This Was the top section of a GLOBE stackable Bookcase. It has drawers as seen in photos. This was found all by itself sitting in an old barn here in California. It is not in the best of shape as you can see by my detail photos. It will need to be restored if you are planning on using it once again as it was intended. The one side of the cabinet was sitting close to an ope door. So it shows weathering to the wood and metal strap. This is a stunning probably earlier 19th century Chippendale style solid mahogany cabinet. It consists of two pieces. The top has two large doors with 20 individual panes of glass which are individually glazed and create with the unusual framing a very interesting pattern. Some of the of the panes have been replaced. However, there are more old glass panels than new. A few parts of the framing around glass have also been replaced/repaired. The doors will lock with the original lockset and key. The base has two hand dovetailed and very roomy drawers.and the secondary wood is pine. There is a cool carved and shaped skirt in front and on the sides and the legs are cabriole which end in carved ball and claw feet.which are fabulous and detailed. The drawer hardware is new.
