For sale is a fantastic rare set of 8 antique mahogany columns! They are 6 foot tall. The columns are 6 inches across. The footprint of the base and top is 10 inches square. All the bases and tops are included. The carving is wood. Some of the carving is missing. Maybe you know a plaster artist that can replicate the missing pieces. Most of the columns have the missing carved pieces on one side. you can pick up 30 miles west of Chicago in Oswego or you must arrange and pay for your own shipper. What IS it? A set of antique hand-carved fluted Corinthian columns from a Philadelphia home built in 1887. There are two free-standing columns and two sets of two columns each that go against a wall. The two freestanding columns are round. The two sets of columns that go against a wall are square with five flutes across the fron t of each and four flutes on each side. The carving on these columns is very fine and beautifully executed. How big? Height is 79 3/8 inches. Width of capitals at their widest is 8 1/2 inches. Matching Set of 6 Vintage Victorian Wooden Porch Columns
This is a very nice matching set of 6 Vintage Victorian Style Porch support columns. There are 4 main support columns and 2 close-out half columns which would be located at the end of the run. Dimensions are as follows: Overall length- 97 1/2 inches. The circumference at the top is 21 inches, the circumference at the bottom is 26 1/3 inches. Columns and matching trim items were removed as carefully as possible but as you can see some breakage has occurred. Thus some repair or reproduction work may be required. Great set of porch piers- columns- posts Salvaged in the midwest of a late 19th century farm house. Have very unique and custom cut out panel bases. Four corbel brackets under each upper molding section. Piers measure 100" tall- they are 80" high to the top molding section. The main shaft is solid wood- it is champfered on all four sides- this shaft measures 6" square. The molded edges at the top and lower part are 13" square on the widest part. Would look great re-used. In a garden for a pergola or arbor or even used indoors. SOLID wood- each column is about 90-110# Old. Crackeled& chippy white paint!
