This Eastlake style bookcase once wore 2 glass doors in the front- now it has three open shelves. Old red paint with green bronze corner medallions and trim, and replaced hardware. Two of the 3 shelves are adjustable and are painted red. The base shelf and top and back of the bookcase were not painted and show the original oak. The hardware is old brass and compliments the trim color. Some stains and spots here and there add to the warm charm of this cabinet. We found this beauty in the basement of an old brownstone. Really nice Arts& Crafts Stickely Era quarter sewn oak folding table top book rack with inlaid panels depicting two well dressed gentlemen. This may have been manufactured by Morris& Faulkner but I'm not 100% sure. Item is in original condition and shows some minor wear and few dings. There is a very old repair to one end where the oak split was was glued but it does not detract from the piece. Measures about 16 inches long and stands about 6 inches tall when open. I've had this is my collection for several years but it's time for a new home. I had several volumes of"Little Journeys" displayed in it and it would look great in any Craftsman or Arts& Crafts home.

Oak Barrister Bookcase Book Case Glass Panels Doors Shelves
A beautiful three-shelf solid oak(and oak veneers) barrister's bookcase purchased new in 1997 from a reputable South Bend. Indiana furniture retailer. This piece is in gently used condition. As you can see from a couple of the photos, there is a rectangle of dark space on the top of the piece caused by a lamp resting on the top and sun fading the surrounding area. One of the photos shows a wood stain behind a knob on the center shelf door. This occurred in the manufacturing and is under the polyurethane. There is some minor scuffing along the baseboard of the piece. Glass is very clean and free from scratches. When closed, the doors do a very good job of protecting contents from dust. This is a late 19th century Tiger Oak Side-by-Side Secretary Desk/ Book Case. It is in excellent antique condition overall and loaded with details. The tiger striping feature in the oak is amazing throughout. There is an open upper shelf backed by a shaped beveled mirror. Below the open shelf. On the left, is a four shelf book case with three adjustable shelves and a curved glass door. On the right is a smaller storage compartment with a leaded beveled glass door. Below that is a drop down door that becomes the desk top when opened and reveals five cubbies and a central drawer. Below that are three larger drawers. The drop down and the three large drawers all have locks. All of the locks work and the key is present. Flanking all of this is a pair of Roman columns topped by Ionic capitals that hold up a canopy with an ogee shaped facing edge. ... moreThe two front feet are Empire style scrolls. VERY RARE Antique Oak Murphy Bed Dresser Secretary Desk Book Case 1800's
Extremely RARE Murphy Bed combination that includes built in dresser with drawers. Mirror, bookcase, drop down secretary desk and fold down bed! Incredible quality and workmanship and is perfectly clean and all original finish including glass in bookcase door which is extremely wavy glass. This is a large and heavy piece but rolls easily on it's original heavy steel caster wheels. The whole unit turns easily and the bed folds down easily also as the legs automatically fold down and lock into place. In one of the photos you will see a patent date of 1865 that is on one of the arms that holds the mattress in place. This is simply a wonderful piece of furniture and history during a time of pride of craftsmanship when things simply were not disposable and has thus survived this long for that very reason. No Makers Mark A bit more unique than the ones usually listed here. This one has three seperate cast iron feet that screw onto the turned oak riser. Decorated on the bottom with an acorn. The material on the top of the stand is original. The top piece can be flat or can be tilted as photographed. It turns as well. Condition is very good. The green material has some glue residue. Looks like the spine support in the center of the stand came loose Sturdy now. But 2 small glue spots. Definitely not a deal breaker. The top piece has a slight very slight cant to the left. Of course from supporting so many books read. There is fading around the edges of the ... morematerial. I don't see any other issues. Measurements as photographed: 32 inches tall Base diameter is 17 inches Top piece is 18 x 12 inches The lip is 19 1/2 x 2 inches This piece will be disassembled for shipping.
