They are painted white and have a chippy patina. 2 soild ~4 sided pieces. Photos 1- 7 show the full piece columns. 8-12 show the 1/2 columns. The second photo shows how I have used a pair in my home. I added hang hood and heavy wire to the back of the columns. I then added a heavy phto hook to my wall, then I hung the columns to the wall. I have 2(1/2) SOLD, the 1/2 are sold. Architectural Columns salvaged from 1895 Historic Geneva Home. This pair of columns was removed while renovating the house. They are interior round. Tapered wood columns that are 64.5” tall and 5 ¼” top) 8” bottom) in diameter. The square at the top end is 7.5” square. The top end still needs to be stripped and is not attached to the main column because it is where they were cut to be removed. They originally sat on two wood boxes but the boxes were unsalvageable. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Mansion. It is made of walnut and is painted. It may have a secondary hardwood also. The top has a modern light fixture. Just below the cap are arches with carved flowers and carved panels. The shaft is fluted with carved flowers and turned columns at the corners. It is notched for the step and is freestanding. It measures 53.25 inches tall. 9.75 inches square at the very bottom and 7 inches square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are small missing moldings at the bottom. Please see the pictures carefully. Ref: 11367 Shipping. 8 Eight Architectural antique mahogany wood columns set
For sale is a fantastic rare set of 8 antique mahogany columns! They are 6 foot tall. The columns are 6 inches across. The footprint of the base and top is 10 inches square. All the bases and tops are included. The carving is wood. Some of the carving is missing. Maybe you know a plaster artist that can replicate the missing pieces. Most of the columns have the missing carved pieces on one side. you can pick up 30 miles west of Chicago in Oswego or you must arrange and pay for your own shipper. Antique Mahogany Newel Post and 12' Railing - SOLID WOOD - Architectural Salvage
Available here is an antique newel post and railing. These are made of solid mahogany. No veneer here. You can't get anything like this anymore! The newel post stands almost 5' high. It is approximately 57" from floor to top of finial. It is in three pieces, a square base with a rounded stand, the rounded post and the top finial. The largest part of the square base is approximately 17.75"x17.75" There are threaded rods on the inside that connect the base and post together, the finial sits on top. There are specks of white paint around the newel post. I will let the buyer decide how to remove it. This newel post is meant to be at the bottom of a staircase. The railing is 12' long and approximately 5.5" wide. It is also made of solid mahogany. The bottom of the railing mounts flush onto the newel post. Antique Wood Carved Column table/stand plant Shabby , Architectural salvage
Hi for sale I have a rare Antique solid wood carved Column. I believe the wood is either oak or mahogany. It is painted white and has a chippy patina. This piece could be used as an accent piece. Table, or plant stand. Only a few others online for sale. This piece measures: 49 1/8" tall x top diameter: 11 1/4" x bottom diameter: 11 1/8" square. The piece was handmade. This column is heavy and large. I put it on the bathroom scale and it had a weight of around 50 to 60 pounds. The column has a knotch at one of the top middle sections( see photo# 6) I believe this was put there so it would fit at a staircase. Balcony Railing from an Old Church in NE Missouri - Architectural Antique
I have several views of this balcony railing that came from a church in Edina Mo. I have lots of it and can measure each section. Notice that one section has a curve to it and the post on one end raises up. must have been connect to a step. Some of the posts were attach to the wall and unfinished on one side and have an egg and dart carving. The railing is painted an old mustard color. really is darker than the pictures show. I have had this stored for years. I remember that one spindle was broken but I still have all of it and it would not be a problem to put it back on. This piece has been hand-carved out of a single piece of stone resembling an ancient column found in Greek or Roman temples. The work dates back to the 19 90's. But the stone can be hundreds of years old. All the carving was done with attention to detail. Making this a small piece of architectural art. The top has 2 carved panels on each of three sides. All are different. The shaft is fluted with beveled corners. It measures 57.25 inches tall and 57.25 inches square at the base and 6 at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are a few chips and nicks. One of the base pieces may be a replacement. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Pittsburg Victorian home. It is mad of oak and is currently unpainted. The original ball finial is intact. There are great carvings below the finial. The top of the shaft has carved faces on three sides that look Greek. The shaft has fluting with carved flowers and beveled edges. The base is not notched for the step. It measures 55.5 inches tall by 7.5 square at the base and 6 square at the shaft. Overall. It is in very good co ndition.
