Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. This wonderful item features all individual panes of bubble glass. Carved broken arch pediment, 4 doors on the top, 2 doors on the bottom, 5 dovetailed drawers, drop front leather top writing surface, brass hardware, beautiful wood grain, and ample shelving. Each of the drawers has a working lock and the key is included. There are 3 glass shelves on the upper center and 6 wood shelves in the upper left and right unit. Each of lower doors conceals one wood shelf. The upper unit is lighted but the current cord should be replaced. This item is in wonderful antique condition with only minor signs of age appropriate wear as pictured. The original antique bubble glass is free from breaks or damage which is very hard to come by. The backing to the upper unit looks to be lined in a off white colored wall paper and there is a red drip stain to this surface as seen in image#18 on the lower left side. Wear to the finish on one of the shelves can also be seen in image#18. Breakfront measures 92"h x 72"w x 16"d in total. The upper unit measures 56"h x 70"w x 12"d. The lower unit measures 36"h x 72"w x 12"d. I have added many pictures so you can get the best idea of its beauty and condition and supersize all pictures for some great closeup shots. Here is a very handsome and seven foot tall Empire Revival period solid mahogany bookcase with some gorges figured and feathered veneer. The arched original glass doors add an elegant touch. Open the doors and find a grain painted interior with three adjustable shaped shelves. The base contains two deep hand dovetailed drawers with original wooden pulls. The"case" or the top section is also dovetailed construction. This bookcase has the nice rounded edges and the simple crown with the lovely figured veneer. Antique Step Back Bookcase Cupboard 2 Drawers Dbl Casters 19th Century Two Doors
Hi. This wonderful bookcase needs just a little TLC to be an exceptional piece. The dark wood is gorgeous. My best guess is that is is probably a Civil War era piece or possibly earlier. The left door has a vertical latch on the bottom and the right door has a lock mechanism. I replaced the bottom left pane of glass with the existing nails and woodwork intact. Two supports for the fully adjustable shelves have been fashioned out of plywood and do not match the existing supports. One drawer handle is a little loose. The dovetails are hand cut. Not made by machine. The panels in the back could use some work. I did not snug the crown all the way down so the dowels will come out easily when sold, so I can't comment on how tight it is in the rear. The top panes of glass are the original wavy glass. This is a used Barrister style bookcase in excellent condition. It is oak finish with glass pull down doors. The top door is leaded/ beveled glass. I used it to store movies instead of books. There are four shelves about 12" deep. I had VHS tapes and DVD's stacked two rows deep. From memory it is about 5' tall and over 3' wide. I can measure next time I am at the storage unit. The first two pictures are in my previous house and the third is in the climate controlled storage unit. The color in the last picture is a little off due to fluorescent lighting in the storage unit. Holy hotness! For sale is one of two fully-restored General Fireproofing 3-tier metal lawyers bookcases. Professionally painted in an RAL 3001 Signal Red catalyzed lacquer. Each bookcase has three identical sections with glass doors that flip up and slide back. The glass has been thoroughly cleaned and the original aluminum pulls have been polished. Each one also has a metal plug on the bottom section where a lock or something used to be. Each section is attached to the other with four small metal screws. While they have been professionally restored. One does have a couple of minor imperfections, namely two very shallow impressions on the very top; one of about and inch and a half wide near one end and another tiny 1/4" ding. This wall unit doesn’t fit into our new apartment so regrettably. We have to sell. The wall units are a set, but of course they are separate pieces. Each unit is 80 inches high. This is pressed wood with brass accents. The total of all five pieces in a row, as in the pictures, is 138 inches long and 19 inches deep. The three central units are 34 inches wide and each corner unit is 18 inches wide with a beautiful curved side. If you notice in pictures there is damage in two places: a piece of glass is broken from the corner of one of the glass doors and there is residue of a book support on one of the shelves. The wall units are very heavy. But they are on the ground floor and can be easily transported. I paid almost $2500 for the set, but we need to leave and are letting it go for $450. An antique Walnut Cabinet with Glass Doors on the front. With both shelf and drawer space, circa 1850. We are pleased to present this antique Walnut Cabinet for your consideration. It features four adjustable shelves in the interior(plus one at the bottom that is not adjustable) In addition. There are two drawers at the bottom. The shelves are protected behind two glass doors, which makes this piece ideal for use as a display cabinet or book shelf needing dust protection for the contents. Ornate wood trim is found over the upper portions of both doors. The shelf adjustment system is shown as an inset to our picture#5. A small board fits into slots found at the front and back. The board then provides support for the shelf above. The two large doors have a locking mechanism. But the key appears built in. It does not look like it is original ... moreto the piece. The trim plate on the lock is free to spin around, but in good physical shape(it needs to be secured with a couple of small nails) The two lower pieces of glass show substantial"ripple" Typical of antique glass production. It is much less obvious on the upper two pieces, and we guess that they were replaced more recently. The trim over the upper glass has some splits and shade differences, suggesting repairs or replacements have been made. The drawers at the bottom appear to have their original hardware. Each has a large lock mechanism in the center. But we do not have the matching key. Handles are quite heavy and substantial, with large ornate plates behind the handles. The fronts of the drawers are covered with a beautiful Birds Eye Maple veneer, which shows some small chips around the edges. Dovetail joints are found at the front, with more of a box style joint found at the back(see pictures#8 and#9 for close up detail) The Cabinet measures 78 inches high(68 inches exclusive of the trim piece at the back edge of the top. Here is a gorgeous solid walnut Empire Revival bookcase from about 1880. Only two shelves are shown in the photos. However, there are four removable/adjustable shelves. The lock sets are original in the door and drawers and there are two keys which fit both. Easy to transport and to break down and set up. This bookcase has the base, the crown and then, basically, a stack of wood to include the two glass doors. Oak Barrister Bookcase Book Case Glass Panels Doors Shelves
A beautiful three-shelf solid oak(and oak veneers) barrister's bookcase purchased new in 1997 from a reputable South Bend. Indiana furniture retailer. This piece is in gently used condition. As you can see from a couple of the photos, there is a rectangle of dark space on the top of the piece caused by a lamp resting on the top and sun fading the surrounding area. One of the photos shows a wood stain behind a knob on the center shelf door. This occurred in the manufacturing and is under the polyurethane. There is some minor scuffing along the baseboard of the piece. Glass is very clean and free from scratches. When closed, the doors do a very good job of protecting contents from dust. Pair of Egyptian Revival Period Solid Walnut Bookcase Doors
Up for auction is a a very nice pair of Egyptian Revival period solid Walnut Bookcase doors. Door are in good shape with some loss of the period formed carvings(not wooden) and some natural splits in the thin Walnut panels that make-up the Gothic arches. Other than this these doors are the cat's pajamas with there rich espresso patina and all their special details. Formed carvings can be remade using resin and the existing formed carvings. I like them the way they are since they show that nice wear that only comes from age. Each door is 43.75 x 21" x 14/16" thick. This does not include the hing section which includes the carvings. These are each 46.75" long x 2.75" wide x2.25" deep. This is an impressive and rare pair of doors worthy of your finest bid. The first is a view from the 1930's the next three photos are representative of the cabinetry included in this auction. This lovely desk with bookcase above and drawers below was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is mahogany with beautiful burl inlay, carved trim, ball and claw feet, really nice tear drop metal pulls and glass doors with wood frets protecting the bookcase. This delightful piece stands 77 inches tall and measures 39 inches wide by 18 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely in two pieces, the top 36 inches wide by 9 inches deep front to back and 36 inches tall. The bureau base with desk stands 41 inches tall and is 39 inches wide by 18 inches front to back.
