Estate-found vintage early twentieth century quartersawn oak three-shelf ... morebookstand with the original finish. It’s a heavy, sturdy little stand with mortised/pinned through construction– the shelves are mortised through the sides and held in place by two wooden tapered pegs each, see photos. It measures 35-3/4” high x 17-1/2” wide x 9-3/4” deep(bottom shelf is slightly deeper than those above) The finish is original with a dry, untouched surface– and a medium dark patina. There are no touch-ups or repairs, there is some light wear from gentle use commensurate with the use of an item approximately 90-100 years old including a few small nicks, edge wear and a tight hairline on the inside top corner from shrinkage of the wood(not structural and does not go through) In addition there are numerous tiny pin/tack holes on the back sides and back of the top& bottom shelves where a backing(possibly cloth or a very thin board or cardboard one was– does not affect the integrity of the piece) It could use a cleaning(has been stored) especially around the pegs where the dust has gathered. it is nice and old. the base is about 66 inches long by 24 inches deep by 29 inches tall. the top part has THREE very thick green glass shelves with some small nicks and chip. the top is about 54 1/2" long by 18 inches deep by 49 inches tall! some top scratches very little veneer missing on bottom of sides of base and not noticeable at all. THEY DID USE A SCREW TO SCREW IT TO THE SIDE BOARD ON TOP. key fits all locks. one pull is missing. the top has old mirror on the inner back and old glass! I cannot help to lift. bring help it is in back in the garage. you don't have to rush to pick it up!

Fancy Antique Brass Cast Iron & Oak Adjustable English Book Music Stand
For your consideration is this very nice antique book stand. It features brass and cast iron construction and was made by Carters Ltd of London. I believe it likely dates to either the very end of the 19th century or near the beginning of the 20th. The fully adjustable oak shelf tilts and swivels and will slide the full length of it's shaft support. The chased brass vertical upright is fully adjustable for height and sits on a fancy cast iron claw and ball footed base. The book shelf which measures 14x9" can be adjusted from 23" to 44" in height and is 33" as shown. The horizontal support is 15" long and the cast iron base is 13x13" Everything remains in very nice functional condition. There is one small area of wear to the brass wrap right at the 90 degree angle of the upright pole. Nothing that detracts ... morewhatsoever. This one is as fancy as it is heavy and stable. Could be used for reading. Playing music or would even work with a tablet or Ipad. The possibilities are endless. Peachy, dandy, cat's whiskers, cool(pick your era) rotating bookcase. Lazy susan type, as it rotates easily(dunno why it spins so effortlessly, I can't hear nor feel ball bearings! The joinery is magnificent dovetail with zero spaces and fillers. It's solid oak. I did rub some finish on it to bring out the fantastic grain and quasi-irridescent effect of old oak.
