This authenticated antique desk and chair has hand carvings throughout the entire desk even including the back. There are 5 carved open compartments for organizing and a hidden drawer that opens the full length of the desk with 4 divided sections inside. The center disposal is the original period velvet sack with a hanging cord attached to a lovely ivory pearl stone set within a bronze circular ring with designs. A walnut wood weight is attached. Hand wood carvings include 2 beautiful ladies protruding from sides of desk and removable cupid on the top that is attached to the lid that covers the compartment where the clock sits. The clock has 3 different hand designs and incased in bronze. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. It does move side to side and I hear ticking but is in need of adjusting. The clock is original and fits perfect to view from a circular opening made for it within the desk. This all original desk is in very good condition without repairs. It is hard to believe there are only two tips missing from the delicate finials. Located on left side underneath the desk and on the right side bottom between the legs. You will need to really search in the pictures because they are very hard to find. It is very rare to find a set. How fortunate to have this elaborate matching chair with velvet padded seat in such wonderful condition. The carvings are amazing and please view the lion and the Fiorentino symbol on the back of the chair. In my 30 years of experience I have never seen a desk set like this. It is 33 inches tall to the back of the chair. The seat of the chair is 17 inches from the ground. The back of the chair is 14 inches wide at it's widest point. The seat itself is 17 inches wide in the front and 13 inches wide in the back. The chair is quite old and as such has some condition issues. It has 2 splits on the back that I have tried to take pictures of. One can't be seen at all from the front of the chair. In the case of this chair I would suggest that it be mostly ornamental in nature. Even if this chair were perfect it would not be made to support the average American these days. Antique Oak Metamorphic Monks Chair/Table w/Spindle Arms/Carved Lion Head w/Eyes
We are delighted to offer to the market this stunning Monk's chair/metamorphic chair table. This piece dates to the early 1900's. We do not know the maker and any tage were long ago removed. Made from solid oak. This chair is a piece of art as well as a functional conversation piece. The back of the chair slides upward and flat across the arms to transform this piece into a functional table. The diameter across the top of the table is 36" It has a height of 29" The back side of the table which serves as the chair back has finely detailed carving representing a gothic lion head. The face has finely detailed teeth and whiskers. The inset eyes are made from glass and they glow when the light hits them just right. Quite a fascinating design. The ornate carved and scrolled arms have spindles flanking a heavy center pieces. The ... morefront of the chair has turned columns leading down to the seat frame box. Below the frame there is a section section boasting turned legs and straight mission style stretchers. The legs sit on the original brass casters. The arms have a height of 28" to the top of the scrolled area. The chair has a width of 22 7/16" from the outside edges of the arms and 18.5" from the inside edges of the arms. The depth at the center front to the back at the table is 23.75" The seat height is 15" to the wood edge and 20" to the top of the cushion. The cushion is not original to this piece and it is clear that someone did a poor recovery on it. There is some light soiling to the fabric and it is overhanging in some areas. The chair base has some very light surface scratches that are age and use appropriate. The table top also has some light scratches and divets from age and use. Overall the piece is in great condition and is absolutely stunning to look at. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. Up for sale today. I am offering a gorgeous antique wood carved chair. This is a very unique piece. Not only does it have beautiful ornate carvings throughout, there is a carving of a small girl on the top center of the chair. Her eyes have been outlined in gold, she is very haunting. Right not the back and seat are upholstered in red fabric, but one may desire to re-do the upholstery because it is not even. This chair was repainted a few years ago with a very dark brown finish. If you look closely you can see gold undertones. This chair is very old, it's been in my family for as long as I can remember. Pair of Antique Upholstered and Wood Arm Chairs Parlor French? Inlay and carved.
Pair of Antique Wood and Upholstered Arm Chairs- French Parlor Chairs? I looked all over eBay. Then all over the internet and couldn't find anything even close enough to these chairs to help me put a name on them. They are unique and beautiful but need a bit of TLC. I don't know just how old these chairs are but they were my mothers chairs and were part of our home my whole life, so we're talking at least 60 years. The arms have beautiful inlay and much of the detail appears to be hand carved. Mom always had a taste for the good stuff! And antiques. But I can't guarantee these to be older than 60ish. The upholstery is rather yellowed although she had them reupholstered about 30 years ago. The grain on the wood is raised in places. You can see it in some of the pictures. There is a slight separation where the arms meet the ... moreback, but these chairs are ROCK SOLID! They hold my 200 lbs without complaint. No creaks or wobbles. All four feet rest flat on the floor. These ARE PROBABLY UPS-ABLE. They are bulky. But not that heavy and I think I can get them into a box that will meet the size requirements. There is a small possibility that you may have to go motor freight, but I don't think it will come to that and if it turns out too expensive we could cancel the auction result and release you. The shipping includes insurance. The estimated price of two very large boxes and the cost to have UPS pick them up here. I have also provided a 10 day window on shipping to give me time to find the boxes and make all the preparations. It's solid wood with wonderful carvings in the seat and chair back. There is a nice heart shape cut out in the top of the back and two beautiful angels carved underneath. This is an antique wood carved leather chair. Purchased 20 years ago from a Pennsylvania estate sale. I do not know the age of the chair but the quality is beautiful. Pair Antique French Country Club Chairs White Fabric Green Carved Wood Trim
