Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. Here is a terrific late 19th to early 20th century Empire style three section one piece walnut bookcase with fluted columns. Octagonal feet with casters and dentition across the top of the front as well as old glass. This large functional old bookcase stands 65 inches tall and measures 74 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, with the feet being it's widest point. The top board on the bookcase itself is 72 inches long and 17 inches deep front to back. Inside the bookcase, the internal measurements of the bookcase on each end is 23 inches wide by 56 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches deep, while the central section measures the same height and depth but is 22 inches wide. Each of the three sections offers it's base as well as three additional adjustable shelves for storing books, with each of the shelves measuring 12 inches deep with ... morean additional inch beveled edge at the front. The old glass is completely intact and free of any cracks or breaks. The bookcase does have old lock mechanisms but I have not located a key to work them at this point. Overall this bookcase is in very good condition for it's age, with only two small spot across the front with any damage to the veneer and potential easy restorations if the new owner desired. There are a few minor nicks and small scratches to one side of the case but otherwise this bookcase is in very good condition for a piece it's age. Sections stack together solidly and all the door opening mechanisms work great. The top has a few scratches(see photo 7) I believe this bookcase has the original finish and has not been restored at all. It really is gorgeous. Made from Quartersawn Oak- this cabinet exhibits some absolutely beautiful tiger-striping. 3) sections are D-8 1/2 and(1) section is D- 12 1/2. The top is a D-X section. Up for consideration is a fine Oak Arts Crafts 4 stack barristers or stacking bookcase. The bookcase stands 50 1/2 inches tall by 34 inches wide. Each Stack is labelled with a paper label to the interior. Each Section is stacked on the other and they are different dimensions. The bottom section being 15 inches tall the two center sections being 13 inches tall and the top one being 11 inches. The depth is 11 inches deep and the overall depth at the feet is 12 1/2 inches. The bookcase has a patent date on the door sliding mechanism of 1908. The finish is excellent. It is original dark brown varnish with extra clean interior coloration. This all metal barrister bookcase has 4 modular sections and should fit in most any car. The base has some small amount of surface rust on the four feet and just a few small spots here and there. The back leg against the wall would have the most and there are closeups of all the legs. All restorable. Measures 33” wide X 13” deep X 71 1/2” high. You can also stack less if you don’t need all four sections. The interior height is 12” and the depth is 11 7/8” The glass is not damaged and the doors work fine. Just needs a very minor clean up. Globe-Wernicke & Macey Barrister Bookcase Section and base - 8 inch inside depth

This base section is marked Globe-Wernicke. I do not see any maker's name on the bookcase section but am sure it is Macey- both fit together well. I believe I refinished both of these about 35 years ago when I did a lot of restoration work with barrister's book case sections- they are ready to use. They are the standard length of about 34 inches. But I believe the 8 inch inside depth is narrower than most Globe-Wernicke sections I used to have. To be more specific. The measurement from the inside face of the door to the front of the back panel is 8 inches. The overall height of the bookcase section measured on the outside at one end is about 10.5 inches. early 20th century oak Barrister's bookcase section, NR
This is one section of a barrister's bookcase which dates from the late 19th century or early 20th. It came along as an unsuitable addition to a barrister's bookcase that I bought for myself. And since it did not actually fit that bookcase I naturally separated it, and now have no use for it. So it's offered here starting low and with no reserve, cause it's just taking up space and I want it out of here. Note that this is a pickup only item, since it would be a lot of work to ship it for not much money. If you really want it shipped, contact me and we might be able to work something out for a higher price. It's in useable though not perfect condition; enlarge the photos for more detail about that. The hinges by which the door swings out and slides into the body work fine. No markings that I can see. Dimensions: 34" ... morewide by approximately 11 1/2" deep(across the bottom.
