Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. ANTIQUE CHINA GLASS DISPLAY CABINET MAHOGANY BOOKCASE CHIPPENDALE BALL & CLAW
This is a stunning probably early to mid 19th century Chippendale style solid mahogany cabinet. It consists of two pieces. The top has two large doors with 20 individual panes of glass which are individually glazed and create with the unusual framing a very interesting pattern. A few of the panes have been replaced. A few parts of the framing around glass have also been replaced/repaired. The doors will lock with the original lockset and key. It may be originally of UK origin and possibly Irish. I have not nailed down where it was built but it came from a prominent Charleston estate. The base has two hand dovetailed and very roomy drawers.and the secondary wood is pine. There is a cool carved and shaped skirt in front and on the sides and the legs are cabriole which end in carved ball and claw feet.which are fabulous and detailed. The drawer ... morehardware is new. The finish is original. The lighter parts of the mahogany absolutely represent that rich patina that is only achieved over many. Many years. Inside. The four shelves can be set up for your needs as they are adjustable. There are either plate rails or part of plate rails on each shelf. which seem to be original. Each shelf is 43" long by 8" wide. The back is made of 2 20 1/4" wide and at least 1/2" thick hand chamfered boards. Victorian walnut 2 door/ 2 drawer bookcase with non-original glass in the doors. Door with the lock is slightly off kilter. As it closes poorly and the lock won't match up[its off about 3/32 or less] properly. 4 shelves[original] and original hardware too. There are some issues with the finish on the top of the case[showing a degree of"alligatoring" but I am loathe to disturb antique finishes myself, preferring someone more qualified to make things right. When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. Oak Barrister Bookcase Book Case Glass Panels Doors Shelves
A beautiful three-shelf solid oak(and oak veneers) barrister's bookcase purchased new in 1997 from a reputable South Bend. Indiana furniture retailer. This piece is in gently used condition. As you can see from a couple of the photos, there is a rectangle of dark space on the top of the piece caused by a lamp resting on the top and sun fading the surrounding area. One of the photos shows a wood stain behind a knob on the center shelf door. This occurred in the manufacturing and is under the polyurethane. There is some minor scuffing along the baseboard of the piece. Glass is very clean and free from scratches. When closed, the doors do a very good job of protecting contents from dust. This is a pretty quartered quarter sawn oak barrister bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase or stacked bookcase. A graduated style with three different heights for each stack; more versatile and functional piece. Each of the stacks have original leaded glass in perfect condition. We have refinished this piece and it has a smooth authentic finish. Note the drawer in the base. The original metal'leopard' side bands, original brass pulls, and the beading on the underside of the top. This piece was manufactured by the Macey Co of Grand Rapids, MI(a competitor of Globe Wernicke) Size of the interior of the units is 9.5 deep and 32.0 wide. Hi. This is a lovely antique quarter sawn oak Barrister Bookcase. Professionally restored keeping in mind the integrity of the piece. No Mfg. Label but Gunn Furniture Company was best known for using the side slide mechanism(which this one has) for the doors rather than the scissor type. Beautiful quarter sawn oak case with 3 stacks and original wavy glass. The top 2 cases are 11 inches high able to hold books 8 1/2 inches high. The bottom case is larger at 15 inches high and able to hold books 13 1/2 inches tall. The case together measures 34 1/4 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches deep including curved over hang top and bottom. Here is a terrific late 19th to early 20th century Empire style three section one piece walnut bookcase with fluted columns. Octagonal feet with casters and dentition across the top of the front as well as old glass. This large functional old bookcase stands 65 inches tall and measures 74 inches wide by 18 inches front to back, with the feet being it's widest point. The top board on the bookcase itself is 72 inches long and 17 inches deep front to back. Inside the bookcase, the internal measurements of the bookcase on each end is 23 inches wide by 56 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 inches deep, while the central section measures the same height and depth but