Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique barrister bookcase. This is made by the Globe Wernicke Company. There is a sticker on the back wall of two of the sections. that reads D10 1/4 299. The top section meausres 13" high to the glass door opening. The next two sections measure 10.5" to the top of the glass door opening and the bottom section measures 10.2" to the top with the glass door open. The assembled piece measures 61.25" high and has a width of 34" and an overall depth of 12" The depth of the main body is 11" This is the standard style with plain glass doors made from quarter sawn oak and oak veneers. This has the original brass hardware. There are some light age and use appropriate scratches and dings. There are paint specks on this. Only a small handful of these ever survived. This model was owned by the Bethlehem Steel Company and used as a then start of the art portable office for various clerical employees duties when their jobs required their moving around the massive plants' building and grounds. The entire desk is in a mint model 299 original finish. Please excuse the shade on the piece in our pictures. The shadows cast by the shade did not appear so pronounced in the camera's picture ... morereview. In ingenuity of this desk's design by Globe Wernicke is in its portability. The front French flared legs are fastened by two braces on each side. They come right off and the desk breaks down into three pieces for ease of move. This is absolutely the only one of these we have ever seen much less sold. The last one even close that has surfaced was in England and in birch with a glaringly average refinishing job. Virtually the only place you can see this desk is in the old Globe Wernicke product catalogs. Undoubtedly& hopefully some made it to the caring hands of true Globe Wernicke products collectors and this model in fantastic original finish and this isn't the only one surviving. They do not make quality stuff like this anymore(due to the cost and paperless movement) and the price of these pieces when you find then goes up almost daily. Golden color color. Solid Maple( I do not believe there is even any veneer on this piece at all) very nice, used condition with a few minor nicks as expected from an old college piece. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. Up for auction is this really nice vintage 9 drawer Globe Wernicke library card catalog cabinet with dovetail construction drawers and a solid oak dovetailed construction frame cabinet.It has a brass label tag on the back see photo no. 7 which is the only part that is not solid wood. But a plywood veneer. There is some damage to the bottom see photo no. 6, 8, 9 approx. 3/8' or less up across the bottom.There is a split in the cabinet photo no. 3. The back has some scratches and some paint scratches also see photo no. 6. It looks like the paper on the bottom( last pic) could be it's original label. The cabinet is in very good solid condition and the drawers also are in very good working condition. Set of 4 Antique Oak File Drawer Card Holders Plus Pull -Globe Wernicke?
A set of antique file cabinet label card holders that mount on the front of each drawer. 3 of them are flush mount that measure 3 5/8 by 2 1/4 inches. The holes are 3 1/4 and 1 7/8 inches on center. These are heavy cast brass. Not rolled and have an item number impressed into the back of each which looks like"894" The other is a card label holder with a bin pull on the bottom. The top label bracket is 2 3/4 by 1 1/4 inches. The overall measurements are 2 inches by 3 7/8 inches. The holes are 3 1/2 inches on center. It is also cast brass. Unsure of the maker or the company but a nice vintage lot for your restoration project.

The label holders/pulls are brass with a nice patina. Steel/metal green painted drawers both have the original sliders. File is in good condition with variable wood grain on all sides and between the two drawers. Top(2nd photo) has seen a lot of use with dark marks, a couple nicks/small gouges, and a few shallow stress splits in the top left(facing) corner. Drawers have some light rust and missing some paint as shown in the last four photos. All four metal drawer runners on the inside top are intact. Early Tiger Oak Globe Wernicke Lawyers Bookcase Drawer Base
This is a nice condition base stand for a Globe Wernicke Lawyer's Bookcase. Looks like Tiger Oak but I'm not a professional. The drawer needs a little TLC. While it does function it needs a mild remedy to make it easier to open and close. I have several broken water damaged pieces of a bookcase but this was protected from harm and is still in good shape. For a restoration piece its great! Finish is dulled but its a solid base. Wish I could restore it myself. I love these"modular" bookcases quite modern for their day! I would like someone to have it who is interested in restoration of these. As this appears to be an early and less common section. I also have a top that needs veneer work that I will be listing as well. Local pickup unless buyer wants to provide a shipping service. The Cabinet measures approx. 30 1/2 inch tall. 28 inches long, and about 15 inches wide. The drawers slide easily. The exterior wood has normal age nicks. Scrapes and scratches, but nothing terrible. The top has several marks from putting things on it over the years. You can see some shading on the color of the wood finish on the backside. Looks to me like it might have been from the sun light hitting part of it. I don't know the type of wood but it looks clear. It's a very good looking piece of old office furniture.