Fabulous Pair of French Country Large Club Chairs The white waffle fabric is not the original fabric. They had been recently re-upholstered when I bought them about 10 years ago. I bought these from an antiques dealer in Florida who said they came from France. But I don't have any documents to prove provinence. They are very heavy chairs. Very sturdy, with feather filled cushions. I paid around $2500 for these chairs including freight and tax. The upholstery is a really interesting waffle textured white fabric. There is some light yellow-ish staining on the upholstery. Mostly on the inside of the arms near the seat and near the button holes on the back. There is light brownish staining on the front edges of the arms, on the edge at the top and some on the seat. This is mostly from the studs bleeding when steam cleaning the chair, not ... morefrom being dirty. There are also a few pulls in the fabric, mostly on the inside of the chairs and seat cushions. The staining is light and not immediately noticeable. The chairs are still in very good condition and are an impressive pair of club chairs. I still love these chairs and normally wouldn’t be selling them but our new place just doesn’t work with this style. It’s possible a little bleach or a professional cleaning can get them back to completely bright white. These have been steam cleaned at home with Resolve upholstery cleaner but not professionally cleaned. Please view the enlarged pictures of the chairs on a large screen to see the detail. It measures 41" high. 25" wide(measured across widest part of arms) and approx. 68" all the way around the seat section. It has a pressed circular seat. But please note one of the tacks is missing. It has 9 spindles on the back- two large and seven smaller. Five spindles under each armrest- one large and four small. I am unsure of the age. PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION and look CLOSELY at pictures! This auction is for one chair as shown in the pictures. Chairs in the background are not included in this sale. This is a chair you don't see everyday. We have gone to auctions since we were kids and now run an auction house with weekly auctions and this chair. One of 4, is the first we have come across. Believe it came from a local masonic lodge and was removed after the building was sold. Have seen these called"presider" or"throne" chairs. It is sort of Gothis or Medieval looking to me. Of the 4 we have this one stands second from the tallest at 6 feet to the top of the center finial. About 27" across the arms. Back panel is about 25" wide at the widest point. Appears to be made of solid oak with leather cushion covering. Cushions appear to ... morebe stuffed with horse hair or similar material with coil springs and heavy straps that look like burlap, with a fabric cover over the bottom. This chair will need some restoration work but is fairly solid. One finial has broken dowels and a piece of the trim around it is missing, and there are small chips to edges and corners here and there. There are also some broken pieces at the bottom front of the seat(see picture) probably from the users feet coming back and hitting the little protrusions. Being sold PICKUP ONLY. Would also really like the buyer to look at it in person and or ask any questions before bidding. I personally don't feel 12 pictures is enough for something like this. If a potential buyer would like to discuss having this shipped we would be willing to discuss it BEFORE you bid on it. Personally have no clue as how to go about shipping something like this. There is a paper label on the bottom indicating this. It also reads"Modern Chairs of Quality" There is a chalk mark reading"14/6322" We are not sure what type of wood this is made of- possibly walnut or mahogany. It has a lovely dark finish with and even patina on the chair back, where the face is featured. Hand made nails Golden colored with floral needlepoint Thick padded back& seat Oriental/gothic influenced hand carved wood Front casters are original This is a very unique style and I haven't been able to find anything like it. All of the nails(including the very large one with the square nut pictured in photo#9) have all handmade heads. Has a black finish which appears to be the original finish. Has these unique finger hooks on the top in the back(see photo#4) Your fingers fit perfectly under them so that you can lift the back and roll it on the front casters. This piece is in really good shape for its age. The wood has finish rubbed off in spots throughout and the chair may need some slight tightening. But tight for the most part and certainly sturdy enough to use. ... moreIn photo#3, you can see a small, round, clear spot on the seat. In photo#9, there is a large bolt head showing in the back of the chair by the seat and the end& nut show on the bottom.it's not like that on the other side. It appears to be hand planed and DEFINITELY hand carved. The black fabric on the bottom is newer and without removing it. I'm not sure what's underneath, but in pulling the sides back a bit, all of the nails are hand made& old. Other than the staples holding on that back fabric, all of the hardware is 19th century. I believe that it had been reupholstered at some point due to original nail holes around the current edges of the fabric. It sounds like it is filled with some straw and under the black bottom fabric, there is what looks like a potato sack type of material. So, I'm thinking that if it were reupholstered, it was done a long time ago. There are nicks and paint missing throughout from use. The overall presence of this piece in the room is just awesome. I can certainly imagine see this in a fine ladies parlor. The casters are brass. VERY C

Antique CARVED OAK ROCKER Rocking Chair w/ LEATHER TUFT SEAT& BACK Antique oak rocker. I believe the back to be leather and it appears to be original. The seat has been reworked over the years and is NOT leather. All the wood is oak. All the carvings are within the wood and I would believe are hand carved because of the mere age of the piece. The back is beautiful and very unique. The rocker is solid with the wood in excellent condition. Perhaps one may want to refinish the seat in what I would guess was probably tufted with deep set buttons. This was popular during the mid to later 1800's. It is real comfortable. 29-1/2" wide up at the top by the big tufted buttons where the back takes on a wing appearance. 29-1/2" wide at the top on the plain arms top.
