Condition: Used Location: Hatfield, United States Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume ... morethey did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. For your consideration. We offer this vintage oak veneer filing case manufactured by the National Cash Register Co. Dayton, Ohio. The lid hinges back to reveal 2 inner compartments which could hold a capacity of 200 envelopes- one for each credit customer. The stickered sheet under the lid details how the file worked and is dated 12-13-00. This method of keeping track of credit customers gave a proprietor an alternative to a ledger. With original brass hardware. The back of the file is designed as a book spine so that the case can be stood on end and placed on a shelf when not in use; the word'National' in gold lettering appears on the spine. 1890's Wood's Oak lift top Cash Register-Nashua Till Co
We are pleased to offer a vintage oak lift top Wood's 1890'S cash register/Till as manufactured by the Nashua Till Co. Nashua NH. The original label is still intact and undamaged. The register is approx 21" long X 19" wide X 12 1/2" high( including backsplash) It has one center drawer and a lift top. The lift top has a coin slot at the bottom right with a plated metal cover(some finish missing) for depositing coin. Although called a cash register, it truly operated as a recording device, it was probably fairly obsolete when introduced since you still manually had to calculate a customer purcased items, and one wonders how many were sold. There is a paper roll(original) to post and keep a running total of amount owed. The glass(original) cover that fits over the paper pivots up and down to allow the paper to be adjusted. ... moreThere is also a lever to advance the paper( it is broken) The original spring operated paper roll mechanism is"as found. I suspect there is missing parts but I am not knowledgeable enough to inform you which ones. The center drawer is an open design, non sectioned, has two cutouts in the back, not sure of their intended purpose. The drawer bottom is made of a thick wood stock(see picture) and had to be significantly hand planed to fit the drawer side slots. As you can see from the pictures, the oak case is in very good condition considering its age. The lift top section has a oak veneer finish.It is fully intact with some aging splits(very minor, no bubbling) The lift top lock is missing. Overall a very nice old piece. you will not find a better quality high end antique secretary desk for sale anywhere. i will tell you why. this piece. Maker i do not know, quality of horner but is not likely his work, is as well constructed and remains in that condition after 120 years of service. there are no loose or wobbly screws or holes. the hardware is all original and perfect. it has all original locks that are all tight and just like the day they were installed. it has the original keys and all the locks lock and work perfectly. when the door is shut there is not crack or room between the door and frame large enough to allow a razor blade to slide into. the same way with the drawers, drop front and top drawer which is spectacular and boast a serpentine curve. this piece is as solid and tight as any i have ever owned and the correctness and tightness would lead one ... moreto believe it was made yesterday. not really, they do not make stuff in this day and time that remotely compares to antique furniture. most secretary desks, there are some gaps in the bookcase door, usually wobbly hinges, drop front loose, drawers flopping here and there. you can shut most of them up but they have issues. anyway, construction is perfect, solid, quality material, and workmanship. who ever made it was a triple A firm. on the back there is a paper label that has spaces for the no. of the item, the finish, who did the cabinet work, filling, rubbing, polishing, trimming, and packing. these areas have been penciled in, but the wording has faded beyond ascertainment. there is also a label that has willick bros, muncating? somewhere. can't make that out either. the piece also has incised inventory numbers in the boards feature only used by the highest quality furniture makers. it also has stamped inventory nos. here and there. are you bored yet? now for the piece itself. so well done. pierced carved,very very well done griffins on each corner of the top crest. great solid tight sconce in the center held up by a wonderful turned column, all fitting perfectly and as

