I have for sale a beautiful antique oak barrister bookcase made by the Globe-Wernicke Company of Cincinnati. This set is complete. All original, and shows no damage. These shelves were previously owned by a retired judge for Mercer county. This vintage bookcase is in excellent condition- all shelves have the original glass(wavy from time) original knobs, and all labels are present. The metal side bands are all present and genuine with no rust, and have not had the original patina polished away as some have. The oak wood shows an all original finish with a wonderfully rich coloring- it has not been refinished, or retouched in any way. It has all of the qualities and markings that make it a most desirable piece. If you've been looking for an original antique barrister bookcase, you'll recognize this as a pristine example- you won't find anything better. Has metal brackets at each end. These measurements are exact and they are: Wide- 34" x 10 1/2" Deep x 3 1/8" Tall. I took these pictures in both the shade and full sun so you could see both the finish and patina. Unfortunately the Globe Wernicke paper label is missing but I know for a fact this is a Globe Wernicke top and I will stand behind that 100% If you know the number and finish please let me know and I'll post the information so everyone can see. I have given you( 18) pictures to look at. Please take a moment and Enlarge my pictures so you can see everything clearly. As for the condition I would say it's good. Very solid. Originally the previous owner had a paper label on this( right side) where the front curves down and I removed it. You can see this in my 1st picture. There is a little nick on the left side and this is NOT a big deal but has to be mentioned. Finally on the left side front the veneer has just started to come up. Again this is not a big deal but has to be mentioned. If I was to use this myself I would keep it as it is. Take a look at my pictures and judge for yourself. If you are missing the top- cap to your Globe Wernicke bookcase here is the opportunity to have a complete unit. I truly believe you will be very pleased with this once you see it. Vintage Stone Middle East King, Lion,Queen, Bookcase, Desk Figurines, lot of 3
Hi. This is a nice lot of small Egyptian style figurines. I believe them to be a copper coated metal set on alabaster stone. All the stone is in good condition with only a small chip in the side bottom of the Sphinx. The figurines have wear to the finish on all and the top of Nefertiti's head dress is very dark. The chin piece on King Tut unscrews from the figurine and has almost no finish and some slight damage at the top where it comes away from the chin. The group has a lot of vintage character and I am selling as found with no cleaning. They each weigh approx. 1 lb. The Sphinx is 5 inches long, 2 1/4 wide and 3 inches high to top of head, King Tut is 3 1/2 wide, 2 5/8 deep and 3 1/2 high, and the Nefertiti head is 2 1/2 wide, 3 1/2 deep and 4 inches high. Vintage Globe Wernicke Solid Walnut Barrister Bookcase
This three tiered Walnut Barristers Bookcase was originally manufactured by Globe Wernicke. It comes in five stackable sections. Three shelf units, a base and a topper, all made from sold walnut. The unit is a finely made piece of furniture as displayed in the photographs showing the side panel joinery. It has knobs that do not match that can be easily replaced with more desirable hardware. The cantilever glass doors are in excellent working condition and operate smoothly. The unit has a beautiful aged patina. It measures 33 inches wide x 13 inches deep x 64.75 inches high. The two lower shelves are 14.75 inches high and the top shelf is 17 inches high. It weighs approximately 80 lbs.
