This is a beautiful antique book shelf that was once attached to the top of an old deck. This piece is approximately c1900 and I think it is oak. The ends are carved leaves and berries. The black dots you may see are from my camera lens. I do not see any repair s or real issues. When I saved old ink wells and antique books it was set up as a victorian desk and bookcase complete with inkwell and quill pen. When I wanted to use it(as it is shown) to display my green depression glass, the glass shelves displayed that beautifully. It is a solid oak piece with all the original hardware and original beveled mirror. We did add the glass shelves. They were missing when we purchased this piece many years ago. It has a drop leave desk that hides all the little cubbies and small drawer. There is a storage closet and a larger drawer under the drop leave desk. We have the original key and it still works. It works fine on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works fine on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. The piece is numbered with"172" carved into the wood inside the large storage area under the desk top. First of all. I am no expert on antiques, however I have been working in furniture retail all my life and admire great quality and craftsmanship as this chair offers. I believe it has been made entirely of white oak and some of the pieces appear to be quartersawn. They have very large stripes which leads me to believe it to be older than 100yrs or close to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I will change my listing. As stated before, I'm no expert. I have looked all over for a gustov stickler stamp hoping this chair to be worth 10's of thousands of dollars but he prob didn't make many student chairs. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The back looks like simple 3 slat back design. It has 2 sets of stretchers with square tenons between each legs. They are all structurally sound. I cannot see any repairs on it at all. ANTIQUE OAK DRAFTING TABLE BASE STEAMPUNK GREAT FOR DESK BAR TABLE
This is a nice drafting table base. The height is adjustable. It extends from 31" tall to 41" tall. The base is 30" wide and 25 1/2" deep. There is one screw missing. It is on the side and the table is functional without it. Also. There is a chip on the underside of one of the wood pieces, see the last picture, it isn't visible from the top, you have to turn the base over to see it. There are normal scratches and scuffs. We didn't polish it but I think it would really come alive with some Liquid Gold. Overall it is still an attractive and very useable table base. We will disassemble it for shipping. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to ship it.

Unusual size, this box measures 5 3/4" wide x 5 7/8" deep x 4 1/4" tall. The box is constructed of 1/4" thick oak and uses fingerjoints for strength. Inside measurements are 5 1/8" wide x 5 3/8" deep by 3 5/8" tall. Made for 5" x 3" index cards. Brass colored metal hinges are in good working order. Antique Circa 1890’s Oak Secretary– Secretariat with a glass front Hutch Cabinet and front drop desk. It is wonderfully Crafted using solid quarter saw oak. Its elegant hand carved ribbon and floral edging motif with a candle shelf and beveled glass mirror are an eye catcher. The cabinet is designed with five shelves; four of them are adjustable with the bottom stationary. The secretariat section is designed with a drop/ pulls down desk top. One drawer and a lower cabinet. The inside of the desk has a multi wooden slot organizer. It measures 69” high x 13 ¾” deep x 39 ¾” wide. All the doors and one drawer maintain their original locks. It is missing three of its front lock plates. The one drawer does have its original hardware. Two handles and one lock face. It maintains a warm aged oak finish. There does appear to be some ware ... moreto its finish with a few scratch marks to the one side. The other side panel does have some kind of writing on it. I believe this can be cleaned up. The legs are sturdy and in good condition. The Beveled glass mirror is original with some fad marks in the silver matting. Should you have any questions or need more photos, please email us. Here is an awesome rolltop desk that is about 100 years old. $695 or best offer. The photos show the desk utilized as an electronic device station. Very cool. The back and sides are gorgeously paneled. Too. Needless to say. It's not factory-fresh. Sold as is. My own Dad bought it in about 1953 from a pharmacist William Votteler in Louisville. KY, and refinished it nicely in about 1965. Contact me with any question at all. And I'll set up direct contact if necessary. It was made by"The J. Dornette& Brother Co. in Cincinnati. Ohio. Circa 1880– 1900. The table features a stunning rick oak colour with a newly replaced green and gold tool leather three-piece top. The tabletop features a lovely oak thumb moulded edge. Which surrounds professional fitted new three-piece green and gold tool insert leather. Below. There are three working moulded drawers to each side of the table. On one side. There is a large compartmentalized central drawer. All drawers feature working locks and keys. The drawers are hand dovetailed and constructed with oak(a sign of good quality) Below the drawers sits a lovely moulded lip edge. The table sits on four ring turned oak legs. The legs feature the original brass castor tip collars and original mug castors. Which is a truly classic design from the late Victorian period. All in all. This is a very pretty and super quality table. This item would compliment any home. Office or library and is ideal as either a library table writing table or large desk. Antique Oak Twin Pedestal Partners Desk - 1/4 Sawn - Very Nice
A beautiful 1/4 sawn Tiger Oak Desk. what they used to call a"Partner's Desk" because it isn't the massive that the boss had. The top is about 30" deep and 50" wide. The build design allows you to get it into tight places. The top comes off of the pedestals and the stringers come out- makes it easy for one person to move. The pedestal feet are wrapped in brass and all the original hardware is intact. The drawers lock when the center drawer is in. Left side- 3 separate drawers Right side- 2 separate drawers(top is standard. Bottom is file) Also has two slide out work areas above the drawer pockets. Doors, Drawers- Great! Complete. All original oak partner's desk. Huge- the top measures 60 1/4" by 46" 2 sided- each side has a set of 4 drawers on one pedestal side and the other a door with 4 cubbyholes and ... more2 large vertical compartments. Condition: Very good. Complete condition in need of finish refinishing and with 3 draws in need of minor repairs. The paneled side pedestal are very good, no loose joints or other structural problems. In our opinion the pedestal and drawer fronts could be lightly sanded and then varnished to suit your tastes- glossy or satin or flat finish. The top and writing slide out boards would likely need to be stripped or sanded and likely stained before finishing. All in all, not a very big restoration process. The 4" drawers on the door side both need to be repaired. The one has a large ink stain in the bottom of the drawer. One of the 4" long drawers has a loose bottom panel. On the drawer pedestal sections three of the drawers measure 4" deep x 12 1/2" wide by a whopping 23" long! The larger drawer is 9 7/8" deep x 12 1/2" wide and is also 23" long! The door pedestal sections each contain a set of 4 cubbyholes which measure 4" wide by 4 1/2" high by 14" deep. The divided vertical file compartments measure 15 1/4" high by 3 3/4" wide by 14" deep. The whole of the desk features a shaped serpentine frame. The sides and back of the desk feature inset panels. The oak lined drawers feature a hand-dovetailed construction. The desk sits on elegant cabriole legs. The desk was designed to be freestanding in the middle of the room; this is why there is decorative detail on the sides and back of the desk. It has an antique patina and nice full size, but not being overwhelming in any room. The Paris Mfg. Co. was started by a man named Henry Franklin Morton as a hobby in 1861. The company first made sleds which were hand decorated by Morton's wife, Lucinda, in their kitchen at West Sumner, Maine. Heavy duty solid brass hinges are in good working order. The circular"GW" decal on the front is clear. Clean and easy to read. Green paper Globe-Wernicke label on the inside is clean and bright. Has a built-in lid support and the adjustable stop is in good working order. This is a very nice very solid oak desk made in England. It has the original solid brass handle the drawers are solid wood with dovetail joints. The base of the desk has under carriage for extra support. To the top there are a few little scratches but nothing really bad. Measurements are 66 wide.36 deep, 31 high.
