A total of 6 adjustable(2 for each section) removable shelves are found in this phenomenal bookcase/china cabinet. The dimensions of the 4 adjustable side section shelves are 10” in depth by 18” in width and the dimensions of the 2 adjustable center section shelves are 11 ¾” in depth by 23” in width. Please note that this piece will break down into 5 pieces for transport(top, bottom, 3 glass doors) Elegant details found on this Fabulous Walnut Victorian Triple Door Bookcase/China Cabinet with Three Drawer Cabinet Base(Circa: 1870) The top is graced with elegant dimensional crown moulding. You will notice the beautiful dimensionally carved acanthus scroll sconces that accent the top sides of the center door. Lovely raised triangular-shaped panels also adorn the top of the center door. Each of the lovely bookcase doors are holding their original wavy glass and graced with applied moulding. Accented with rosette roundels along with incised fluted details. There are a total of six adjustable storage/display shelves. Additional storage opportunity is found large bottom compartment with doors and in the three handsome dovetailed drawers on top. Beautiful vintage Shaw Walker bookcase. The piece is comprised of 5 stacked parts(4 shelves plus the cap at the top) which are held together by dowels. Making it easy to transport and reassemble, even for one person. The piece is in fair condition; the wood shows signs of light wear. One of the doors sags a little when slid into the frame, two of the pulls need repair, and a couple of the dowels that hold the levels together are missing. The number"2" has been marked on the inside of two of the shelves. Even unrestored it's a beautiful and functional vintage piece. With a little retouching it would be like new. More notably, one of the shelves shows a white mark and a small piece of the lower-right base is missing; judging by its shape, this piece was likely a knot in the wood, which naturally fall out as the decades pass. These marks lend this Victorian mahogany bookcase its genuine antique character, making it a piece that is both beautiful and charming. The shelves, in any case, are all beautifully finished, an unusual show of craftsmanship that is only employed in fine furniture. Adding to the ageless beauty of this mahogany bookcase is its sturdy construction. The solid wood remains quite strong. So the shelves are certainly able to bear weight. I am selling an solid wood antique book case with carved claw feet. It was my grandmother's and was given to me when she passed away. I love this bookcase but I have no where to keep it and it has been sitting in storage since it was given to me. It is probably mahogany but maybe walnut. It is has two glass doors and locks. I should have the key. It has cast iron spoon shaped shelf pins which from what I have researched are from the early 1900's. There is a ding on the outside of the right door which is visible in the pictures and it is missing the door pull but is in good condition given its age. It would look absolutely stunning if refinished. It has beautiful carved details both on the doors and on the feet. Really a very lovely piece. This Original Secretary has 3 bottom drawers. A fabulous middle desk section with a pull-out writing desk surface board, 2 upper glass display doors, the Correct Matching Top Crown& all over FANCY Applied Carvings! This beautiful piece of furniture is ALL ORIGINAL& it measures approx. 41" wide by 93" high by 21-1/2" deep. This piece has applied carvings of which there are NONE missing ~& ... moreit has the original fancy key that works on all 4 keyhole locks/openings. Inside there still remains the original desk partitions/compartments& this fantastic piece is ready to use. Drop down desk with wood cubbies or dividers and a center compartment with a door. 3 wavy drawers underneath and a 3 shelf glass cabinet above. Awesome claw feet. Very sturdy. Desk portion has some areas that show a white discoloration. Looks as if someone put something hot on it. Also small metal hardware piece around key hole on bottom drawer is missing. Still very minor and does not take from the beauty of this piece. Overall. In very good vintage condition with a few very minor dings consistent with age. Measures 78" tall to the top of the finial x 28" wide.
