Included is an Antique Wooden Rocking Chair. It is very interesting looking. I'm not sure of the age but it looks quite old. The condition seems to be pretty solid. The finish appears to be original. The fabric is quite worn and everything needs a good cleaning. Added info 1/26/2011(From Buyer email) Hi. Just FYI this is a"platform" rocker, made about 1880. The upholstery was usually inline woven carpeting which came in rolls about 27 inches wide(before wall-to-wall looms this carpeting was stitched together to fit an area) and quite flat. This chair was handmade in Lanett, AL in the early 40's. Chair is 33" tall. Seat is 14 1/2" deep x 17" wide and 16" from the floor. I would expect this chair was made for a 5-8 year old. Up for bid is this vintage child's rocking chair bursting with character! It's old and well loved. And the wood shows some wear, as does the fun macrame seat. But it's sturdy and in good physical condition. It measures 23" high, 14 1/2" wide, and the rocker is 20" long. The sitting area is 9 1/2" x 11" and is 10" from the ground. Antique Vintage Wooden Rocking Chair Childs Childrens Sewing Needlepoint bent
The auction is for an antique rocking chair. It has great patina to it. The seat is a blue needlepoint and it has a nice woven backrest. In terms of age I would say somewhere around the turn of the century but I am not certain on that. It looks as though the needlepoint cover may have been added at a later date. It looks to be either a child's chair or a sewing chair. The dimensions are tallest point approx. 29 inches. Seat height 10 inches, seat itself 12.5 inches by 13.5. The chair is not perfect but it is in very nice shape for its age. There is a couple of screws that appear to have been replaced over the year and the seat needlepoint shows a little browning from age. Check out the photos and feel free to ask any questions. Antique/old wooden rocking chair - needs repair - great project for woodworker
This auction is for an old/antique rocking chair. It has been in my family for over 50 years. But no one has a deep attachment to it. I don't have any family members to ask about the origins, original purchase, etc. so my details are scant. The chair is made of wood and is in a cherry finish. The seat is split cleanly about 2" off the center(see photo) so it needs to be repaired. If you are picking up locally, I do have a repair quote from a woodworking shop/furniture repair shop in West Columbia for $25 for repair of the seat. This comes from my pet free and smoke free home. Here is what I believe to be a Vintage wooden baby/ toddler/large doll rocking chair. A one year old child could fit in this.And a very small two year old. It measures around 16 inches high,11 inches width and 16 inches length of the bottom rocker area.It looks to be homemade,although I am only guessing. It is a beautiful dark wood,and the bear looks to be carved. The rocker bottom has a long crack,and could be replaced or fixed. There are areas of chipping and missing wood on the front and very back of the rocker bottom ends.They could probably be replaced. There is a tiny bit of paint dots inside seat.Please look at the photos very closely,this chair needs the bottom rocker area refurbished.It is a very attractive rocker with the little carved bear,and has little claws on the arms, which are really cute. I haven't seen too many like ... morethis one. It could be fixed up to look very nice.If you're into restoration,this rocker is for you.It needs a lot of TLC. Vintage Industrial Wooden Banker's Chair - Swivels & Springloaded Rocking Back
This is a Vintage Industrail Wooden Work Chair- Swivels& Springloaded Rocking Back. I can not find a maker's mark on it. It is vintage- it is industrial- it is awesome! All wood. Brass and steel construction. I think it is oak- but not 100% sure. At it's lowest point- it is approx. 30 inches high. At its highest- it appears to be able to add another 6 inches onto the height. Vintage child's rocker. Measures 22 1/2" tall. 21 3/4" long including the feet. The floor to seat is 9" The seat measures 10 3/4" from the back of the chair to the front. The seat is 11 1/2" between the front arms and 8 1/2" in the back. All measurements are approximate. You can see by the pictures that this is in used condition and shows wear from age and use.
