There is a small dent inside the bookcase. It appears that something fell on the back of the bookcase. You can't see the dent unless you open the bookcase doors or look at it from behind. There are some holes for screws in the back of the bookcase where you can attach the bookcase to the cabinet, but I don't have the hardware that holds these 2 together. Each piece is labeled with a part number and name, so it appears that they must have been sold separately. This is for local pickup in Irving, TX. The dimentions are 18' deep. 17.5 wide and 31.5' tall. It is fully functional and the file cabinet unit and the card catalog drawers work as intended with the original hardware remaining. Condition: Good original condition with the usual age related scratches and blemishes to the finish. There is dark staining and a little rippling to the veneer on the top. Most of the finish is definately originial. But I'm really not sure if the sides of the file cabinet unit have been refinished at some point. They have the same type of wear as the rest of the unit, but are noticibly lighter than the patina on the rest of the pieces. The brass side bands have oxidation on parts of them. Shipping: Good news.I have all the packing materials and therefore will not charge a wrapping fee. Bad news.this is a heavy piece. About 60 lbs all packaged up so will be expensive to ship. The early editions of the GA magazine were published in 1970's in Japan and unfortunately most of them are now OOP and hard to find even here in Japan. This volume 25 features. Houses in Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois 1889-1913. Includes 32 photo pages including 8 color pages of the interior and exterior of the building, and 6 pages of hand drawn design plans, with an essay titled"The Era Which Became An Epoch" by William Marlin in both English and Japanese. This auction is for a neat smaller size Magazine- Newspaper Rack with Book Shelves from England. For their size. These are super little accent and very useful pieces for your home. It can go onto your den- family room as a magazine- newspaper- Book holder. They look super in your kitchen displaying and holding your favorite cookbooks. In the bathroom, they can be used for magazine- newspaper storage and aslo displaying items on the shelves but they Look Great used to display your pretty rolled-up or folded towels in. This one is in overall good condition without any rot or worm damage. This magazine/book rack is not new or a reproductions. It been around quite a while. Overall. This unit is 17 1/4" wide, 8 1/4" deep and 30" tall. The newspaper/magazine holder is 16 1/2" X 2" and about 10" deep. The top shelf ... moreis 5 3/8" X 16 11/8" the middle shelf is 5 1/2" X 16 1/8" the bottom shelf is 7 7/8" X 16 1/8" It's about 9" between each shelf. The patina is a dark reddish oak and it's a little darker in real life than the pictures show. There is no rot to the oak or worm damage to the oak. Looking"head-on" you should see there is a burned mark on the right riser near the top. How this was done. I have no idea, but none-the-less, it's there. It's easily a non-factor when a picture or something else is placed there. It will have some blemishes to the finish(light or dark spots or marks) nicks, dings& scratches from normal use over the years, but for it's age and travels it's in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. This is a superb 19th century Black Forest oak book stand carved to each end with a large open flower head which sits on a cluster of leaves and with a circular carved branch around. Particularly fine carving with a branch encircling the flower and leaf cluster giving each end lovely pierced decoration. Measures some 6.75" height x 15.75" length x depth of 6" max. Condition is excellent and age commensurate with a small break in a section of the encircling branch to one end and with some nibbling to edges of some leaves. Nothing of any significance. Antique library book or music stand. Probably very early 20th century or slightly earlier. Stand is all cast iron and book shelf is oak. The stand is on wheels, and the casters are in very good shape with no cracks or chips. The shelf parts are oak and have no gouges, carved initials, any writing at all on them. There are no marks as to date or manufacturer. The shelves can be set flat or at angles to hold a book open, and can be moved wider(stretched out) to accomodate large books such as atlases, art books. The stand is adjustable in height and the shelves, which have a narrow edge, can be set at angles or left horizontal. The whole stand can be taken apart for transporting or storage. Antique Oak Book Case with Beveled Glass Front
Antique bookcase with beveled glass fronts on each section. I believe it is oak. But I am not positive. Comes in 6 sections, including the bottom legs, 4 cases, and the top piece. If you want it to be shorter, you can simply remove a case. All of the doors can be swung open and slid back into place, as seen in the last picture. However, most are not perfectly strong and do not slide perfectly into place without a little TLC. Care must be taken when operating them to ensure they do not fall off during the process. One of the glass fronts has some cracks in it, as shown above, but it shows no sign of weakness. There is a very small additional crack on another front as well. Antique Victorian Cast Iron & Oak Adjustable Book Music Bible Stand - No Reserve
Up for auction is a beautiful antique Victorian book stand. It is constructed of cast iron and oak with the base being designed with the pattern sometimes referred to as"Angel Wings" It is adjustable and is in great shape for its age. It has no breaks or damage to the cast iron and a few small age cracks visible on the edge of one side of the oak. It appears it may have been re-finished at some point in the past. Antique Arts& Crafts Era Solid Oak Foldable Bookend Book End Book Rack Stand We took a trip to some unfamiliar shops this weekend and came home with some fabulous items– lots of antiques and uniques for you! I’ll be listing all week. So be sure to check back! Here is a beautiful antique early 1900s oh-so-arts-crafts era book stand for you! Made of solid oak. It folds flat for when not in use. Folded flat, it measures 15" wide by 5 3/4" deep and put up the sides and they are 5 1/8" tall measuring from the bottom of the feet on either end to the top of the sides. It weighs 1 1/2 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally strong and usable. There's very minor wear to the wood and finish- minor scratches, scrapes and finish wear seen mostly on the edges and corners- like the small spots that I'm showing ... morein photo 13. In photo 6 I'm showing you a small shallow mark that appears to me to be a knot in the wood- not a ding- see what you think in my photo. In photo 15 I'm showing what appears to be a couple of teenie white paint plop/brush oop's on one side and in photo 16 you can see some very small chips to the wood on the bottom of that end- they are hard to notice. The two feet on the underside have green felt that is very worn and darkened in some spots, but it still does its job. What more can I tell you?
