All sections are the very desirable Grade 299(quarter ... moresawn/tiger oak with the medium finish) Has the very desirable ogee(curved) top and bottom. All sections are size D-10 1/4. Bookcase is ALL ORIGINAL. Original finish. Original wavy glass, original knobs on the doors. Bookcase is ALL COMPLETE. All labels are present and intact. All glass is present(no cracks or breaks) All felt along the tops of the doors is complete and intact. All scissors mechanisms are present. All acid-etched side bands are correct and present. I rescued over 20 sections from a storage room of an old Chicago school library, and these 6 sections were in the best condition. Condition of the sections is way above average for their age. After 100 years the finish on these cases has usually"alligatored" Not here. Although there are the usual scratches and chips in the finish, which is to be expected(there is a rub of white paint on the right side of one section shown in the photos) the outside finish is overall extremely smooth with a nice gloss. The very top has the most wear and scratches as the librarians slid and stacked items on top of the cases. There is also the reside from 2 old pieces of cellophane tape on the front of the top. I can find no delamination of the back panels, nor any bubbling of the veneer on the very top. Being in a library for so many years has preserved them nicely. Overall size of the bookcase is 84" tall x 34" wide x 12" deep. If you need more photos. Or have additional questions, please email me. These shelves were previously owned by a retired judge for Mercer county. This vintage bookcase is in excellent condition- all shelves have the original glass(wavy from time) original knobs, and all labels are present. The metal side bands are all present and genuine with no rust, and have not had the original patina polished away as some have. The oak wood shows an all original finish with a wonderfully rich coloring- it has not been refinished, or retouched in any way. It has all of the qualities and markings that make it a most desirable piece. Condition: Used Location: Olathe, United States This is a great carved quartered oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacking bookcase. This outstanding stacking desk bookcase ... moreis one of the nicest we have ever seen. It has leaded glass windows in the top two sections below the molded top. The carved fall board has a key that opens or locks the desk section. Inside are two strong desk lid supports and a nice set of pigeon holes with a single pencil drawer-fitted interior. The desk section sits above two full width drawers. The top drawer is shaped to fit the curve. The second drawer is carved to accent the fall board. Both drawers have original brass handles. The lowest section is an extra tall one with a"blind" door or wood paneled door to prevent breakage from feet. The entire piece sits on a molded base section. Quartersawn oak is showcased through the entire piece which is in excellent condition. I believe this case was made by the Viking Company. Overall dimensions are 34 wide, 15 deep, and 69 high. This model was owned by the Bethlehem Steel Company and used as a then start of the art portable office for various clerical employees duties when their jobs required their moving around the massive plants' building and grounds. Original Oak Arts& Crafts/ Mission Barrister Stacking Lawyer Bookcase Top by Macey(like Globe. Ogee, etc. This is an original Macey bookcase top. This is from the quartersawn oak models(many of them had claw-footed bases and vertical veneer drawers) Very hard to find item. As you can see in photos. The label has worn off some, but you can still make out the Macey name. I am not sure what letter size this is, but the dimensions seem to correspond with size D. Overall measures approx: 34" long x 15" deep x 3 2/16" high Underside frame that fits onto the case measures approx: 34" long x 14" deep As shown in photos. This is in used condition and shows wear. The front profile looks very good for its age and should blend very well with well kept bookcases. The top veneer shows more wear than the front with discoloration, ... morenicks and scratches and some splits, but if this is an issue, you could rejuvenate it with stain and oil/ shellac/ polyurethane. If you want a uniform look, you could lightly sand the entire surface and then add stain, plus sealant. However, because this is the top of a bookshelf you will likely rest items on it to cover imperfections, or it will be so high up that no one will see it. The rest of the top looks to be in normal used condition for its age. Some nails have pushed out and may need to be gently hammered back in place(though I think I got all of them) Please examine close ups of all photos and ask all questions. Questions? Remember. There is no tag on the underside of this unit to tell us but we know from the four small tacks, this is where the label was, it has been torn off, but it does reveal its made by Globe Wernicke and its obvious that the wood is mahogony. This auction is for the top only, the base is in one photo but its only there for display purposes, the base will be offered in another auction. This top an the base being offered in another auction is definately a leg up on putting together a 3/4 size mahogony stacking bookcase. Some Oak, some Mahogany, 2 have labels that say pattern 111, 6 say pattern c-11, 4 are unmarked with no labels but Im pretty certain they are all G W. I am pleased to offer a very fine antique miniature bookcase similiar to the Globe Wernicke bookcases! The bookcase has three shelves with brass knobs to pull the shelves out and upwards and are covered with thin sheets of selenit on the backsides- a mineral often used instead of glass. The condition is very good with signs of age and handling. The width measures a bit over 6" the height measures 9 1/8" and the depth measures 2 1/4" on the bottom and 1 7/8" on the top.

Located in Edmonds Washington 98020. This Highly collectible Vintage Antique Stacking Sectional Bookcase. By Globe Wernicke. The wood is in very good condition. The glass doors need to be cleaned. But are in great shape. No cracks or chips in the glass. Universal 13 inch unit-Pattern 813-GRADE is: 4098 1/2 4 Sections High with Top& Base. By 1936. GW had introduced the Ambassador style, which appears to be Universal style book sections with a different style base and top. The sections have metal strips(often called“straps” that cover the joints between the sections. And also serve to lock one stack to another stack next to it. These straps are finished in what GW called an“oxidized” finish. Knobs are typically made of brass. RARE 3/4 width(25" Globe-Wernicke top in solid Maple(style 598 1/2) In great shape considering it is 100+ years old. Original finish w/original tag. This is a size"D" depth top. Little dusty and could benefit from some light cleaning. There are scratches consistent with age and there appears to be some uneven aging to the stain on the top(as if there were books placed on the top and not moved for years. Exposing some of the top to sun and other parts not so much) You should be able to see this in the pictures. No water, mold damage. I also have the corresponding base for auction as well. These materials are far superior to the original production materials used by Globe Wernicke®. These steel shoulder screw assemblies are high grade stainless steel and the bushings are oil impregnated bronze(therefore self lubricating) The washers are stainless steel as well. Installed these look almost identical in color to the original production pieces unlike the other replacement bearing assemblies out there being offered today. These are far superior in terms of function over the original materials.
