Push button handle and wavy glass. Two adjustable shelves w/ the 8 original metal shelf support pins. Very good condition. Oak is undamaged and in clean condition. Sturdy w/out any looseness. Very minor wear to the dark fumed finish. Of course there are some minor issues.there is a seam separation on the top. And a slight offset seam at the top of the right slab side panel. Looking at it from the back, the plywood panel is rough along the right edge w/ some chipping and missing veneer(touched up) Some glue blocks under the base were missing and have been replaced. Fumed oak small single-door Charles Limbert bookcase.signed w/ early paper label. Size: 16-1/2" wide. 11-1/4" deep, 46" tall. Early paper label dates to it being manufactured before 1907 in Grand Rapids. Michigan before they opened their factory in nearby Holland. Original dark fumed oak finish. Push button handle and wavy glass. Two adjustable shelves w/ the 8 original metal shelf support pins. Very good condition. Oak is undamaged and in clean condition. Sturdy w/out any looseness. Very minor wear to the dark fumed finish. Of course there are some minor issues.there is a seam separation on the top. And a slight offset seam at the top of the right slab side panel. We would date this Cotswold School walnut bookcase to the 1940s/50s period. This is very much in the Gordon Russell manner. And is a very finely constructed piece, made entirely from solid walnut timbers. The dovetailed joints are very exquisite and this is a very satisfactory piece of small furniture in every way. This piece is in excellent original condition, and would make an outstanding addition to a collection and perhaps look quite splendid placed on a Cotswold style sideboard or table. Up for auction is a very unusual and stylish antique 1900's Arts& Crafts/Mission style library bookcase made of solid oak. This bookcase has a number of beautiful features including heavy brass original hardware. A gorgeous brass gallery at the top, carved Craftsman details in the wood and an unusual shelf setup where a floating shelf sits above the locked book shelves below. This is a solid oak case with nice double glass locking doors. There are two unusual pull drawers with HEAVY brass Craftsman style drawer pulls. Antique Arts Crafts Nouveau Free Standing Table Top Oak Bookcase Stand Folds EXC Description: Antique Arts Crafts Nouveau Free Standing Table Top Oak Bookcase Stand Folds EXC This auction is for a gorgeous solid oak Arts and Crafts or Art Nouveau era tabletop bookcase or bookend. The folding bookcase is a medium-to-dark stained oak stand. At each end is an inset carved circle with a stylized design inside. The design has been stained a deep russet with a mustard and off-orange stylized design. This appears to have been hand created. As one end appears a little'brighter' in color than the other. These ends are attached to a long, rectangular frame, with carved'finials' on each corner. The two ends fold down flat, created by a screw mechanism found next to the outside finial. The tabletop bookcase is in excellent condition ... morefor its age, with a single chip of the wood by one of the inset designs. There is a smattering of light scratches on the bottom, which I believe would polish right out. I didn't notice until taking pictures that there is the number'1543' hand-written on the bottom. This is a beautiful, possibly hand created book stand, and reflects design elements from both the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau eras. The stand measures approximately 15-1/2 inches long, 5-1/2 inches wide and with the ends raised 5-1/4 inches tall. I would hate for you to be disappointed with any aspect of your purchase. Up for consideration is a fine Oak Arts Crafts 4 stack barristers or stacking bookcase. The bookcase stands 50 1/2 inches tall by 34 inches wide. Each Stack is labelled with a paper label to the interior. Each Section is stacked on the other and they are different dimensions. The bottom section being 15 inches tall the two center sections being 13 inches tall and the top one being 11 inches. The depth is 11 inches deep and the overall depth at the feet is 12 1/2 inches. The bookcase has a patent date on the door sliding mechanism of 1908. The finish is excellent. It is original dark brown varnish with extra clean interior coloration. Please note that the pictures dont capture the great coloration often associated with high quality Arts& Crafts oak furniture.
