The desk has a large carved design on the front of the fall front desk top and opens to reveal pigeon holes. Slots and two small drawers within the desk itself. The fall front provides a large writing surface. The desk portion sits over a full width single drawer with two half width drawers and a cupboard base w/ door underneath. All drawer fronts have applied rectangular panels with walnut burl veneer covering the entire panels. Drawers have wonderful molded and stamped brass drawer pulls and back plates and all drawers, doors and fall front have keyholes with matching escutcheons and keys. All indications are this is the original finish on the secretary with only the inside fall front being refinished to match the rest of the desk. Never had another ... morelike it. Excellent cosmically and both doors operate perfectly. It measures approximately 41-1/2” high, 34” wide and 11” deep. The shelves measure 14” high and 12” high inside, so this is large for a 2-shelf. According to the labels, they are “Pattern 813” and “Pattern 811”. Both are also marked “Grade 299”. It has a replacement base that’s a great match and is better constructed than what it would’ve come with. Local pickup only due to size and how fragile these are, sorry. According to the labels, they are pattern #’s 709, 711, and 713 and are all “Grade 3298-1/2”. Great vintage condition, as shown, with minor scuffs from use. A couple minor chips on the veneer on the right side and a couple rings on top. I wiped it down with mineral spirits, but there’s a century’s worth of wax on it, so could use a good cleaning. Due to size and how fragile these are, I’m listing it for local pickup only, sorry.
