This piece is definitely antique and we would date it to c1900. This lovely French oak bookcase has a lovely mellow tone and great warmth to the timber. It has strong grainlines. And presents as a really solid, beautiful piece, with great functionality. This large. ... moreImpressive piece features turned side columns and a wonderful overhanging carved pelmet. The doors have glass to the top, giving good visibility to books or precious treasures.The lower closed sections of the doors have beautifully carved central panels, the deep carving featuring vases, flowers and foliage. The interior has four(4) fully adjustable shelves, as well as the base of the cabinet, and more shelving could be added for greater storage. There are also two drawers to the base, again with tasteful carving and fittings. Whilst there is a key in the lock, the lock is not working and the key is used only for ease of opening the door. The piece sits on squat bun feet. This gorgeous piece is 209.5cm in height. 152cm at the widest point across the pelmet which extends far wider than the body of the bookcase, which measures approximately 130cm. The cabinet is 47cm deep, but the pelmet is 59.5cm deep.The internal shelf depth is 37cm. This piece is in lovely antique condition. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, solid mahogany, and stripped mahogany veneers, double door bookcase. The case has curved front corners carved with spiraling acanthus leaves. Large carved claw feet are on front. The case sides and the top board are solid mahogany. Each door has the original wavy glass panel, brass escutcheons, and the key(the two locks are missing their catch. each compartment holds three adjustable mahogany stained maple board shelves. It measures 56-1/4" tall by 54" wide by 15" deep, the shelves 11-1/4" deep. Excellent condition: beautiful original finish, no chips or cracks to mahogany boards, veneers without chips. The glass panels are undamaged.

Mid 19th Century Rare Carved Solid Oak Bookcase On Cupboards
Hi. This is a stunning old piece of furniture dating back to mid 19th century. As you can see it's been hand carved with lovely features all around it. It is made from oak so is very solid and heavy but comes in two so it's not to bad to move around. There's is signs of wear around this item as to be expected with age. Also as you can see on my photos there is one of the feet missing but still sits level. Could easily be replaced if need be. Here is a gorgeous solid walnut Empire Revival bookcase from about 1880. Only two shelves are shown in the photos. However, there are four removable/adjustable shelves. The lock sets are original in the door and drawers and there are two keys which fit both. Easy to transport and to break down and set up. This bookcase has the base, the crown and then, basically, a stack of wood to include the two glass doors. Height to the top = 92" Height to top of base = 16 3/4" Depth at base = 20 1/2" Depth at center of bookcase = 13 1/2" Width at the top = 57" Width at base = 51" This beautiful and unusual bookcase came out of a well known estate here in Charleston. This is a carved antique Victorian oak mirror from a side by side or bookcase cabinet. It measures aprox. 19 1/2" wide x 19 3/4" high on the left and is 18" high on the right. You will most likely want to re-finish the frame. The mirror glass is beveled but very foggy and will need to be replaced or re-silvered. Fantastic Bookcase It is with a heavy heart that I am parting with my favorite piece of furniture. This is a great bookcase and it is in exceptional condition. I never thought I would sell. But I am going with a larger one. This is a turn of the century piece, more likely about 1880's, not positive. There are two nicks on the top. One I show in the photo's the other is not really visible due to location. Rock solid piece, glass is great, shelves sit sturdy with no rocking. Drawers work well. Antique French Carved Oak Brittany Bookcase Cabinet Cupboard 19th Cent
We are proud to offer a beautiful original French antique cabinet. Circa early to mid 1800s. Gorgeous and intricate carving. Original wavy glass. This is an imposing and substantial piece. It is in a top and bottom section. The bottom is 39 inches tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The top shelves are 48 inches tall and 43 inches at the widest point(including molding) and 12 inches deep. Overall. It is 87 inches(7 feet, 3 inches) tall and 35 inches wide and 20 inches deep at its extremities. Condition is very good for a piece nearly 200 years old. In certain places you can still see the square-headed nails used in its construction. Of note: The bottom door is stable but can benefit from a re-hinging. There appears to have been a recent(in the last 20-30 years) attempt to re-hinge. Causing a chip in the wood. This can be readily repaired ... moreand we do have the missing chip that can be re-glued. There very top board(above the shelves) is missing. This is not evident unless you open the case and look inside and can be very easily remedied with a painted board. Two small strips of decorative molding at the base are missing(one is lost. The second has fallen off and can be re-applied) Again, given the small size and dark color, not something that is readily evident. The lock is a bit stubborn and might use some oiling. Vintage Philippines Carved Wooden Headboard & Bookcase
Go for some exotic ambience with this unique custom-made all-wood headboard. This item was custom-made between 1976 and 1978. In Angeles City, Island of Luzon, Philippines. It is solid wood, and feature delicate, hand-carved motifs of jungle birds on 4 sliding panels. Tucked on either end of the headboard are two cabinets. The wood is albizia saman(aka rain tree or monkeypod) exotic and native to the jungles of the Philippines. It can also be used as a bookcase. The dimensions are 82" W x 14.5" D x 38" H. Monumental Rosewood Rococo Victorian Carved Bookcase JW Meeks NY
To start with. I have had this bookcase for about 10 years and never finished it till recently and never intended to sell it. Now the time comes to move to another home and there is no place that will accommodate it hence it has to go. It's a killer piece and makes a room aglow. Made of rosewood and rosewood veneer the quality is great. Four bolts and a few screws hold the whole thing together. Simply take screws out of the two back panels and then unbolt the bolts and it comes apart into nine individual pieces for ease of transport. Very strong attribution to JW Meeks of NY as you look at the construction and carvings. Super carved crest tops this magnificent example of American furniture history. It's not pictured but I have yet to put the center mullion strip on the right door and that closes the gap between the doors. I also found that too few shelves were included for my purposes, so I made a few additional ones and used it in my retail store to display cassettes, minidiscs, open reel tape and batteries.
