Up for Sale A sturdy. Vintage Globe-Wernicke Co. Mission style Barrister Bookcase from the early 1900's that has been in my family for years. It has three glass doored sections for books(the top section is 8 1/2" high. The middle section is 10 1/4" high. And the bottom section is 12 1/4" high according to the original labels.please see photos provided) The outside dimension of the bookcase is 51"s high. 11 1/4"s deep, and 34"s wide. The glass and the metal mechanism that opens the windowed bookcase sections is all original and in working order. The base has feet. Some have the 1905 patent date stamp and some do not. A couple have earlier square end. The other five have the ends with rounded edges. Price is for 1(one) scissor arm. Dimensions: 23" long. Condition: Some have minor bends that will easily flatten back straight. VERY dirty! I dug out all my scissor arms to list. I laid them on the porch and a blowing storm got them wet causing surface rust. I sprayed them with WD-40 and wiped them down. Up for auction is this hard to find style of GLOBE WERNICKE Roll Top Desk- in beautiful golden oak. This desk is in very nice condition for it's age. Everything works well. Including the lock& key to the roll top. The only issue is one of the small drawers has an old crack on the face- otherwise a really fine old desk. This"lower" style is such a nice piece of furniture- as you can see, it is great looking all the way around and on the inside. It measures 54" wide x 32" deep x 43" tall to the top of the roll. The Globe Files Company from Cincinnati was founded in 1882. In 1899. It purchased the Wenicke Company, founded in 1893) to form the Globe-Wernicke Company of Cincinnati. This company is best known for their high end Bookcases, Desks and other office Furniture. I was lucky enough to find one of their document trays at an Estate Auction, this past week and would like to pass it on to you. I wish I had enough room on my desk for it, but sadly, I don't. This wooden tray measures approximately 15" X 10" X 2 1/2" It is in surprisingly good shape for its age. The sticker is intact and their are few slight scratches or marks on it. A terrific piece for the home or office. It measures roughly 20 x 16 x 7 1/2 inches tall. The two drawer fronts measure 8 3/4 x 6 inches. The drawers are 15 inches deep and hold cards up to 5 x 8 inches. The cabinet is in very good as-found condition with just a few inches of veneer damage on the backside. It has not been stained, waxed or re-varnished. A beautiful cabinet with terrific natural aged patina. It will be double boxed and have a shipping weight of 30 pounds. This is another wonderful. OLD antique oak 4 drawer file cabinet. It was made by the GLOBE WERNICKE Co. and is also marked PATEN PEND. From the early 1900s, there ARE 4 drawers, doors all slide IN AND out smoothly. Not real heavy about 80 lbs. Measures 52 1/2 inches high, is 16 1/2 inches across and is 25 inches deep. The finish is excellent, with just slight scuffs, and scratches, as would be expected for a old cabinet. Top is in remarkably great condition. Back bottom veneer is worn some as shown, but very fixable if it is important to you. Top drawer brown rectangular card holder is a replacement. All Bakalite pulls. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping.
