The book is handsomely detailed and contains many pages of illustrations and theories based on Professor Fowler's practice during the 19th Century. The hardcover is in great condition for it's age. The front endpages are dampstained. There are some personal annotations on a few pages. Presumably Fowler's own handwriting. This may be seen in the photographs. This book appears to have been used to study a person by the name of Matthew P. Deady. Metal/Bronze Bookends Loie Fuller Dancing X-1 1927 Art Nouveau antique book ends
Early art nouveau Loie Fuller risque dancing girl bookends. Made of a heavy metal with a gilded bronze finish and wearing sheer flowing costume with her figure showing through. These are circa 1927 and were made by a company known as X-1. They made elaborate artistic bookends in the 1920's that you can recognize from the backs. Which are as fancy and detailed as the fronts. These backs show a quilted archway with flowers. They are numbered 500 on each one and measure almost 7 1/2 inches and the pair weighs almost 8 pounds. There is no felt on the bottom. Loie Fuller(Marie Louise Fuller) was the first American modern dancer to perform in Europe with great success in Paris. She was a famous beauty who toured the saloons and gold mining hot spots of the old Wild West more than a hundred years ago and is considered by many to be the personification ... moreof the Art Nouveau movement given her yards of swirling cloth dance costumes. These bookends are a beautiful celebration of her. This set is in very good condition. There are no chips. Cracks, or dents in the metal surfaces. A very nice set! This auction is for an antique book entitled My Mother by Ann Taylor. This book is written in verse- you can see an example in photo 4 as to how it is written. The first page along with the title and author also says"London S. W. Partridge. 9, Paternoster Row. It has 12 colored illustrations to go with each page of verse. All of the illustrations are signed RB. The illustrations are in very good condition. The book itself is in decent condition. I think the cover is leather, although I am not sure. The color is quite faded, especially on the front cover. The spine of the book is loose but still attached to the back cover. Antique Vintage Female Anatomy Chart Book Insert c.1900
This is a c.1900 chromolithographed. Fold-out anatomy chart of the kind that used to be glued inside home medical guides. It is a charming(or irritating? late nineteenth century conception of female anatomy since it consists mainly of illustrations of f emale organs stuck onto what is actually a male frame. The cover illustration. Sans head. Is amusing for its tentativeness and the musculature(second photo) is pretty big in the hips, reflecting the fashion of the time. It measures 9-3/4 x 7-1/4 inches overall. There is some foxing(stains) along the upper edges of the backing paper. But it doesn't affect the printed parts(see photos) The intestines are detached from their hinge as shown in the eighth photo(poor girl! but otherwise, the inks are nice and bright and the paper is in good shape. 4 Photos African American Black antique children book 12 pictures RARE
These four vintage photographs in various sizes. Two approximately 9 ½” x 7 ½” one photo 8” x 7 ½” and one more photo 10” x 8’ were inserted into a very old package, which has been preserved poorly, although its contents have been well preserved. It contained an old children’s book without cover or title page from page 4 through 16th. The size of the book is approximately 9 ½” x 12 ½” It is possible that part of some antique book, because such books are not published today. We don’t know the author of the text, nor the Artist, but all the pictures are very bright, painted by a talented Artist and have preserved very well. It is possible to make very gook copies of these 12 original pictures for a small gallery. The photographs give you the feeling of dejection. If this was not the age television, judging from one ... moreof these photos, one would think that slavery was never abolished. The woman in these photos has expression of great suffering and helplessness on her face. We don’t know the author of these photographs, we don’t know the area where the“photo session” took place, but we are sure that life for some areas of America life is still very hard, and far from being happy and productive. It is a well-known fact. That photographic image gives incomparable view of object's condition, then the most detailed written description of the item. The written description may be somewhat subjective, because the seller sometimes may be trying to exaggerate his item. In our photos we are trying to show possible defects in the item. What is great about this book is it was signed"Property of Celia Rojee Fourth Street PO Box 479 Medway Massachusetts" The fourth edition was revised and rewritten under the supervision of the Public Health Nursing and Home Hygine Service American Red Cross. Which was the update from the original written by Jane A. Delano R.N. chairman of the National Commitee Red Cross Nursing Association from 1909-1919. The book has 45 illustrations and was printed in the USA by the Maple Press Company in PA. The book is in increadible condition the paper cover has a small rip on the corner of the binding that is maybe a 1/4 inch. The cover is separting from the pages. The pages are still bound tight.

Super Antique Victorian Book Chain Necklace Almandine Glass Pendant
T his is a Victorian-era book chain necklace with a glass centerpiece. Deep violet red, looking like an almandine garnet, in the centerpiece and two dangles hanging, tassel-like, from that. Not counting the centerpiece nor dangles. The necklace measures a little more than 17” long and is made up of 5mm x 4mm links. It closes in the front with a fully functional tab-and-slot clasp. The centerpiece is a 1/2” x 5/8” oval; the stone(most probably glass) is prong-set. The dangles are 1 3/8” long. There are no marks. This isn't gold but gold-filled. I haven't filed and acid tested. It dates back. Surely, to the mid-19th century. It's in EXCELLENT condition. No damage of any kind. And only slight signs of wear and handling. This auction is for a book titled Fishing In Fresh Water by Richard Salmon. It was printed in 1953. It has 31 pages and measures approximately 7 1/2 inches X 5 inches. It is still very tightly bound. With no rust on the staples. The back cover reads"Published for General Motors Men and Women by the Personnel and Employee Relations Staff General Motors Information Rack Service" The front cover has a few light marks here and there and some corner/edge wear. The back cover shows quite a bit more wear along the edges and 2 corners, and some light wrinkling. The last 2 pages of the book, have light wear on the lower corner. Several of the pages have a crease in them. They are not bent, but creased. They couldn't have been bent the way they are, so it must have been done on the printing presses.
