Aside from two old replaced turned pegs. A small drill hole at center, and a small hole where one of the ornamental iron rivet heads was, the rack is in very good condition as pictured. An absolutely gorgeous mahogany wood china cabinet! This wood is absolutely beautiful and will make a great accent in your dining room. Living room or living area. Solid, well built and sturdy this cabinet is sound. Two flaws that I've documented with photos are a scratch on the left bottom door and a very small part of the applique at the crown has worn off. Shelves are sturdy and cut for standing plates on end, the glass is 100% intact, all doors open and close easily, the wood trim on the inside of the glass is very well done and ornate. A large, well-illustrated classic on Italian furniture of the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Classical Revival and Empire periods. Odom published his work when interest in and appreciation for the arts and crafts of the Italian Renaissance was peaking in America and England, and it followed several other noted English language studies of Italian woodwork, interiors, architecture and carving. In many Renaissance-era craft centers, but especially in Italy, the same workers who created the beautifully-carved church and house interior woodwork and sculptures also made the furniture, ... moreso the subjects were inextricably linked. Odom, however, was the first English-language writer to focus on furniture, and he drew his examples mainly from American, Italian, and some English, collections, both public and private. Many examples were drawn from the stock of high-end New York dealers such as Bardini and Volpi, and others came from the N metropolitan Museum of Art and the Victoria& Albert. The rest were in private hands; some of those examples have since migrated to museums, others have changed location or disappeared from public view entirely. Machine age steel cafe kitchen set industrial furniture antique steam punk
You are about to bid on a 3 piece set. One oval table and 2 chairs. They did not start out as a set. But they sure look great as one. The chairs are old and in original condition with extensive paint loss. The table is an old base, added to a top made of old industrial steel, but the bent tubing that makes the smooth edge around the table top is relatively new. The table top measures 48 by 20 inches. It stands 30 inches tall like any other dining or kitchen table. The chairs take up a floor space that is about 20 by 20 inches and the backs are about 36 inches tall. If the feet of the chairs look funny to you, it is the rubber caps that were added to keep them from scratching the hardwood floors. They come right off if you don't want them. This is just a real hip look for a breakfast nook or great set for a small kitchen. A table this ... moresize could just as easily be moved to the dining room to serve as a small serving table, or put it behind a couch as a sofa table. If you want your furniture to look new and shiny, this is not for you, but if you like that steam punk/industrial/machine age look, you won't find another set like this at any price. There are 4 dressers. One nightstand, and the student desk you see here. I am NOT positive the desk is Heywood Wakefield, but I have been told that it IS. Color is Wheat on these pieces. The original glass piece top comes with the nightstand. All the dressers are in very good condition. The desk is in good shape, not as great as the dressers, but still very good. Approx. dimensions measured Upper& Lower: 40"wide x 25.5" Tall x 17.5"deep( lower) 38" wide x 43" Tall x 14.5" deep(upper) Total Height is Approx. 68.5" Tall A GORGEOUS cabinet in very good condition despite the age. Reiss Coal Company in 1916 and continued to produce furniture under the name of Northern until 1949 when the business changed its name to R-Way Furniture. It had Ceased trading in 1992. Bookcases. Antique wooden miniature chest/ writing desk. Made well over 100 years ago. But exact date not known. 11.5 inches long; 8 inches tall; 5.5 inches front to back. May have been a salesman's sample and may have been a child's toy. Would make a wonderful jewellery box today. Beautifully constructed a long time ago. Long. Deep drawfront divided into two compartments, at the bottom, right accross the front. Above it is a much narrower/shallower drawer with no division. A desk/ writing surface above that and recessed behind is a set of 6 smaller draws, all but one divided into two sections. The draw pulls are made of natural material, we are not sure exactly what, and some have a little bite missing here and there(as shown in'photos) The draws are beautifully constructed with fine dovetails. Due to age. The wood has separated and someone, ... moreapparrently a long time ago, has filled in some of the gaps- see'photos. There is one little chunk of missing wood- seems to have fallen away due to age, not damage. The rest is in good shape, with plenty of signs of age and use- certainly not pristine. Rare antique postcard showing an early Stickley Brothers Arts& Crafts interior rendering in color. It is full of Stickley Brothers furniture. This interior view was originally drawn by native Scotsman David Robertson Smith. One of their early and extremely gifted designers. He first worked for Albert Stickley in London circa 1901, then was convinced to come to America. He won major awards for Stickley Brothers at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis. It is a postcard that was likely provided by Stickley Brothers or the Grand Rapids Furniture Record to retailers. It has a calendar on the backside that is for November 1911 and the postcard is postmarked 1911. This same image is shown on page 110 in the book: The Stickley Brothers" a reference book by noted Arts& Crafts era historians.Michael E. Lot of 11 antique/vintage white porcelain and cast iron casters/furniture wheels. All wheels move freely. The four in top row match and measure 5" tall. Including wheel which is 1 7/8" the four in bottom row match and measure 4 1/2" including 1 3/4" wheel; first one in"middle" row is a single and measures 3 7/8" including 1 1/2" wheel; two smallest match and measure 2 3/4" including 1 1/8" wheel.
