SOLID OAK NEWEL POST W/ ACORN FINIAL 41" HIGH
This is a newer used solid oak newel post that measures 3 1/2" square x 41" high. There were railings attached to two sides as you can see in the pictures and there is a round hole at the bottom. Overall it is in good condition. We have more than one of these available. It is available for pick up or can be shipped by Fed Ex ground for 15.80 including insurance. Red Oak Onion Pattern Newel Post Top - Finial
This is a northern red oak newel post top or it could be used as a finial. It is 5-31/32” tall. The small ball shape at the top is 1-7/8” in diameter. The fat part of the onion shape in the middle is 2-7/8” in diameter. The ring shape at the bottom is the same diameter. There is a hole drilled in the bottom that can be used for mounting. A double ended lag screw will be included with each part. These newel tops are for interior use only. They are made in Michigan by Acadian Woodworking. LLC. Description This is a newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and was painted and stripped. The original finial is intact. The top has 2 carved panels on each of three sides. All are different. The shaft is fluted with beveled corners. It measures 57.25 inches tall and 57.25 inches square at the base and 6 at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a few chips and nicks. One of the base pieces may be a replacement. Highly Carved Antique Victorian Oak Newel Post Cap in Original Condition
Here's a very ornately carved cap to an oak newel post which must have come from some impressive Victorian building. This would look stunning either built into a stairway of a Victorian home or as an interesting accent piece. There are a few chips. Bumps and nail holes and it is also quite dirty. But I'll leave any cleaning to the new owner. Although beautiful as is. The original quartersawn oak finish would certainly benefit from a little oil and wax to bring out the grain. It measures 21" tall by a maximum width of about 9 1/2" and weighs in at a hefty 17 pounds of solid oak. Shipping is $16 within the US only and pick up in person is free. Good luck!

First let me state I believe the wood is oak but iam not sure.The carved newel post is a true work of art restore it back to original wood and this is a fine piece of period workmanship.To have this item made would not only cost a fortune but possibly could not be duplicated.The other posts where at the ends of the staircase at the 2nd and 3floors they are 87-85-79 inches tall by 5 inches wide with cut outs as pictures show.The front carved post is 60x6-1/2 with cut out at bottom 44 inches from top point take a good look at the pictures this has fine detail hidden under paint.Its a true winner all the way for any other info email or call Vinny 1-631-300-7403 thanks.

