Barrister's Bookcase - Oak Finish - Exc Cond -Glass Pulldown Doors w/One Leaded
This is a used Barrister style bookcase in excellent condition. It is oak finish with glass pull down doors. The top door is leaded/ beveled glass. I used it to store movies instead of books. There are four shelves about 12" deep. I had VHS tapes and DVD's stacked two rows deep. From memory it is about 5' tall and over 3' wide. I can measure next time I am at the storage unit. Here is a hard-to-find curved glass door for a 1890's- 1900's oak side by side Secretary/ Bookcase/ China cabinet. It is made of oak- quarter sawn on the top and bottom curved boards and straight sawn on the sides. All original with the original shellac finish. Latch but no handle or hinges. Some shellac on the glass(removable) Glass in good shape. Now the important part: It measures 27 7/8" tall. From the outside corners across the back is 16" wide. The hinge mortice is 1 1/2" and starts at 2" from either end. The lock hole is at just over 15" on center. Shipping is high because it's going to take a lot to box it to prevent breakage.

Holy hotness! For sale is one of two fully-restored General Fireproofing 3-tier metal lawyers bookcases. Professionally painted in an RAL 3001 Signal Red catalyzed lacquer. Each bookcase has three identical sections with glass doors that flip up and slide back. The glass has been thoroughly cleaned and the original aluminum pulls have been polished. Each one also has a metal plug on the bottom section where a lock or something used to be. Each section is attached to the other with four small metal screws. While they have been professionally restored. One does have a couple of minor imperfections, namely two very shallow impressions on the very top; one of about and inch and a half wide near one end and another tiny 1/4" ding. This is a vintage Mayer& Thalheimer of Baltimore Stacking Barristers Bookcase. It measures 75 3/8" Tall-34" Wide-9 1/2" Deep. It will accommodate a 10 1/2" tall book. Four of the Five sections have the original wavy glass. The center ones glass has been replaced at some point. The bottom section has a different Mayer& Thalheimer tag than the top sections and has a different coloration on the back as you can see so it may be a marriage though it fits perfectly. Condition is very good. I've enjoyed it for many years but am moving to a smaller home and don't have a place for it. I'm not offering shipping but can be accommodating on working out delivery.

But it is a neat old bookcase or display case and you could use it for something other than a radio-obviously. 5 Piece Lighted Wall Unit, Glass Doors, Bookcase, Entertainment Center
This wall unit doesn’t fit into our new apartment so regrettably. We have to sell. The wall units are a set, but of course they are separate pieces. Each unit is 80 inches high. This is pressed wood with brass accents. The total of all five pieces in a row, as in the pictures, is 138 inches long and 19 inches deep. The three central units are 34 inches wide and each corner unit is 18 inches wide with a beautiful curved side. If you notice in pictures there is damage in two places: a piece of glass is broken from the corner of one of the glass doors and there is residue of a book support on one of the shelves. The wall units are very heavy. But they are on the ground floor and can be easily transported. I paid almost $2500 for the set, but we need to leave and are letting it go for $450. This is an especially nice quartered quarter sawn oak barrister bookcase. Many of these barristers were made by Globe Wernicke or Macey-I do not know who manufactured this bookcase. Piece is quite unusual with leaded and beveled glass doors in each section. In addition. The top is a pretty carved design rather than the more common plain design normally seen. Piece has been refinished and is in perfect condition with a smooth and even finish. Note the'bullnose' top and also the piece has a drawer in the bottom section. This is certainly a very fine quartered quarter sawn oak Danner bookcase. Interesting sliding door bookcase(works perfectly) which we have refinished with a smooth and even finish. Danner bookcases were made in Ohio in the early 20th century. This model has the original leaded glass windows on the top section and the original plain glass windows in the bottom section. They do not seem as old as 1870. There are also some age separations on the bottom panels of both doors which can be seen in the photos. An antique Walnut Cabinet with Glass Doors on the front. With both shelf and drawer space, circa 1850. We are pleased to present this antique Walnut Cabinet for your consideration. It features four adjustable shelves in the interior(plus one at the bottom that is not adjustable) In addition. There are two drawers at the bottom. The shelves are protected behind two glass doors, which makes this piece ideal for use as a display cabinet or book shelf needing dust protection for the contents. Ornate wood trim is found over the upper portions of both doors. The shelf adjustment system is shown as an inset to our picture#5. A small board fits into slots found at the front and back. The board then provides support for the shelf above. The two large doors have a locking mechanism. But the key appears built in. It does not look like it is original ... moreto the piece. The trim plate on the lock is free to spin around, but in good physical shape(it needs to be secured with a couple of small nails) The two lower pieces of glass show substantial"ripple" Typical of antique glass production. It is much less obvious on the upper two pieces, and we guess that they were replaced more recently. The trim over the upper glass has some splits and shade differences, suggesting repairs or replacements have been made. The drawers at the bottom appear to have their original hardware. Each has a large lock mechanism in the center. But we do not have the matching key. Handles are quite heavy and substantial, with large ornate plates behind the handles. The fronts of the drawers are covered with a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer, which shows some small chips around the edges. Dovetail joints are found at the front, with more of a box style joint found at the back(see pictures#8 and#9 for close up detail) The Cabinet measures 78 inches high(68 inches exclusive of the trim piece at the back edge of the top. Large carved claw feet are on front. The case sides and the top board are solid mahogany. Each door has the original wavy glass panel, brass escutcheons, and the key(the two locks are missing their catch. each compartment holds three adjustable mahogany stained maple board shelves. It measures 56-1/4" tall by 54" wide by 15" deep, the shelves 11-1/4" deep. Excellent condition: beautiful original finish, no chips or cracks to mahogany boards, veneers without chips. The lock sets are original in the door and drawers and there are two keys which fit both. Easy to transport and to break down and set up. This bookcase has the base, the crown and then, basically, a stack of wood to include the two glass doors.