is 22 inches wide. Each of the three sections offers it's base as well as three additional adjustable shelves for storing books, with each of the shelves measuring 12 inches deep with ... morean additional inch beveled edge at the front. The old glass is completely intact and free of any cracks or breaks. The bookcase does have old lock mechanisms but I have not located a key to work them at this point. Overall this bookcase is in very good condition for it's age, with only two small spot across the front with any damage to the veneer and potential easy restorations if the new owner desired. There are a few minor nicks and small scratches to one side of the case but otherwise this bookcase is in very good condition for a piece it's age. Sections stack together solidly and all the door opening mechanisms work great. The top has a few scratches(see photo 7) I believe this bookcase has the original finish and has not been restored at all. It really is gorgeous. Made from Quartersawn Oak- this cabinet exhibits some absolutely beautiful tiger-striping. 3) sections are D-8 1/2 and(1) section is D- 12 1/2. The top is a D-X section. One section has the really hard-to-find leaded glass diamond pattern. Glass has a nice subtle wavy effect. Overall measurements are 34" Wide x 12" Deep x 59 1/2" Tall. Local Pick Up. However. Antique large 7" high seceraty desk bookcase. It's a nice looking piece. I believe it is mahogany but am unsure. I do not know the maker or style of this particular piece as it is heavy and I couldn't find any markings in the places that were accessible to me. We bought this quite awhile ago an estate sale. It does need some restoration as the bookcase seems to have been repainted a few times. As the main color is scratching showing a lime green paint underneath it. The 27 slots are part of the bookcase area. The desk below has two drawer. It would beautiful if one can bring this gorgeous peice back to a more original state. The bookcase is 58" high, 42" across and 12" deep containing 3 shelves as well as the slots. the lower portion detaches and is 30" high 42" across and 20' deep. The bookcase has ... morea crack in the glass. The bottom drawers need to be fixed up a little as they do not slide easily in and out. I pulled the drawers out and seen that the braces need to be reinforced/ Still in spite of it's flaws it still looks very handsome. Hello this auction is for a super nice vintage secretary writing desk bookcase. This beautifull piece comes complete with a double sided glass bookcase curio for storage. Im not sure of the exact age so please you be the expert. This piece is in super condition with no major breaks. Cracks, damage or repairs. The desk is complete with 5 pigeon holes 3 small and 2 larger. Below the desk are 3 very nice sized drawers. The glass curio doors do lock as well as the desk top door and the key will be included. The actual dimensions of this piece are 46" wide, 45" high and 13" deep. The desk is 19" wide and 13" deep and 23" deep when in open position. Pay attention to the stunning carved details above desk and doors as it is unbelievable. Curvet Glass Modern CD Storage Tower, Bookcase
A graceful glass storage tower that is as beautiful as it is functional. It is about 8 years old. From Curvet USA a division of Curvet Italy. Made entirely 1/2" glass pieces that are fixed and bonded together. The glass is clear but has that sublime green cast that you get with good quality thick glass. It stands 58" tall, has 7 shelves that are 8.5" wide and high, with 8" usable space, on a round glass base that 15.5" at it's widest, but is flat on the back to allow it to stand closer to the wall. If you look at the side view, notice the curved line from the top to the 2nd shelf. It was designed as a CD storage tower but really works for any media storage, book case or a art display case. 54337 ANTIQUE 1900 MAHOGANY 48" BOOKCASE W 2 LEADED GLASS TULIPS DOORS
An antique. Circa 1900, mahogany stained maple double door bookcase. The doors have upper leaded glass design of tulip and leaf, the tulips with beveled glass. There are two interior sections each with three adjustable removable shelves. The case has front corner columns with carved capitols, and paw front feet on casters. Cabinet measures 5' 60" tall by 4' 48" wide by 14" deep, the shelves 10" deep. Very good condition: original finish- some minor stain or ring spot on the top, maple without chips or cracks. Crack to a leaded glass petal and crack to tip of a tulip petal. All leading original and secure. The glass door panels are fine and original. The doors have had their locks removed, each door now with glass handles that replace the original metal handles.
