This lovely pair are the perfect mix of decorative beauty and practical functionality to make for a vintage design classic. They look great in any room and they are able to store lots of items. Ostensibly they are bookcases but of course you can use them to hold other items. They look particuarly good with decorative items- statues, vases etc- in them. However, for myself, being the bookish type I have a pair in my home with nothing but lovely, fading works of literature in them. The shelves are adjustable to suit meaty tomes or smaller paperbacks. The shelves work on a slat system so you can adjust them to whatever height you like for whatever you like. From\War and Peace\ to the\World\s Smallest Book of Poetry\ these bookcases are perfect. The open fronts are Sheraton style. Main body is walnut polished to a high sheen with solid shelves The inlay is made from various fruitwoods- satinwood. Rosewood, applewood- to create a beautiful affect. The fruitwoods are softer hence there use as inlay within the harder mahogany. The level of the craftmanship on these is absolutely superb, both strucurally in that they are very solid, and also with the intricacy of the inlay. The close up pictures of the inlay work hopefully illustrates the level of craftmanship with patterns of scrolling branches. Urns and flower motifs. They would be the highlight of any room and due to their solid construction will last for many generations more. They are in perfect conditon structurally and they have just come back from the restorers where they were repolished so they are ready for home use straight away. I brought the book shelf from a lovely little antique shop in the Lake District when I was on my Honeymoon. However I never got round to putting it up and I don't really have the room for it. It has been in a corner of my bedroom for ages now, which is a real shame as its a beautiful piece of Oak. This superb antique bookcase comes apart for moving using large bolts similar to bed bolts. Solid mahogany. Beveled glass doors and quality of carving are indicative of pieces out of the AH Davenpot/ Irving& Casson shop. Brass hardware complete and all original. One shelf is a replacement. Fantastic c 1900 oak leaded glass bookcases. These are meant to fit in a corner. They come with 8 shelves and 16 wooden shelf supports. These are gorgeous and priced to sell. Pickup only in Lancaster ohio. As long as you pay promptly we are flexible on when you pickup. Two pane in the leaded glass are broken on one door. A trim piece from one end is missing on the other bookcase and one shelf notch is long gone but otherwise these are fantastic. they do have a moth ball smell as they were stored for many years. Size of larger is 48 7/8" wide, 16.75" deep and 53.5" high. The other is the same height and depth but is only 39" wide. You get both as they are a set.

The table is extremely solid and heavy. There are 5 chairs, 4 side and one captains. The set is solid oak. The are pads to protect it at any size you have the table open to. There is a metal lever that releases the table to unlock it to put in the extensions. Measures 96" long with the(2) 20" extensions. And completely round without the extensions. To start with. I have had this bookcase for about 10 years and never finished it till recently and never intended to sell it. Now the time comes to move to another home and there is no place that will accommodate it hence it has to go. It's a killer piece and makes a room aglow. Made of rosewood and rosewood veneer the quality is great. Four bolts and a few screws hold the whole thing together. Simply take screws out of the two back panels and then unbolt the bolts and it comes apart into nine individual pieces for ease of transport. Very strong attribution to JW Meeks of NY as you look at the construction and carvings. Super carved crest tops this magnificent example of American furniture history. Antique 1820 French Furniture
This piece was made from Italian walnut veneers in France in 1820. I believe it was originally an armoire and some time in its history was converted to a bookcase. The clothes bars are still in the case so it can be easily used as originally intended. The piece originally could be broken down into three pieces. The crown. The center section, and the base that includes a drawer. The pins that hold the pieces together have been glued to make the piece one unit. It makes it very stable and easy to move about. If so desired I'm sure a restoration professional could free the pins. There also were installed hidden metal brackets to support the crown which is unique and quite large. The shelves used for books in its current format are removable. The feet I would describe as bun feet. This lovely simple set of shelves is a classic example of the bamboo style. Measurements: 41" tall/19"wide/ 12" deep. Antique Mahagony Revolving Bookcase 19th Century
English 1880's mahogany revolving bookcase. Designed to replace bookshelves, making room for wall decor. This particular one has a network of exterior slates making 8 compartments, all 7" x 12 1/2" for books. 32 1/2" in height x 21" square. The square center style holds the whole together over it's stand with four brass casters. Some restorable surface scratches due to years of use.A real conversation piece!

IMPRESSIVE ANTIQUE LARGE BREAKFRONT MAHOGANY BOOKCASE CIRCA 1890-1910
Church Street Antiques has been trading in London's famous Marylebone antiques district for twenty-five years Specializing in English antique furniture 1750-1920. We have a large stock. Including dining furniture, bedroom furniture, and drawing room furniture, as well as lighting and ornamental pieces. Very impressive& fabulous quality antique mahogany breakfront bookcase. In good condition dating from around the 1890-1910 period. Please be aware that the top middle door was locked at the time of photography, so we couldn't put the shelves in that part. Consequently it doesn't look as good as it should. This bookcase has many wonderful features& I will try to list a few. I suppose it's Chippendale in style. The top cornice has a very detailed Greek key moulding. The three doors have fine astral-glazing& adjustable ... moreshelves inside. The bottom section has two flame mahogany drawers& two cupboards with flame mahogany panels that have some intricate carvings on the corners. The top of the base section has a carved edge& the drawers have original brass handles. This all sits on very bold legs with more good carvings plus ball& claw feet. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the fine details. This bookcase comes apart into two sections for easy transportation. One more thing I just noticed, is that it has the old metal'Maple& Co' label inside one of the doors, which is always a sign of quality, because the old Maples store only sold items of top quality. Width- 73.6" 187 cm Depth- 17.3" 44 cm Height- 78.4" 199 cm. As with all of my items. One might find the odd indentation or marking consistent with the age of the item, so please don't expect new looking antiques. Everything is restored& polished when needed, but I would rather leave as much originality& character as possible. For those of you wanting delivery.
