I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. Each section is marked with the Globe Werneike trade mark. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. The windows have antique wavy glass and there are NO breaks. The bookcase is a step-back bookcase- meaning the bottom section is deeper then the rest and extends forward. This is a nice feature for storing larger books. The only other detail is the rear of the bookcase it is not attractive. No explanation- it's just that way- some sections of the laminate backing have opened. We were going to give the back a coat of varnish but never did. We are no longer cleaning up furniture- we are clearing out our inventory. Rare antique Lundstrom barrister bookcase. This is a five piece stacking set with glass fronts. There is a base three graduating sections and a top with a small gallery edge. The unusual. Hard to find, narrow size of this great bookcase is what makes it so desirable. While most of these bookcases measure on average 34" wide; this one is a sweet size of 25 1/4" wide. It is made of solid oak, not veneers, with glass paned door fronts. Each section is stamped by the maker and the top piece still retains the original tag. There is some discoloration on the top(see photos) All doors are working properly. Measures 45 3/4" tall, 25 1/4" wide and 13 1/2" deep.

This auction contains a vintage barrister bookcase probably from the 1940's. It has three tiers and mostly in a very good condition with no cracks in the glass nor broken pieces in the wood. It was made by Hale of Herkimer. New York. It measures approximately 57 x 34 x 13 in total. Please take a close look at the pictures to determine if this is the condition you are looking for. Otto Wernicke of Grand Rapids patented the original elastic bookcase around 1892 and produced them in his own plant under the Wernicke name until around 1902. That's when he formed a partnership with Globe in Cincinnati and bookcases using his patent were produced under the Globe-Wernicke label. This is a rare double wide colonial barrister that comes apart for a total of 6 seperate pieces. The wood is Mahogany and is grade 598 1/2 the finest they made. The doors open and slide into the bookcase to protect the bookcases. This bookcase came from the library at Marymount college after it was closed. The brighter photos were taken with a flash. The bookcase is all original& retains all original parts, glass, knobs, sections. The condition is above average to better. It does need a polishing but that is minor. There are minor surface rub marks& use marks. There are no structural problems, the top lid's surface is solid wood& not the usual veneer, the wood is quartered oak(what ever that is) and shows a lot of grain through-out the cabinet& doors. Up for auction is a lovely antique barrister stacking bookcase. This lovely piece has 4 stacking bookcases. With one drawer on the bottom. The piece measures 34" wide, 57.5" tall, and 11" deep. All the cases slide open with ease still. One of the cases has a small chip along the edge of the glass, the chip does not go all the way through the glass however. There is normal wear and tear on this piece given the age and use, but only minor wear and scratches. I have shown various pictures of the like. There are holes drilled into the back of one of the cases with writing, it is also shown in the pictures. The drawer is missing the bottom of it as well. Let me know if there are any other questions.
