This auction is for a neat& smaller size solid Mahogany Book Case Book Rack from England. When I first saw this bookcase. I thought it was a wall mounted unit, but looking at it closer, it could be wall mounted, but it never been mounted to a wall. It's a neat little unit. The shelves are higher in the front and slant lower to the back, which makes the books stay back in the shelves. As you see, it looks great up against a wall, but by either adding mounts on the back or drilling a couple of holes, it would make a neat wall mounted unit. Each shelf has a"backstop" across the back to keep books for sliding through. This one is in overall good condition without any rot or worm damage. This bookcase is not new or a reproductions, it been around quite a while and have just got"off the boat" from England less than 4 ... moreweeks ago. Beautiful Antique / Vintage K&O Co Dog & Library Bookcase Kronheim & Oldenbusch
This is a Beautiful Pair of Antique/ Vintage K&O Co. Metal Bookends. The motif is a cute little dog standing in front of a library bookcase. The bookends are made by Kronheim& Oldenbusch. The backs are marked with a copyright symbol above"K&O Co" The bookends appear to be brass or similar. If you tap on the flat back panel you can tell for sure they are metal. The sound is also definitely hollow. But the bookends are very heavy weighing just over 3 pounds for the pair(i.e. a little over 1 1/2 pounds each) so I assume they are weighted. The bottoms are covered in red felt as seen. The bookends are beautifully articulated; they are very three dimensional. The painting on many of the book spines adds a lot to their appeal. As does the cute little dog. The dog is standing on an oval floral rug place in front of the bookcase ... moreand you can image his master placing it there so his dog would have a comfy place to nap, as his master reads in a nearby chair. Each bookend is 5 1/2" tall to the top of the finial on the crown on the bookcase. The overall maximum dimensions of the base are about 4" x 3" We do not know specifically when the bookends were made. Information I found online stated that the company was in business from 1895 to 1939. And that"Most of their bookends were produced from 1928 to 1935" I do not have any other independent verification of this information. This great looking. High qualtiy pair of bookends would be a great addition to any bookend collection, and they would also be great as you one and only pair and would nicely complement any set of fine books! Condition The set is in mint condition in the original packaging. The way the outer protective heavy clear plastic container is made. I cannot tell definitely if the set was ever opened, but I suspect it was not opened. I am opting not to open it, but we will guarantee your satisfaction of the set and board. Vintage Oak Lawyers Stacking Bookcase Door Glass and Hardware GRM Grand Rapids I sold a vintage mission lawyers bookcase awhile back and the bottom section had been damaged so I sold only the remaining sections. This is the door and hardware that was removed from the bottom unit. It is the glass door that hooks on the sides of the bookcase unit with the hardware for the sides of the bookcase itself. The bookcase it was removed from was oak so this also should be oak. The glass is in perfect condition. No chips or cracks. The knob is not original. The door is in wonderful condition and has the hooks attached on the sides as shown. It measures 32 3/8' X 13½' X 13/16' I did notice that this door is higher than the other ones were and it was on a bottom unit. I'm not sure if all the screws are there but that's what we ... morehad to remove but a screw or two is not hard to find. Some of the parts have some minor surface rust which should clean up easily. Please read the entire description and view the photos to get a feel for the condition of this item. Today I'm offering a vintage Barbie sized bedroom furniture set. It is made of particle board with a metal bed frame. The frame attaches to the headboard with pins. However, the original pins are missing. I used small wires to attach the bed to the headboard and will include them. I also cut out a foam rubber'mattress' but did not make a bedspread or pillows, as the next owner may want something different than what I would have chosen. The doll and her dress are not included- only to give a sense of scale. There are some tiny spots which I didn't try to remove and don't know what they are on the tops ... moreof the headboard and the wardrobe. The wardrobe has a place for shelves. But they are missing. There are pink flowers on the doors of the wardrobe. The dowel for hanging doll clothes is intact. The metal bed frame has a few bends(see photos) The legs all seem to be sturdy and in good shape. I don't see a manufacturer printed or stamped anywhere on the set and don't know what year it was made. However because it has a bookcase headboard which was such a popular design in the 50's and 60's. I'm guessing that is when it was made. This little set has been in my collection for several years. But I no longer have room for all my things, due to our latest move. I did not notice any strange odors, although this set could use a light dusting. Some wax residue inside shelving. The removable melamine shelves may need to be replaced as they have some edge curling, but with books or objects on them it is not noticeable.
