Arts & Crafts Frog Lilly Pad PAPER LETTER DESK CLIP Virginia Metalcrafters 1940
This is a solid brass Frog on a Lilly Pad PAPER CLIP with a verdigris finish by Virginia Metalcrafters. The paper clip measures 5-1/4" long x 2-1/2" wide and 1-1/2" tall. It weighs 8.5 ounces. It is in good condition- some of the verdigris finish has rubbed off on the front where the brass shines through. You can see the aged patina on the back. I believe this was made between the late 1930s to early 1940s. It is marked as follows on the back- Vir ginia Metalcrafters mark 7-18(this is the design number)

1920-1940 Mahogany Secretary Desk Bookcase with Drawers
Love the compartments inside this 1920-1940 mahogany secretary desk bookcase! There are 3 shelves inside and the glass doors that have lovely fretwork. The 4 claw feet are vintage worn. The drawers form a really nice serpentine base. The drawers open and close easily and have their original hardware. The goose neck or swan neck arch pediment on top has a middle finial which we are re-attaching. When the desk is opened there are 6 sleeves. 3 serpentine drawers and one"secret compartment" behind the door in the middle. The outside of the drop down desktop is lighter in color than the rest of the piece and really adds a nice depth. The desk was loved and used; the wood is worn. This fascinating souvenir village house scene is from pre-Castro Cuba. The house is Taino or Arawak. The wood base is 8 inches long and about 3 inches wide. With the word"Cuba" carved into it. The base to the top of the palm tree is about 5 inches. The cart, trees, and hut are on a wooden cutout of the island of Cuba.

