I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. If you want the knobs polished it is an additional please see the other ad. I have had many calls for these base knobs in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers as the only source was robbing original bases for these knobs. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Up for sale is this older restoration of a 3 piece Globe Wernicke stacking bookcase. Very unusual to find one with the top gallery piece like this one has. Overall size is 36" wide by 53" high and 12" deep. Two units have doors that are 11 1/2" high and one unit that is 13 1/2" high(this unit shown on top has a crack across the back. Not noticeable at all once you have items inside. Note the bottom drawer, I failed to get a photo of it pulled out; it's a great feature for holding small odds and ends. This is a great looking set! Manufactured by the Danner Co. of Canton Ohio(see original label) This is an unusual Danner bookcase in that it has 3 full stacks of bookcases rather than the more common style of two stacks. Globe and others. Four separate stacks with this bookcase-a graduated unit with 2 different sizes. Note the top unit has a leaded glass door. Super original finish which is smooth and even. The interior height of the units is 13 and 11. The overall size of the piece is 34 wide, 13 deep, and 57.5 high. Good functional unit in excellent condition. The Globe Wernicke company(a competitor of Macey and others) made many fine styles of barrister bookcases(sometimes called lawyers bookcase or stacked bookcase) but none rival their'Ideal' model. With fancy carving. Columns, and serpentine front, they were not rivaled in the sectional bookcase market. Note the following in this quartered oak unit: dentil molding along top, leaded glass on top door with beveled glass on all the other doors, step out base with drawer, raised panel sides including the base, fancy carvings on top and bottom ends. This is a nice 4 stack antique barrister bookcase marked Globe Wernicke. This piece came out of the Dept.of State in Washington. DC and still has the old stickers. All the glass fronts are intact with no damage. Door slides work fine; one was recently replaced. All sections have the original finish with slight color variations and non matching old brass knobs. There is no significant damage only some minor stains and scratches obtained over the years. In total you are purchasing 6 pieces: 4 cabinets. A top, and a legged base. Each separate cabinet is approximately 33” wide x 13”deep x 14 3/4” tall. Total height of the case is approximately 72” Please see all photos. It comes from smoke free environment. IF I WERE TO KEEP THIS I WOULD CLEAN IT WIH MINERAL SPIRITS AND A BUFF PAD AND GIVE IT A GOOD COAT OF PASTE WAX, ALTHOUGH IT LOOKS O.K AS IT IS. It is made from a lovely golden oak and would look well in both an old or modern property in any room for storage of many books amongst similar golden oak furniture. The bookcase stands on a square plinth supporting the main section where there are three stacks with each stack having two doors. These doors have their original handles and behind the doors there is plenty of storage space for many books. The top is in good condition and it beautifully shaped to the front. The height is 102cm. Oak 4 Stack Lawyer 1900 Antique Bookcase. A classic four stack"lawyer's" bookcase from about 1900 is quarter sawn oak. And has original wavy glass doors and knobs. The deep satiny finish is in excellent condition on this American made library furniture. Four separate sections plus a base and top stack together to form this"modular" antique. This is a original finish"Gunn" mission style bookcase. The finish is in good original condition with normal ware. There is one small missing chunk on front bottom.
