This treasure has 3 levels and the bookshelf sections are 14" wide. 7 3/4" deep and the heights are 10 1/2" 10 1/2" and 12" on the bottom level. Besides being a great bookcase. Danners are fantastic for holding HUNDREDS of CD's, DVD's and also your prized Collectables! The condition is rock solid with screws holding the vertical slats. The finish is a medium honey oak with a great 120 year old patina that changes with the light of day. This Danner spins with the push of a finger. Just acquired out of a private Midwest estate we are able to offer this exceptionally nice. Circa 1900-1910 ~ SOLID QUARTER SAWN GOLDEN OAK REVOLVING BOOKCASE WITH A TWO TIER TABLE TOP SHELF ~. This fine quality revolving bookcase is quite unique and has a wonderful look as you will see. It has a very unique, handy two tier shelf top and many different compartments for the storage of books. There are individual celluloid numbers below the book shelves to help you locate your desired reference book. The numbers go up to 34 and it looks like there may have been 35 and 36 as well but they are not there. It measures 43 1/2 inches tall by about 26 inches square. The sections to store the books measure about 13 3/4 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches deep by 14 1/2 inches wide" some of them are only 11 1/2 inches wide" We have never seen another ... moreone like it, and i9magine it is a fairly hard to find, desirable example. The over all condition is pretty nice with some expected wear from age and use. All in all, it was actually very well cared for over the past 100 years or so. There are some small separations between the some of the boards on the two top shelves. It is very sturdy and is in ready to use condition. We left this bookcase exactly as it was when discovered in the estate and did not do a thing to it. It has been is storage for quite some time. It revolves just fine and rolls on the castor wheels very nice as well. I believe that the finish is original and it is actually quite nice with a rich warm patina. If you have been looking for a really nice and very unique revolving bookcase, this one here may be just the one you have been waiting for. Shorter ones are commonly found, but finding one of this height is truly harder to come by.It has the stenciled mark showing the patented dates of May 16, 1876, Feb 20& Dec 11, 1877. This fine bookcase is designed to rotate on its pedestal for easy access to books from all four sides. This will store numerous books, CD's or DVD's. Here is a very early and RARE Tiger Oak Danner Revolving Bookcase in the medium dark'Fumed Oak' finish that was used very often in the 1890-1920 Arts and Crafts(Stickley Era) by most makers of fine Mission Oak furniture. The Paine Furniture(established in 1835) company sold Danner bookcases of this type in the 1880's through the early 1900's with the wider slats and DECORATIVE hobnails. This was probably a special order made by Paine Furniture during those years. We had this model once before. And the Paine Furniture label was under the bottom of the Danner. There are a few very minor"scars of time" that only add authenticity and charm to this treasure. Overall measurements are 26" square and 58" high. There are four levels with 16 bookcase sections. All measuring 16" wide, 7" deep and ... more11" high. Many people also used the flat top of the Danner as another bookcase level, making it a 5 level Danner! This is a lovely antique Mission-style rotating bookshelf in dark oak. Its dimensions are: 53" high. 23" X 16.5" top(which is the largest width/depth of the piece) It rotates very easily-no noise or dragging whatsoever. The bookshelf is on wheels which makes it very easy to move around when empty. I would guess that it was refinished prior to my having purchased it(10-15 years ago) as the finish is in excellent condition. Buyer needs to pick up in San Jose OR arrange shipping.