The finish is that painted, brown, kind of textured stuff. Hard to describe, very typical for lamps and things around that time period. It works fine, and has one long, 15 watt flourescent bulb, but it takes 2 of those long bulbs. Just the one is included in this auction. It is very, very bright even with just one. Has very cool on/off buttons. Both sides work, but there is only one bulb included in this auction. Red button for on. Black button for off. Cool art deco style base. You can move this gooseneck up. Down, sideways, curvy- any way you want! It measures 18 1/2" wide by 18 1/2" tall(when you stand it straight up all the way) Very good condition. Large desk is in very good condition with minor wear due to age. Has original finish and is very clean. All drawers slide as the should. 1940's Stromberg-Carlson Rotary phone. Nice looking old telephone. Cast metal case with original black paint. The hand set is black Bakelite or hard rubber/plastic? whatever they were using in that era. It looks all complete, I opened the bottom to show the insides, brass bells and all! The handset is complete, all the innards for the ear and mouth pieces are inside, no chips nor cracks. The rotary dial turns and returns easily. The wires at the hand set are frayed and the end of the wire that would connect to the wall or receptacle has no plug, just bare wires. 1940 Westinghouse Pacemaker(transitional model) Art-Deco product designer- R.E. Kruck For sale is a very rare transitional 1940 Westinghouse Pacemaker. Retaining the stylistic details of the Clipper-style and Poweraire fans- this bakelite base oscillating fan is lavishly ornate in Art-Deco details. Having been designed by famed product designer Ralph E. Kruck- responsible for the Vader style fans by Westinghouse. This oscillating fan operates at one speed, and works very well. Still has it's original cord and plug. Without any sort of fraying, etc. Designed by R.E. Kruck in the mid 30's this fan was patented in 1937(see patent in images) while the Clipper fan's were in production. And retains the stylistic details of it's predecessor. The notch for wall mounting or desk mounting is a nice detail that works well with its'forward-motion' ... moreand Art Deco heavy styling. Overall a very sophisticated look. Western Electric model 302 desk telephone 1940's vintage!!
A nice 1940's vintage Western Electric dial telephone set. With a metal housing dated 1941 The handset has a 1940 and a 1941 receiver and transmitter elements, which leads me to believe they came with the phone back in the day when it was manufactured. I did, however add on 2 new brown cloth cords to give the telephone an original look, + not having to deal with a worn out cord in a year or two. The piece parts inside are dated 1940. This telephone has been completely gone over, cleaned& tested. Even the old ringer sounds like it did in 1940- enuf to wake the dead(not really) but a real cool old telephone ring is there and you don't have to buy one on line as you have the real thing. The metal housing was professional refinished around 8 years ago and hasn't been touched since its paint job. Here is a beautiful vintage 8-Drawer Wood Desk. Circa 1940's. I couldn't find a maker's mark- although I didn't look underneath- but it looks a lot like Desks made by Maddox of New York. This Desk is well-built and solid- each Drawer features Dovetail construction. This Desk has an imbedded red Leather Top. With gold detailing, Brass Drawer/Side Handles and a 3/8" thick piece of Glass on top. There are three Drawers on the top- a smaller Drawer on each side and a large Drawer in the middle. Below these top Drawers there are three Drawers on the left side and two Drawers on the right side; the bottom right Drawer is a two-Handled File Drawer. This Desk is in good condition for it's age. But does have various blemishes here and there, including some nicks, scratches, scuffs, dings, stains, etc. Some of the Drawers are ... morea little tight when pulled/pushed in and out and could use some lubrication/wax. Wood Desk - 1940's - Walnut - 2 ½ x 5 Ft.
Vintage Furniture: Wood Desk- 1940's- Walnut- 2 ½ x 5 Ft. This neat old desk is all wood with solid walnut and walnut veneers. I got it from an antique store almost 40 years ago. It’s extremely functional and very cool looking. The only reason I am selling is that we are redecorating after moving to a new house and need something completely different. The top measures 30" 2' 6" deep. 58" 4" 10" wide, and 29" tall. There is an eased edge strip all around the top. The sides and back extend down about 23" where they meet the leg pedestals. It’s a full wrap around design in back. There is a leg pedestal on each side and all four feet are adjustable. The drawers are dove tailed with wood pulls about 5" long. There is one double size drawer for files plus five single size drawers. All the drawers ... morehave moveable inserts to create different sized storage spaces, plus one pencil tray with several compartments. There are two slide out writing extension boards(one on each side) with small metal pulls. There is probably less wear than would be expected for it’s age. But normal signs of age and use are unavoidable. There are some ancient marks that were there when I got it, and a few more dings of my own along the way. The biggest condition issue is damage from the movers during the relocation mentioned above. a few pieces of veneer are missing from the lower right side. This is all easily reparable when I had an expert look at it, and I absolutely would have done so except for the redecorating previously mentioned. Instead, I’ll just price it on the low side and let the new owner take care of things as they wish. I can’t really ship this due to size and weight. But you can pick it up in Bean Station, Tennessee(less than 1 hour NE of Knoxville and 1 hour from the Smoky Mountains. a nice place to visit if you haven’t been here! This vintage 1940's Eversharp(Ever Sharp) fountain pen desk set is in very good condition. The 2 1/2" wide x 3 1/2" long x 7/8" tall black. Green& gold marble base has no chips or cracks and the four felt pads and Eversharp label are intact on the underside(the label does have a puncture in it) The brass ball inside the pen receptacle is tight, so the pen will stay in any position without falling over. RARE Art Deco Brass? Copper? Vintage metal bed desk reading lamp 1940's cool NR
This is a very cool old art deco bed lamp from the 1940s? Don't know year for sure but it looks old to me) It's made of some kind of metal which looks sort of like copper plating but I'm not sure. Has a good bit of pitting so probably needs to be cleaned but still a very pretty and unusual lamp. The metal hooks that secure the lamp to the bed are a bit rusty but still serviceable. No maker marks that I can find. The lamp is in good working condition and the chord and plug look original to me but I am no expert. Feel free to ask any questions and happy bidding!

Bell System type 302 desk telephone 1940 vintage WORKING!!!
A Western Electric 302 desk telephone from June. 1949 in perfect working order. The dial has been removed, cleaned& tested and lubricated properly to ensure many more years of service. I have added on a modular cord going to the wall jack. The housing is in good shape and free of any cracks or deep scratches. The dial is the original type 5H that would have come from the factory on a telephone of this vintage.

A 1940 vintage Western Electric dial desk telephone made in February. 1940(Before the war! Metal housing, original dial dated same as the telephone, 1940, which is really rare on a phone this old. The F-1 type transmitter is original and the HA-1 receiver unit was replaced during the war(1944) The dial works perfectly after being cleaned, tested and fully calibrated by an expert. The housing was refinished professionally about 9 or 10 years ago and has been in storage ever since then. Now get this! The phones cloth cords are both.
