I could not find any markings on the napkin ring to identify it. What I did find is a remarkable detailed napkin ring. This napkin ring has a cottage in in the country sitting atop a rolling hill. Surrounded by trees, flowers, and birds. The detail on the cottage, from the chimney, the shingles on the roof, the wood walls, and the door and windows, is astounding. The opposite side of the ring is a woman under a tree, with her back to an ... moreover-sized, leather bound book. On the other side of the book it has a wolf standing on grass and against the book, while peering around the book. This ring is lightly tarnished and needs to be cleaned and polished. The gross weight is 1.8 ounces. It is 1.75" in diameter, at the openings and 1.625" wide. Up for auction is an early antique edition of Charles Dickens work. THE OLD CURIOSITY SHOP; and REPRINTED PIECES. Published in Boston by Lee and Shepard in 1877. Illustrated Household Edition. Contains 16 illustrations. Full-page, depicting scenes from the book. Bound in a dark green cloth with Victorian decoration on front cover and spine; gilt-stamped title field with DICKENS WORKS. One signature is loose at the bottom, but book quite clean and hinges solid. In GOOD condition overall. What might me more intriguing about this book is the bookplate on the inside front cover. It is a relatively clean bookplate from the Protection Library of Dover. New Jersey. Bears an image of firemans equipment, including a fire hat, ladder, pick-axe, what looks like a trumpet, and other vintage firefighting equipment. This is the only library evidence ... moreanywhere in the book, but this must have been part of a fire-house library in Dover in the latter quarter of the 19th century. Bookplate toned in spots, but in nice shape. I couldnt find any information out about this bookplate anywhere online. Extremely rare. Printed in 1803 an incredible 210 years old! Imagine the amount of people who have handled this. This book once belonged to"Félicité Dupau Le 16 Fevrier 1818 a Toulouse" as it states on the front cover of this book, I believe she was 10 years old at the time. She has certainly made her mark by repeatedly writing her name in sepia ink to the front and back of the book. The book is entitled"Les ornements de la mémoire, ou les traits brillants des poètes français les plus célèbres"Ornaments of memory from Frances' most celebrated poets" Printed in Toulouse. In expected antique condition, sepia ... moreink marks to the front and back, yellowing and foxing to every single page of the parchment type paper throughout. Also enclosed with this book is a small sepia Cabinet photograph image of a young girl which was found inside it. This photograph appears to have been taken in Paris but there is no name on it- is this Félicité? Amongst the treasures are several antique Victorian bedspreads, whitework tablecloths, Victorian children’s clothes, silk shawls, 19 th century wedding tiaras and veils. Valentines cards and much more. I am listing some of these this week, and will work through the boxes, laundering, inspecting, photographing and listing! This listing is ... morefor the first of the two volumes I am listing of The Young Englishwoman- this one published in 1867, with 12 hand coloured fashion plates, and copious black and white illustrations of fashion, lace, passementerie etc. that were the height of fashion in 1867. The detailed descriptions of the cut of the dresses, the fabrics and the instructions for lace and craft projects is extremely interesting. This book is in good condition, with some bumping to the edges of the boards and spine, and a small split to the inside paper where it is attached to the front board. The spine and corners are covered with tooled red leather, and the front and back are of marbled paper. The book measures 16cm x 23cm, and there are 664 pages in all. The hand coloured fashion prints sell for a huge amount of money, but I implore you not to remove them from this wonderful book! More photographs below. Antique Crystal Pouter Pigeon Bookends Indiana Paden City Glass Co 1940 Book Ends This is a Beautiful Set of Bookends in excellent condition. No Chips or Cracks. Measurements are approx. 6 inches high and 5 inches wide. Figurine stands on base which is solid glass. Ground and polished. These would be great for any bird collector of special items. Beautiful and hard to find, rare item. At one time. Pouter pigeons were prized and raised by people for their unusual, decorative appearance, caused by their large, inflatable crop, which gave the bird an extremely puffed-out chest. In fact, the crop is really a hyper-inflatable sac where food is stored at the beginning of the bird’s digestive process. According to Wikipedia, pouter pigeons have been bred in Europe for over 400 years. Please ask any questions before bidding!

