I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) POLISHED, base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of very highly polished brass. I have had many calls for these base knobs in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers as the only source was robbing original bases for these knobs. DO NOT BE FOOLED! YOU CAN NOT GO OUT TO JUST ANY OF THE HARDWARE SUPPLY SOURCES AVAILABLE TODAY AND JUST GET THESE KNOBS! I looked through THOUSANDS of suppliers inventories to finally find these. $375.00 Shipping Condition: Used Location: Scranton, United States This 2 section barrister bookcase has been refinished on the outside maybe 20 years ago and painted on the inside and on the back in a blue/grey sort ... moreof color. Probably done at the same time as the finish. The spots that might have revealed the maker name have paint on them so I am selling it as maker unknown. In addition to the 2 sections, it comes with the original top or crown, and a base with drawer. It also features metal side straps between each section and the scissor mechanism for the doors. No problems with the 2 glass doors. In fact, I see no problems at all. With the square straight legs it is very mission looking and being from about 100 years ago, I think we can safely call it authentic mission furniture in every way except the finish, although a lot of mission furniture WAS this color when it was new. The joints are all tight and all sections lock together easily and correctly. While only a 2 stack, it is a big 2 stack with each section able to take books as much as 13 1/2 inches tall. The over all measurement are 34 inches wide as most of these are, and with base and crown a total of 45 inches tall. It is a full 14 inches deep from knobs to back. I am listing this as local pick up only. BUT there are shipping/delivery options for you to chose from. RI delivery is $50 MA or CT. $100 If you are beyond those states. I would still deliver to most of the rest of New England, all of NJ, parts of PA that are East of Harrisburg and parts of NY that are East of Binghamton for $200. It is made of quartered oak with an antique oak finish and brass hardware. ... moreThe gold"Globe" stenciling still remains on the top of the unit. The dimentions are 18' deep. 17.5 wide and 31.5' tall. It is fully functional and the file cabinet unit and the card catalog drawers work as intended with the original hardware remaining. Condition: Good original condition with the usual age related scratches and blemishes to the finish. There is dark staining and a little rippling to the veneer on the top. Most of the finish is definately originial. But I'm really not sure if the sides of the file cabinet unit have been refinished at some point. They have the same type of wear as the rest of the unit, but are noticibly lighter than the patina on the rest of the pieces. The brass side bands have oxidation on parts of them. Shipping: Good news.I have all the packing materials and therefore will not charge a wrapping fee. Bad news.this is a heavy piece. About 60 lbs all packaged up so will be expensive to ship. Real nice Globe Wernicke Barrister Top and barrister base. Contour top with original bands. Original finish. 34 inches wide. About 10 1/2 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches tall for the top. Same for the base but the base is taller. 5-6 inches I guess. This is a rarer size and fits sections that are 9 1/2 deep. Outstanding oak grain. Has a small nick that I photoed. Not major. The top is lovely. The piece of wood that goes across the base has a section that splintered off but is still in good shape. Works fine and is very stable I have a photo of it on a matching base. It measures 34 inches long 10-1/2 inches deep. And is 3-1/4 inches high. The inner or fitting dimensions are 33-1/2 x 9-7/8. Antique Globe Wernicke 5 Stack Lawyers Barrister Bookcase with Base& Top! Great condition. Antique. Made by Globe Wernicke, Patent 110 Grade 198. 5-Stack. With step back bottom section. Oak. With the top and base, this stands approximately 77"tall. The bottom section measures about 16" tall, and is about 14" front to back. The other sections are 13" tall, 11" front to back. Has brass knobs, and bands on the sides. Has glass in doors. Doors have scissor mechanism. This will be pick-up only. Located in Greenwood IN. Which is 20 minutes south of Indianapolis. Fred Macey "D" Quartered Golden Oak Stacking Barrister Bookcase Beaded Top
This is a ca. 1900 ogee quartered oak Fred Macey"D" Stacking Bookcase Top. It has the beaded trim! These are very hard to find and made only by the Fred Macey Co. from 1900 to about 1905. It has a golden oak finish. Measuring 12" Deep, 34" Wide, and 3" tall. The Macey stamp under the section reads"Macey Sectional Bookcase 4B" Its in overall very good condition with original finish. Condition: The finish appears a little"dry" on the sides(lost it's luster) And has a couple of the usual blemishes on the top. Note: in my last photo there is a small sliver of the inside board that is chipped. Right where one of the nails that secures the band is. I have the nail further secured by a tack so it does not fall out when the top is lifted off. The band itself is still very secure and not loose, still ... moreheld on tightly by the other three nails. All the hardware is original including the metal strip on the back that keeps the back plywood from loosing and rests snuggly on the bookcase section below. Shipping: Pick up or easily shipped for a flat shipping cost of $25 to the Lower 48. I do not ship these outside of the Lower 48 states and no international shipping. This top matches to the other three sections I have listed.

Rare GLOBE WERNICKE Sectional File Bookcase TOP 17 3/8" X 41 1/2" Barrister
Offered here is a Globe Wernicke Sectional File top. The metal band measures 17 3/8"long. Overall the top measures 18" x 41 1/2" The top has been stained and then refinished with 7 coats of Orange and Blonde shellac, 2 coats applied with brush and 5 additional applied with pad in a french polishing technique. It has some minor flaws but overall is in excellent condition and is ready to use. Please ask any questions before bidding.

Very Difficult for me to photograph.So please take a good look at what I've been able to provide.Basically a VERY STURDY and Completely Structurally Sound Piece.But it being the top people put things on it and it shows the results with some light scratching and wear and most notably what I believe people refer to as water marks,maybe there was a plant set on top and a little liquid spilled over.on the right a spot about 3" by 3 1/2" and just in back of it a spot which varies 1 1/2" to 2" wide by about 17"The spots are not good but they are not terrible either and may very well polish out,this is not in my realm of knowledge and felt it better left untouched by me.ALSO depending on how high you're building your bookcase it may not really matter anyway if it is a Tall Bookcase and out of sight.FRONT and SIDES ... moreare in Nice Decent Presentable Shape.
