Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of very highly polished brass. I have had many calls for these base knobs in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers as the only source was robbing original bases for these knobs. DO NOT BE FOOLED! And I think it is mahogany, but it is possible it is maple with a mahogany stain. It measures 34-3/8 inches long, 11-1/2 inches deep, and is 7 inches tall. It has a very dark finish, as you can see in the photos, and there is some glue residue dripping down the inside of the legs. Please see the photos for a more accurate description of the condition. Thanks for taking the time to view our posting. We are proud to offer for your consideration this unique antique five stack lawyers bookcase. A great piece of furniture from ca. 1930's- 1950's and perfect as a display for books or other small collectibles! Solid wood cabinet sections and shelves in a dark stain. I think the wood is mahogany but it could also be walnut? In any case. A beautiful dark color. The five stacks/sections come apart and the top/cap and the base are separate pieces so technically it breaks down into seven pieces. Thick. Original beveled glass in all five sections(sorry, the bevel doesn't show well in my pics but it's there) All original metal(probably brass) knobs in a dark. Bronze like finish. All five lift up doors work smoothly. Solid. Sturdy construction. Nice curved detail on apron beneath top. ... moreUnlike most lawyers bookcases. This one has a large lower section that adds great character! The piece is in very good condition with only age appropriate wear.on the upper section in my pics. On one side, there are two scratches. These are shallow but they do show. They could easily be restrained to match the finish and would not be noticeable all but I have left it as I bought it. Also. On the tip of the right hand upper casing, there is some minor wear where the finish has been rubbed off but this could also be re-stained pretty easily. The backs of each section and the top of the cap piece are a thinner wood. Veneer like. The wood on the top of the cap is slightly warped but still intact.when put together. The piece is so tall that you don't see the top at all and it obviously is sturdy enough to hold a bit of weight as you can see in my pics that I keep multiple pieces on display there. Assembled. Measures 68.5" high and 32.5" wide and 19.25" deep. Each of the four top sections/stacks separately measures 13.75" high. 13.25" deep and 32.5" wide. Antique Oak Macey 8" Barrister Bookcase Section w/ Leaded Glass
Up for sale is an antique Macey Bookcase section from Circa 1910. It has leaded glass and is all original. The dimentions are 11" tall(roughly 8.5" inches for interior book room) 33.5" wide, and 11.5" Deep. Similar to a Globe Wernicke D-8 section, but not quite compatible if stacked with a Globe Wernicke due to a slight difference in how the top of the doors are made. The"Macey" stenciling exists inside of the bookcase, along with"98. Condition: All original. In very good condition. Original finish and glass. The finish is slightly alligatored, but the quarter-sawn oak still shines through nicely. The leaded glass has a crack on one of the larger panes, as well as one of the small triangels. There's a couple spots of flaking to the leadwork(see picks, lighter spots. There is a section of green paint ... moreon the back of the bookcase and the very back of the copper band where it folds around the back. That's it- all mechanisms original and work nicely. Shipping: No wrapping charge as I have the packing materials. I will remove the door and wrap that between two pieces of styrofoam to prevent the glass from bending inward during transit(old leadwork not reinforced and protected during transit is bad) Shipping will be via FedEx ground to the lower 48 USA only. No international shipments or out of the lowe 48. Pickups welcome. Shipping is at cost. And it will be packaged in a 20 X 20 X 42 box. Large Pair 1900's Quarter Sawn Oak Three Section Multi Shelf Bookcase Salvage
Our last salvage job. An early 1900's home, brings this lovely pair of quarter sawn oak bookcases. First photo shows one in the home. From a library, the pair flanked a beautiful mantel. At each end of the room, a panel of oak that sat at the end of the bookcase, along with another long horizontal panel along the top. Measures 5' high, 8' wide, and 13-1/4" deep. Is divided into three sections, with notched shelf holders as seen in the photos. Have the shelves as well as the drawers that are along the bottom, a couple of the pulls are missing. In great condition. Adding more photos soon. Will list the mantle with alcove, beams, windows and more from this exquisite room. Antique Gunn Barrister Bookcase 4 Section Oak w/Original Glass Smooth Doors
We are pleased to offer to the market this great antique barrister bookcase. This ca. 1901 case bears the Gunn Mfg. Co. tag with a mfg date of 1901. Constructed from tiger oak this piece is solid and in amazing condition for the age. The doors have the original glass and the finish is also original on this. This measures 34 1/8" wide x 14 1/8" deep x 55.5" high. The top three sections are 8.75" high inside and the bottom section is 10.75" high inside. These have a book depth of 10.5" There are a couple of chips in the veneer on the back sections and there is some light bubbling to the finish on the top as well as paint speckles on the top. There are some age appropriate scratches as well. This is being sold as a local pickup only. If you would like to make arrangements on your own to have this shipped. This is a ca. 1900-1905 Fred Macey"D" 12" Stacking Bookcase Section. It has a golden oak finish. Measuring 11.5" Deep, 34" Wide, and 14.5" tall, 12" interior book height. The Macey stamp under the section reads"Macey Sectional Bookcase 4B" Its in overall very good condition with original finish. It has the double oxidized copper pulls. Condition: The overall original finish appears a little"dry" lost luster slightly) and has slight alligatoring. Original wavy glass and all original hardware including the back metal strap at the bottom of the back plywood that keeps it from warping over time and fits snuggly into the next bookcase section. It has the original spring loaded doors that still work. Note: there is a very small sliver/chip missing from the side of the door near the top that ... moreis barely visible from the front(see last photo.
