over all in good antique condition. Andrews Co: This furniture company was founded in 1865 by Alfred H. Andrews. A Connecticut native who moved to Chicago in 1857. By the end of the 1860s, Andrews employed about 70 men, who made about $150,000 worth of furniture each year. By the beginning of the 1880s, A. H. Andrews& Co. had become the largest firm in the city's robust furniture industry, employing about 500 people and manufacturing about $600,000 worth of school and office furniture each year. Antique School Desk, Ornate, Early Art -Deco, Pre 1910 to Post 1900. Vintage.
This antique school desk has the correct aging of being made between 1900 and 1910. The desk has ornate Art Deco cast iron designs and fitted groved wood surfaces. The desk is all orginal exsept one of the two screws in the underneath of the wooden Back Rest. The desk is 25 inches tall. The horizontal leangth from the front of the bench seat to the back of the desk top is 25 and 1/2 inches. The leangth across the desk top is 18 and 3/4 inches. The desk has a patent number that is little difficult to readbut appears to be 478786. There is not maker name on the desk. The desk holds together well. The desk is heavy and should be handled by the cast Iron when moved. Please view all wear in the photographs before buying. They came from a Racine or Kenosha. Wisconsin school. The desks come in two parts. One part is two desks with two chairs. The under shelf of one of the desks is missing. Second part is a folding chair. All three chairs fold up. The height is roughly 28" at the highest point. Desks are about 21" wide and length is about 58" long with seat folded. PICK UP ONLY! I donated my truck to charity so I can't deliver this item. I'm about 75 miles north of NYC in the beautiful Hudson Valley.

This is an original child's school desk from the Detroit Board of Education. The bottom of the desk is marked" Detroit Board of Education No. 5" The desk is in unrestored original condition. Just as the last student left it so long ago. The desk top is solid wood with an ink well hole and pencil groove. I am guessing it is from the early 1900's. It has a metal frame and wooden seat. It is in really great condition for it's age. The wood is all intact with no rot and the metal only has surface rust in spots. This is a pair of really nice desks that came from the original McGuffey school in Oxford Ohio. Famous for the McGuffey readers. McGuffey taught in Oxford Ohio and was a revolutionary educator with new ideas on how to teach children. Desk are made by landslow fowler company out of Rochester NY from the early 1900s. Smaller is probably for a 1st or 2nd grader. Larger one for a 3rd or 4th grader. Approximately 100 years old. Adjustable tilt top. Nice drawer. Very sturdy. Great aesthetics.
