This wonderful item features all individual panes of bubble glass. Carved broken arch pediment, 4 doors on the top, 2 doors on the bottom, 5 dovetailed drawers, drop front leather top writing surface, brass hardware, beautiful wood grain, and ample shelving. Each of the drawers has a working lock and the key is included. There are 3 glass shelves on the upper center and 6 wood shelves in the upper left and right unit. Each of lower doors conceals one wood shelf. The upper unit is lighted but the current cord should be replaced. This item is in wonderful antique condition with only minor signs of age appropriate wear as pictured. The original antique bubble glass is free from breaks or damage which is very hard to come by. The backing to the upper unit looks to be lined in a off white colored wall paper and there is a red drip stain to this surface as seen in image#18 on the lower left side. Wear to the finish on one of the shelves can also be seen in image#18. Breakfront measures 92"h x 72"w x 16"d in total. The upper unit measures 56"h x 70"w x 12"d. The lower unit measures 36"h x 72"w x 12"d. I have added many pictures so you can get the best idea of its beauty and condition and supersize all pictures for some great closeup shots. If you are a lover of the beautiful elegance of the Victorian period and are in search for a stunning display piece you will positively love this etagere. This measures a total height of 80 in( 6 ft 8 in) A total width of 34 inches and a total depth at the deepest portion of 14 3/4 inches, and the approximate weight of this piece is 55 lbs. The top of this etagere offers a incised carved pediment that rests between an arch. With raised carved panels of walnut accenting each side. Below is the vintage replacement mirror that is in excellent condition and measures 29 in high by 16 inches wide. Finely turned walnut spindle posts with turned finials, flank the mirror and offer support for the display shelves on each side. Below the mirror is an additional carved display shelf that is supported by a pierced carving. The largest shelf rests below the mirror and boasts of feather walnut and offers a unique small storage drawer below with early hand-cut dovetailed joints, and an open carved small gallery at the back. Elegant out-swept carved legs support the larger shelf and the display shelf at the base with the front legs having pierced carvings at about midway. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. You are buying the 4 legged base ONLY for the sectional bookcase you see in the pictures. I repeat-just the base. The top cap and 4 sections are listed in other sales. The base is 10" tall and 33" wide by 13" deep. It fits under a bookcase that has an indented top of 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. It does have some rust but is solid and needs cleaned and paint. The rest of the description describes the rest of the bookcase which you might need to see if this fits yours.These never had doors and are slightly taller than the ones that you find with doors. Size is just over 33" wide by 13" deep by 17 1/8" tall to the very top. The section that shows when stacked is 16 7/8" tall. The very top of the cabinet is a little smaller so that the base of the next section can lock into it. The smaller section ... moreat the very top is 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. I have 4 of these cabinets that make up the larger stack. You are buying one with the chance to buy additional if you are the first buyer. If you buy more than one you need to buy one-pay for it-then buy the next-pay-and so on. I cannot combine shipping and ebay will combine it by weight and their combined invoice will be wrong. As you see the total structure it stands 80" counting the top cap and bottom base. There is lots of wear and scratching/loss to the paint and they could use cleaned up better.Some have writing and old tape on them. One of the sections has 2 holes drilled in the right side that you can see in a picture. The one picture shows the top inside of the cabinet. The only piece that is signed is the top cap. There is rust on the base but not much rust on anything else. The cabinets weigh 32 lbs each before packing and will incur even more dimensional weight by the shippers due to their size. Also check out the"bead board' back, which are solid oak planks. This is a very well made piece and is very stable and heiver than you would think. The shelves are all fixed in place and do not adjust. It's a wonderful size that would add intrest and charm in any room you put it in. The finish is good but not great or exceptional by any means. Sectional case has the base,top, and three tiers. All shelves have original glass, hardware and pulls. Case is overall 40.25" tall/ 12.25" deep/ 26" wide. Two sections are 11.25" one is 13.25" tall. The wood top is in fair shape with some staining and scratching. The 2 smaller tiers are in good shape but the dark varnish is smooth in places and raised in places I think from just aging. The larger section is in identical condition. The base is missing the feet. Here’s a 5 stack Globe- Wernicke barrister bookcase in beautifully figured quarter sawn oak. It’s complete with top and base. These are older turn of the century bookcases. The unit measures 69 7/8” high. 34” wide, and 11” deep. The labels read, from top to bottom: D 10 ¼-299, 108-299, 110-299, D10 ¼-299, D10 ¼-299. All units measure 11 ½” inside, top to bottom except 108-299 which measures 9 5/8” These are from my Mother’s estate and are in very good condition-probably close to 100 years old so obviously there may be a minor scuff or nick—but not many. All have the original wavy glass and brass knobs. Metal sidebands are naturally worn. The wood has beautiful patina and lovely grain pattern. Early Tiger Oak Globe Wernicke Lawyers Bookcase Drawer Base
This is a nice condition base stand for a Globe Wernicke Lawyer's Bookcase. Looks like Tiger Oak but I'm not a professional. The drawer needs a little TLC. While it does function it needs a mild remedy to make it easier to open and close. I have several broken water damaged pieces of a bookcase but this was protected from harm and is still in good shape. For a restoration piece its great! Finish is dulled but its a solid base. Wish I could restore it myself. I love these"modular" bookcases quite modern for their day! I would like someone to have it who is interested in restoration of these. A most unusual antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak three door china cabinet(may be used as a bookcase) with a base compartment across for linens. One piece construction. The three doors open to a compartment that has five adjustable shelves across. There is a key for the doors with brass escutcheons(the left door is missing the lock. The cornice, upper door frames, and the base front, are deeply carved. It measures 6'8" 80" tall by 5'5" 65" wide by 22" deep, the plate grooved shelves 5-1/2" deep. Very good plus condition: original finish, oak boards without damage(horizontal crack to the very top board. All three original wavy glass panels are fine.

Very nice looking all original early 1900's Macey 3 stack barristers bookcase. This one is in very good condition with all original wavy glass and great looking tiger oak. Dimensions are 57H X 34W X 14 D. A few minor imperfections such as the hole thru the back of one of the units.It won't be noticeable when you put books in in though and a small chip of wood missing out of the corner of the bottom unit. This base section is marked Globe-Wernicke. I do not see any maker's name on the bookcase section but am sure it is Macey- both fit together well. I believe I refinished both of these about 35 years ago when I did a lot of restoration work with barrister's book case sections- they are ready to use. They are the standard length of about 34 inches. But I believe the 8 inch inside depth is narrower than most Globe-Wernicke sections I used to have. To be more specific.
