Early paper label dates to it being manufactured before 1907 in Grand Rapids. Michigan before they opened their factory in nearby Holland. Original dark fumed oak finish. Push button handle and wavy glass. Two adjustable shelves w/ the 8 original metal shelf support pins. Very good condition. Oak is undamaged and in clean condition. Sturdy w/out any looseness. Very minor wear to the dark fumed finish. Of course there are some minor issues.there is a seam separation on the top. And a slight offset seam at the top of the right slab side panel. This is a barrister bookcase base that is being sold as is or for parts. It measures aprox. 34" wide x 12 1/2" deep x 7" high. The bottom trim piece is missing. The drawer is incomplete. Missing one side, the back and bottom, one of the drawer pulls is bent. The two side pieces have some rot on the bottom which could be trimmed down. It is solid oak finished to a warm dark brown. It is intricately carved and all the woodcarving was done by hand. Amazing and RARE find.Early 20th Century. And I mean 1900-1920 most likely; Solid Oak Paw Foot Bookcase. 3 large glass doors with push button latches. Tons and Tons of storage in this one. The interior wood is a little lighter than the dark oak on the outside, this was intentional by the builder. I believe this to be the original finish, and I do not find it to look as though any portion is anything other than original. There are a couple of cracks in the veneer on the top of the piece, you can see in pic#10. Huge paw feet, four sets, a couple do have missing toes. It has very little wear and all doors function perfectly. The wood is a really nice selection of oak with a medium color to it. All of the doors except the middle two are made ... morewith fielded panels. The sides are as well. Fielded panels have a much more elegant look thank regular paneling. The middle two doors are made of individual glass panels allowing you some display space. Inside the wooden shelves are fixed(not adjustable) and have a shelf depth of 12″ in the middle and 10″ on the sides. The doors do lock with included keys. Just below the glass doors is a pull out slide. There are quite a few small details that all come together to make this antique bookcase a really fine piece. The shelves have plate grooves in them for displaying plates upright. The top is adorned with a moulded cornice and the base is a solid plinth base. The breakfront shape of the middle is also quite attractive. The bookcase does come in two parts(top and bottom) for transporting. Triple Carved Oak 1895 Antique Bookcase. Leaded Glass Doors. Carved of solid oak about 1895. This triple boockase has original leaded glass doors. Fine quarter sawn oak has an excellent deep finish. There are tiny cracks at some tips of the original wavy leaded glass doors as shown. Some panes rattle when the doors are opened. But we have not attempted restoration to the leading. Three separate banks of shelves adjust on iron pegs. Brass handles are original on this American made antique furniture. Detailed moldings. The cabinet's dimensions are approximately; H- 53" W- 54& D- 12.5" The Case: The beautiful quarter sewn oak case is in fine physical condition. Please note the water stain and split on the top of the case. There are a few other nick and scratches but nothing that I would consider distracting. The case would look great with a little lemon oil and/or having it refinished. I believe it was refinished at one time. But too difficult for me to tell for sure. I'd bid on it as being a refinished cabinet. The three doors open and close properly. Each door has a lock. I have the key for the locks. There are(9) nine shelves that are interchangeable. It has a glass bow front door with four adjustable shelves. A beveled teardrop mirror, a bow front top drawer and claw feet. It retains its original finish and includes two keys, one for the bookcase and one for the desk and drawers. Unknown as to the manufacturer. It carries two shipping labels on back.