for sale is a very large and useful piece of antique furniture. this is a double secretary bookcase side by side desk. it has many wonderful features including galleries. Carvings, doors, drawers, drop front writing surface, a bank of cubbies, beveled center mirror just to mention a few. note the outside column of the door frame is part of the door and moves as the door moves. it has 4 shelves on each side. i have one out to allow a large porcelain romeo and juliet statue to sit. it has a lot of storage for whatever, i put porcelain in most of my pieces, but it would hold a bunch of books also. it is in near mint condition structure wise. it is quite heavy and is in three pieces which i have pictured. i had to move it out of a down stairs room i am converting to a bedroom. i have gotten too old or too lazy to climb the steps. at any rate, ... morei unloaded it and moved it to another room that really is not a good fit for it at all so i am going to try to sell it. the three sections go together and are held in place by dowels. you then attach screws from the inside of either outside cabinet to secure it to the center section. primarily the screws are just to keep the dowels from pulling out of the piece they slip into. it is large and heavy, it a bit over 62 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 73 inches tall. it has a tyler desk or tyler cabinet co. st. louis, mo. paper label on it when i bought it about 8 years ago. the label was barely hanging on so i took it off and kept it. at this junction however, i do not know what i did with it. i know i have it but have not looked at the right spot yet. i paid 42000 for it like nearly 8 years ago, could have been longer. ihave several pieces displaced and need to dispose of them so i am starting this great piece at 1000 less than i paid. if you note the joints in drawer i pictured you can see they are dowel joints, so i expect it was made prior to 1890, after that time they did factory dovetail. pictures are bad and sorry about the dusk, didn't get the top wiped off i see. it m

One of a kind tramp desk made by marrying two mismatched pieces. Most likely dates from 19th century. Woods used look like pine and oak. Constructed using a combination of woodens pegs. Slotted and round-head screws. Lots of storage space, including 10 pigeon holes and two sections with hinged tops. Turned front legs with tapered square legs in back. This piece is in pretty good condition for its age. But does have some cracking/chipping in a couple of spots- particularly one door is cracked. This well-loved and well-tended piece has been with us for decades; we are offering as part of downsizing for retirement. It is a visually stunning and intricate piece. But has seen use and wear which is apparent to the critical eye(see pictures for the most major flaws) This is a hand-carved two-part sideboard(gallery and base) Circa 1870. A lion-motif pediment was added to the top of the mirrored gallery. Barley-twist column supports flank a 3-section vitrine of beveled mirror and glass. The mirror and glass is original and in excellent condition. Underneath the gallery is an open area with double-turned column supports. The gallery is set upon a single base of carved oak possessing 3 rectangular drawers(the centermost is partitioned inside for holding silverware) and 3 paneled cabinet doors. Plus one long rectangular drawer along the base. ... moreThe drawers flanked by barley rope twist columns; the drawers themselves possess decorative carvings and possess their original brass bail handles with embossed heads in relief. All drawers and cabinets can be open/shut easily(pictures available upon request) Parts of the original brass fixtures have been lost from the cabinet doors and the joins between the gallery column supports and the base of the gallery have lost their original façade decoration and cracked slightly open. Maintaining the original finish requires applying lemon oil 1-2 times a year. Drawers slide smoothly provided the runners are rubbed 1-2 times a year with a bar of hard soap. Gallery Dimensions are 46” H(including pediment) x 57” W x 14” D. Base Dimensions are 37” H x 61” W x 25” D. Total Dimensions are 83” H(including pediment) x 61” W x 21.5” D.

Antique Carved Oak Server Made in England Circa 1880.
This is an amazing Server with superb carvings to the top and base. There are 3 drawers to the base. Which have no handles, but you put your finger under the drawer to pull it out, maybe it was made so children could not pull the drawer out. There are two carved fish either side. And carved faces to the back, which may be the family. The condition is very good. And l would say it was made in England or possibly Wales circa 1870, l purchased it from a house in South Wales UK. The top comes of the base so it is easy to transport. Measurements are 74 long 80 high 24 deep. The base has what we call a dog kennel to the center were the dog would have slept.with two heavily carved doors to either side.

It was purchased over 30 years ago and was on display in our studio until recently. The front contains a lovely brass-ringed Kellogg transmitter and two brass bells while the left side has a single-piece receiver held in place with a brass wishbone-shaped holder. Old real photo postcard of Skelly Gas Station in Oak Hill. Arnolds Park, Iowa, which was an amusement park area. Card has been used, written on back by sender. There is a small blue blur at the top of the postcard and I believe it is a manufacturing flaw. If you run your finger over the top of the card it feels glossy all the way across and this blue does not bleed into the edge or onto the back of the card. Note on back is dated July 7, 1952, so this card is of that time or a bit earlier. Please see my auctions for another real photo gas station postcard. At least thats what it looks like to me. Clock is in normal age shape, with normal age wear and tear. I do estate work and this came directly out of a local home.
