Solid OAK Newel POSTS and STAIRCASE RAILING with Spindles =
For sale is a nice solid oak Railing and newel posts. The larger newel post is 51" tall and 8" square at the widest. The top to it is not original. A light was mounted there at one time. The electrical lines were still inside when I removed the post. Other than that it is in good shape needing cleaned and maybe refinished. Depending on your look. The railing is in great shape but one spindle does have a split in it. It is not broken but one does have a split. It is 110" long. The top newel post is 37"tall from floor to top. Then it has the extra length that would wrap down the side of the Stairs. It is only 5" square but the ball on top of it is original and can be used to replace the unoriginal one at the bottom. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from adjoining Pittsburgh Victorian home. They are made of oak and are currently painted. The original finials are in tact. They have Eastlake Spoon Carvings below the the finials. The top has carved oak leaf and acorn panels on three sides. There are ornate carved moldings above and below the panels. The shafts are fluted with turned 1/4 round columns at the corners. They are notched for the step. Your bid buys the pair. Each measures 56 inches tall by 7 square at the shaft and 8.5 square at the top. The black is a tad taller. Overall. They are in very good co ndition. They are not notched for the step. One has its original cap which is cracked and the other is missing the cap and molding just below it. It measures 37.5 without the cap. 6.5 square at the base and 5 inches square at the shaft. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. Eye catching pair of Cast iron newel posts circa 1890
This is a pair of circa late 1800s fancy cast iron newel posts.They are over 150lbs each and are large at 48inches tall and 9-1/2 inches wide and 8-1/2 inches wide at different ends.The 2 top finials get held together with a rod that gets screwed into the finial and set in cement when post is placed in its permanent position. I bought this antique railing over 40 years ago at an antique store- used part of it as a room divider until a redecoration. I believe the wood is either oak or walnut and that it is well over 100 years old. All parts seem to be from one unit from long ago. 1. the main part which I used consists of a railing which is 5' 10" long with 13 nice matching spindles and a matching newel post at the end which is 39 inches high and 5" square 2. a second matching newel post would be used at a corner- see pictures 3. another matching railing which is 4' 8" with a curve at the end 4. a bunch of spindles. Rare pair of matching late 1800s walnut newel posts
This is a very rare find 2 matching late 1800 newel posts made of what I believe is walnut.They came from 2 homes next to each other in Newyork being totally renovated.I also will list the handrails and spindles from the same home but the handrails appear to be matching walnut to these large newel posts and the spindles seem to be oak.They are around 54 inches tall and 9 and 9-3/4 inches wide and are complete with only a few small pieces of molding missing as pictures show.There are no cutouts for steps and only the screw to attach the handrails as far as weight my guess is 50-60lbs.This is a super nice item to install on opposite sides of a stairway or entrance.As stated I believe the wood is walnut with very nice color and grain where the paint is off in spots restore this back to the original look and they will be amazing in any ones home.For ... moreany other info email or contact Vinny 1-631-300-7403 thanks.

Complete Stair Newel Posts + Railing Set. From 1890 House. Timeless, Traditional
This is a complete stair railing set from an 1890 house in Denver. CO. You get three full 6x6 major newel posts, one half one that goes on a wall, and two lesser Newell posts with matching caps. You also get the big thick handrail with sections that measure: 72, 62, 47, 30, and 32 inches. As well as two curved sections. Then you get about 64 1x1 square balusters that range in height from 25, 32, 35, and 41 inches. Finally you get lots of detail pieces like bottom caps, cove, and nosing. This is the the complete railing system of a staircase that had two landings and rises about 10' with about 14 steps. The material is beautiful tight grain fir or pine and it has been painted several times. The newel posts are a very clean simple design of a combination of fluting and recessed panels. Some Victorian style got a little gaudy but this set ... moreis in a style that is still used on high end homes today. Very simple and tailored with square posts and balusters. It will fit in with any style home and especially traditional with historic elements. Newel posts: 39" from top to last molding piece and start of lower box section. Balusters: 25. 32, 35, 41 inches.