ANTIQUE OAK COUNTRY STORE DISPLAY CABINET SHOW CASE BARRISTER BOOK 5pc. STACKING
Just acquired out of a Private. Midwest estate, we are able to offer this exceptionally nice, ~ circa 1910 era OAK STORE DISPLAY CABINET ~. This unusual display cabinet stacks like a barrister bookcase, and has 5 sections. There are three larger middle sections and it has a base and crown. It is a very well made cabinet, with drawers that are dovetailed, front and back. The estate where this was acquired from, was fairly certain that it is from the old Historic Lion's department store that was in downtown Toledo, in the early 1900's. This cabinet was used to display clothing, and it even has one of the old ~ GARTERS~ tag, still in the door front. It is a nice large size measuring 7 feet 9 inches tall by just over 4 feet wide and is 27 inches deep. There are 18"glass front" drawers that measure about 15 inches wide by 4 inches ... moretall by 25 inches deep. Each drawer has a brass tag on the top front, to place a label showing what is in the drawer. There are also several slots for dividers, in every drawer to help you keep your items separated- see picture# 12. The top two" Glass Front" sections open like the barrister bookcases you see. They measure 14 inches tall by 25 inches deep by 47 inches wide. The bottom" Two Sliding Doors" is for storage to hold your extra inventory, and it measures 18 inches tall by 47 inches wide. The nice thing is, that it is just under 8 feet tall, so it would fit in most homes or businesses. The front is mostly all quarter sawn" solid" oak and the sides are oak as well as a secondary wood. This cabinet would have been displayed, side by side, with other cabinets. It is certainly the only one like it that we have ever seen, and is really a wonderful antique display cabinet. The over all condition is pretty good with some expected wear from age and use. It displays wonderfully and has a fabulous look! All of the glass is in good condition with no cracks. DESCRIPTION: Please see our terms and"about Me" page prior to bidding or buying. This antique set is"The Adventures of Roderick Random in Two Volumes" by Tobais Smollet. This was published by L and F Lockwood of 110 Chatham Street in 1819. This is a complete two volume matched set. This story is of a young man and his misfortunes from inherited skullduggery in childhood to his schooling and then adventures upon the high seas and the restoration of his good fortune at the end. These measure app. 5.5"x3.5" Both have leather covers and spine along with marbled inside pages and gilt edges. All the covers are detached on both books and the leather spines are chipped off as shown the two pieces that are left of the spines. It is in good condition for its age there is some wear to the spine. The upper right corner is missing a small piece and has a fold. The rest of the corners have folds, There are some tears to the paper on the spine. It was published in 1888 by Merchant's Gargling Oil and Worm Tablets. It is filled with all sorts of information on how to treat humans and livestock with these products and also has information on Palmistry, Dreams. and Fate. It includes hints from cleaning, medical care, meat carving to food preservation etc. Includes such advise as: to clean a rusty knife. Use half a raw potato dipped in brick dust. And foreign objects can be removed from the ear with a hairpin or piece of wire folded back to form a loop. for sure it was published before lawyers were invented) Remove foreign objects from the eye by bathing the eye in milk or one part lime water and 3 parts plain water. The Philadelphia Museum of Art notes- In 1965 when he began his research of the porcelain manufactory established by Bonnin and Morris. Graham Hood was Associate Curator of the Garvan and Related Collections of American Art at Yale University Art Gallery. The subject, which according to Hood spasmodically occupied his leisure time over a five-year period, was the business established in 1770 by Gousse Bonnin and George Anthony Morris in the Southwark section of Philadelphia. Their ambitious project was to manufacture soft-paste porcelain ... moreusing clay from the banks of the Delaware River, near Wilmington, Delaware, and employing skilled English workmen to produce their wares. Operating as the American China Manufactory, the business was short-lived, closing in 1772. Despite its brief operation, the venture staked by Bonnin and Morris was significant. It was the first porcelain manufactory in colonial America, and in fact the only one in the eighteenth century. The task Graham Hood assumed was to determine definitively if the wares attributed to Bonnin and Morris were truly theirs and if so, whether the objects were porcelain or earthenware.