It is larger than the standard 4 1/2" ball types made by Cumberland Woodcraft and is made in white oak rather than red oak. It is 9 1/4" high. Antique Solid Oak Architectural Carved Victorian Newel ? Post Column Pillar
Solid oak post or column measuring about 23 1/4" tall. The diameter of the plain end measures about 5" and the other end where the carving is measures about 7" in diameter. Some areas of the column are straight cut oak while on 2 sides there is tiger oak grain showing. This piece is unfinished. The end with the carving is flat on the bottom while the other end is concave.There is a small piece of the turned ring near the carved portion that is missing. Antique Carved Oak Newel Post Architectural Salvage Plant Stand This is a great antique oak stairway piece out an old mansion. We think it was salvaged in the early 70’s and has been stored in a garage. It has fantastic carving and details. The Newel Post that is 26 ½ inches tall. Base is 9 ½ inches across and the top is 6 ½ inches across on the largest side. There are a couple of chipped places. One is at the very top and is about 2 ½ inches and the other is 1 ½ inches on a top rung. Please see pictures) This piece has beautiful grain to the wood and has been left in original condition no to very little varnish remains. It would really make a nice fern/ plant stand. An unusually large antique boxed newel post in oak. Dating from the late 1800’s. The newel post begins with an unusual cap shaped like a spinning top; below, the newel post is ornamented on three sides with panels of beautifully carved flowers and leaves. The sides of the newel are ornamented with a vertical groove pattern and chamfered edges. Description This is a nice newel post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and was painted but has been stripped. The top of the post has carved flowers on three sides with nice Victorian details below. The shaft has Eastlake Spoon Carvings on three sides. There is a flower pot with vines and flowers. There is a cut out for the step at the bottom but is freestanding. The total measurements are 46.25 inches tall by 7.75 inches square at the base and 6 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. It needs a final finish sanding and it needs a finial. Antique ARCHITECTURAL Salvage Oak NEWEL POST with Old Chippy White Paint Size: 45 3/4" tall x 8" x 8" overall(all measurements are approximate) Description: This whimsical antique newel post will add architectural interest to your home- the possibilities are endless. These are often seen only in decorator magazines and are hard to find. Even in antique stores. This is out of a Victorian mansion in the Los Angeles area. This one is wonderful and heavy with nice thick moldings and a whimsical details. The old white paint is all perfectly time worn. Shabby and chippy. You can see the original oak wood underneath in the photos, in places where the paint is worn off. It has been indoors for all of it's life so there is no dry rot that I sometimes see on wood that has been out in the elements. Though the paint is chippy and worn ... moreit is not'shedding' as some others are. There are carved wooden ribbon applique details on 3 sides- so romantic! Please see the photos of showing the cut out notches on the bottom of the back side. They are pretty much all this way when they are removed from a stairway(see last two photos) This could easily be filled in with some old wood or you can just turn that side toward the wall as I have. Even with the notched-out area on the base it still stands alone and is quite sturdy. There is also a rough area near the top on the back side where it was removed from the banister. There are a few minor age splits on the surface of the wood that are tight and do not distract- just adds to its character. This one is flat on the top which is nice to use to display a statue or other objects. Vintage carved oak newel post finial. The overall combination of carved and turned shapes gives this piece a very distinctive and visually appealing appearance.The medium dark oak finish has been cared for with hand rubbed oil for many years in my home. The splayed base is topped with a turned shaft that supports a wide circular turned and carved body element. The wide body tapers to a turned finial topped with a circular crown. The wide circular body has some joints between segments of wood that have opened up. But. This only adds to the overall character of this piece. It is a survivor! Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is currently painted. It has its original finial. The top has carved flowers on three sides. The shaft has a unique barley twist design. The base is notched for the first two steps. The first step is 8 inches tall. This post is two pieces joined by dowels. They need to be reset and glued. It measures 54.75 inches tall by 7 inches square at the base. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good scrubbing but will clean up nicely. There are some small chips and nail and screw holes. This is a very fine antique Victorian Oak Newel Post Circa. 1870's. It has been both turned and carved. The dimensions are 48 1/2" in height by 7" in width. Condition overall is excellent. Weight is around 60 lbs and I am charging a flat rate of $75 for shipping but will return any unused funds to the buyer. I am not interested in making any money on the shipping and only want to recover actual costs.

Antique Architectural Newel Post Base Banister Base Tiger Oak Great Pedestal Too A 26 years long time antique dealer in this area is closing her doors for good. And I actually spent two days picking this weekend through her stuff. She specialized in very old primitives, but I was able to grab a little bit for everyone– I have some fabulous advertising, industrial, retro, deco, lots of store displays and apothecary too– you don’t want to miss this week! WOW. Do I love this one! It's a beautiful antique architectural piece for you. A post bottom of base of some sorts- it's 12 1/2 lbs heavy and in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- totally strong. Wouldn't it make a wonderful pedestal for your pretty? It's hollow on the inside, as you can see in my photos, with a solid wood base that has a single small hole at the ... morebottom, and numbers that are impressed in the wood- there's 18243, and then there's 396. I do not know the maker. You can also see wood pegs on the underside too- see photo 21- they are lighter in color and round. It measures 9 7/8" square at the base, 7 1/2" square at the body and 8 7/8' square at the top. The opening at the top is 4 1/4" square. It's 12 1/2" tall. I'm showing it next to my footstool in photo 2 for a size reference. The piece is covered with a tiger oak veneer, and you can see that there's one row of a carved look veneer just above the base- see photo 16. I do not know what the body wood is, but it's hard wood, and it even could be oak- see my top and bottom photos and what you think, as I am not sure. The patina is dark and shows a fair amount of wear to the finish- more aligatored crackles from age than anything. There's one corner that has a chip to the veneer- I'm showing it from one side in photo 19 and from the other side in photo 20.
