ANTIQUE MACEY 98 STACKING BARRISTER BOOKCASE TOP SECTION QUARTER SAWN OAK
Here is a single stacking barrister bookcase top section dating from the Mission. Arts& Crafts era. Made of quarter sawn oak and is marked Macey 98(see pics) The original hardware is all intact and the door works fine, glass not cracked. Total measurement(including top piece) is 34" long x 12" wide x 14 1/4" high. There are some finsh losses and scuffs, with a small long gap and small losses to back side corner areas, otherwise it is in very good condition. See calculated cost for shipping charge and options. RARE antique old vintage Macey stacking barrister bookcase MISSION section + top
Up for auction is a rare 3/4 size mahogany Macey mission-style bookcase section with matching mission-style top. Original glass and hardware. Original finish has the alligator-skin texture to it. The section also has the original Macey label inside it. The top is solid and retains the original brass arm on the back that enabled this bookcase to"attach" to the one next to it. This Macey tiger quartered oak doublewide(barrister) 5-stack bookcase with wooden panes(panels) is a fantastic piece. In great working order; all door mechanics functioning. Ca 1900-1920. Stamped Macey(Fred Macey Mfg Co) Very good to excellent overall condition nicely aged patina inside and out early dark finish and door glass looks to be all original. The close up photos provide extent of wear. But the four photos from 3 to 6 feet of the entire piece and both sides give an idea of the overall appeal. Two small bottom door knobs not original. Top has scratches/scuffs. The bottom legs have dings and normal wear to the finish. There are a few small wood niches on front surface(does not detract from the piece) Insides are very good with minimal wear; backs are very good with one of five stacks having significant rippling(can not see it from ... morethe front or when flush to the wall) Will work with you to arrange pick up at your expense(no shipping) our location is a convenient spot in lower Manhattan NYC; elevator building(no steps) Breaks down into 5 pieces for easy transport. 69” tall. 48” wide and 12.5” deep. Rockwell-Wabash Barrister Bookcase Section Very nice find. Rockwell-Wabash stuff never shows up. Measures out the same as an"E" size Globe Wernicke or Macey. Original finish. Has the step back board, compatible with"E" or"D" size stacks. Quarter sawn oak. Uses a hinge/slide system nearly identical to the early Globe system. NO door knob or glass. With a few bottom parts this would drop right onto a Globe or Macey base. As you can see in the last picture a Globe top(or section) fits nicely on top. The Globe top in the picture is NOT included. The bottom board has been broken then nailed back on backwards, it looks bad like it is but simply needs to be flipped and glued. Globe Wernicke Macey Style Antique Barrister Stacking Bookcase Top & Base
Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. The last photo shows how the top fits on a Macey D12 section, those sections are about 11 1/8"

Original Bookcase Knob This knob was removed from a Globe Wernicke barrister bookcase. The knob pictured is the knob you will receive. Knob is just like it was removed and has not been cleaned. I know it's an original because I am the person who removed it from the bookcase. Dimensions: 19/32" diameter top. 5/16" diameter base. Protrudes 9/16 and the steel lag extends +/= 1/2" Condition: Nice. Has not been cleaned or polished. The mounting lag may be a little bent. See pictures.
