A most unusual antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak three door china cabinet(may be used as a bookcase) with a base compartment across for linens. One piece construction. The three doors open to a compartment that has five adjustable shelves across. There is a key for the doors with brass escutcheons(the left door is missing the lock. The cornice, upper door frames, and the base front, are deeply carved. It measures 6'8" 80" tall by 5'5" 65" wide by 22" deep, the plate grooved shelves 5-1/2" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, oak boards without damage(horizontal crack to the very top board. All three original wavy glass panels are fine.

The top is what is called"spoon carved" and each side of the front has pretty fluting cut into each plank. The shelves are fixed in place and do not adjust. This would make a wonder ful over a tanle in an entry as well as in your family room or country kitchen. Antique Anglo Indian Oriental Carved Teak Dragon Revolving Desk/Tabletop Bookcase. This stunningly carved revolving desktop bookcase is heavily carved with dragons in an oriental style. Made in Kashmir by Canemede(still has original label)Probably dating around the 1920s. The bookcase is quite solid and heavy.Indicating a hardwood of teak or similar.Weighing at 2.710 kilos unwrapped. The top is a carved dragon in high relief with carved bamboo edging and with four fretted carved support panels also with dragons. The condition of the bookcase is very good with only a little damage on the top dragon.And a little loss of wood to a side panel(see photo 12)Nothing major,but noted. 19th C. Hand Carved Desktop Expandable Folding Bookcase - Floral & Vase Pattern
We are very pleased to offer a mid-to-late 1800s hand carved desktop folding bookcase that expands to hold more volumes as needed. The exterior ends have a floral and vase relief pattern and fold inward on brass hinges. The interior is chip carved and scribed with geometric patterns. And a fitted strip in the center pulls outward from one end to double the shelf area. The piece measures 18-1/4" across(not expanded) by 5-1/4" wide by 8" tall, and is in very good condition, with no damage and minor surface wear. The cabinet in two parts; to the top is a stepped cornice, below are three carved Medieval style heads with four panels of tortoiseshell framed in ebony'Dutch Ripple' molding.
