Each bookcase section is 14 inches wide, 8 inches deep, 12 inches high on the bottom, 10 inches high on the other 3 levels. The overall height of the bookcase is 58 inches. The finish is very nice and it will hold many books. The only thing I see wrong with it is that there are lamination seams on the top came apart a bit, but is structurally sound. It revolves on a metal base. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. I think the wood could be walnut the more I look at it in this dark finish. The overall size is 21 inches square and 35 inches high overall. Great stacking bookcase circa 1940 from the machine age start of the midcentury modern period. It has a sticker on the top front that reads ART METAL JAMESTOWN? NEW YORK USA- Bookcase is metal but original finish is made to look like mahogany. As you can see one window needs replaced and there is some wear to the finish and spotty rust spots but overall very presentable. No dents. Both top and bottom remove leaving 3 matching stackable sections. Doors work nicely. Overall size is 52" tall by 32 3/4' wide by 18" deep plus a little additional for the knobs. Broken down each section is about 15" tall plus another 3/8" indented section for the next stack to fit on. Actual working size-that is the amount of room you have for the books giving clearance for the door and door mechanisms are 17 1/4" deep. 30 1/8" ... morewide by 12" tall. 3 Section Mahogany Bookcase
For sale is a magnificent mahogany triple bookcase dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s with a wonderful braided carving detail. This piece of fine furniture is all one piece measuring 6 feet in length. 5 feet in height, including the feet(which I have not measured but they are approximately 8- 10 inches high) and about 18 inches deep(I did not measure but will and will revise if necessary) The feet are removable and attach with 3 or 4 pegs each. The pegs are very substantial, but one is broken. This bookcase has wear commensurate with its age. But a good polish would make it look fabulous. There is a spot of white paint on top and some scratches, but they would only be visible to someone tall enough to see the top without being on a ladder. The shelves are all adjustable and the doors lock, although one lock is a little tricky. Someone ... moreinstalled lights in this piece, which I have never tried to turn on and do not recommend using because they will generate heat if the doors are closed, but I have not removed them. This piece must be shipped due to its size and weight. I have not weighed it. But an estimate only is 75 lbs. This bookcase is available for pickup. If, however, it is to be shipped to the east coast, I can recommend a very reliable shipper. 1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. 19th C Eastlake Two Section Bookcase Walnut/Burl Walnut Veneer w/Ornate Carving
An absolutely stunning pair of bookcases. These date to the mid 19th century and are in unbelievable condition for the age. These are two sections that were most likely built in at some point or possibly had a section that fit in between them. When facing the cabinets. The left section is unfinished on the right side of it and the right section is unfinished on the left side. This can be seen in the last photo. Together these are 86 7/8" in width. The height is 77" to the top of the corner moldings and 76" to the top front center. The depth at the base is 18 5/8" and the crown has a depth of 18.5" These could be used in two separate areas with the unfinished side against a wall. The sections are exactly alike with stunning hand carved floral and geometric designs. The top crest of these has a hand carved dental molding ... morethat matches at the seam. The corner pieces have a carved floral design. The inside depth is 14.25" There are four shelves inside each section. The shelves sit on slats that fit into a step design that is attached to the inner sides. This can be seen in the photo of the inside. There are locks with inside mechanisms on the doors. The top corners of the glass on the doors have an ornate carved. Applied design. There are reeded columns on the outer left and right sides as well. Each section also has two drawers with the original hardware. The drawers also have locks on them. There are metal rods that run through the wood on the sides as part of the construction of these that run from front to back. At the front the rod appears as a small button 1/4 of the way down the reeded column. It is attached at the back with a nut. There are signs of wear that are age and use appropriate including scratches on the shelves and feet. Overall these are in great condition and the pictures don't do them justice. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping.
