Very good overall condition, This elegant oak monks chair was crafted in England around 1900. Which places it at the close of the Victorian period and the beginning of the Edwardian period. The oak remains very beautiful, with a lovely patina and a distinct grain. Intricate carvings adorn the front, while the armrests feature turned columns. The most unique feature of this chair is the folding backrest, which drops down and slides forward to make this chair into a two-tiered side table. The seat also opens to reveal a small storage space, making this chair as useful as it is charming. The right armrest has developed a small separation in the wood, which is part of the natural aging process, and there are a few scuffs characteristic of an antique piece, but otherwise this chair remains quite attractive and sturdy. Overall condition is therefore very good. The sides look great. Shown here is the other side. Shown here is the back. The seat opens to reveal a convenient storage space. The oak displays a distinct grain. This seat remains as sturdy as it is elegant. With intricate carvings along the front. This must be the season for chairs. We are offering a gem of a rocker to you that is tough for us to part with. This one is a Stickley Brothers#790 rocker. This form is very hard to find. We are glad it turned up and we gladly restored it. It is in excellent overall condition. And has very well matched new leather upholstery. The measurements are 36 inches tall, 27 1/2 outside arm, and 16 inches seat to floor. It has a great fumed oak color and grain, retains its brass Quaint Furniture tag. It is in 3 out of 4 known Stickley Brothers catalogs. This would be a welcome addition to any bungalow, mission oak, or Stickley- style household. Also a great chair for someone just starting out, as it is as comfortable as it is useful. The chair has a few dings and scratches and a very small section of the arm that is not perfect, but it is in used, ... morenot abused condition. It is sturdy and solid, and lots of life left to offer comfort and enjoyment for years to come. It is 33 inches tall to the back of the chair. The seat of the chair is 17 inches from the ground. The back of the chair is 14 inches wide at it's widest point. The seat itself is 17 inches wide in the front and 13 inches wide in the back. The chair is quite old and as such has some condition issues. It has 2 splits on the back that I have tried to take pictures of. One can't be seen at all from the front of the chair. In the case of this chair I would suggest that it be mostly ornamental in nature. Even if this chair were perfect it would not be made to support the average American these days. This set came out of a courthouse in the New Hampshire mountains, and they were refinished five or six years back. The courthouse sold them because a couple of them have split seats, and they were afraid the courthouse would get sued if someone ended up with a splinter in the wrong place, if you know what I mean. Their loss is our gain: Can you imagine putting these around a conference table? How about inside a home theater or a large dining room table? The chairs are finished in a medium oak stain, and have seven slats in the back that curve like a popsicle stick. The arms are all steamed ash bent oak, as shown in the pictures, with multi-turned spindles supporting them and the original iron rod that keeps the arm tight at all times. The base has multiple turned legs, multiple turned spindles across the front as cross stretchers, and the original metal cross bracing, which we used to take out before selling the item in the old days, but which people now seem to like. We are delighted to offer to the market this stunning Monk's chair/metamorphic chair table. This piece dates to the early 1900's. We do not know the maker and any tage were long ago removed. Made from solid oak. This chair is a piece of art as well as a functional conversation piece. The back of the chair slides upward and flat across the arms to transform this piece into a functional table. The diameter across the top of the table is 36" It has a height of 29" The back side of the table which serves as the chair back has finely detailed carving representing a gothic lion head. The face has finely detailed teeth and whiskers. The inset eyes are made from glass and they glow when the light hits them just right. Quite a fascinating design. The ornate carved and scrolled arms have spindles flanking a heavy center pieces. The ... morefront of the chair has turned columns leading down to the seat frame box. Below the frame there is a section section boasting turned legs and straight mission style stretchers. The legs sit on the original brass casters. The arms have a height of 28" to the top of the scrolled area. The chair has a width of 22 7/16" from the outside edges of the arms and 18.5" from the inside edges of the arms. The depth at the center front to the back at the table is 23.75" The seat height is 15" to the wood edge and 20" to the top of the cushion. The cushion is not original to this piece and it is clear that someone did a poor recovery on it. There is some light soiling to the fabric and it is overhanging in some areas. The chair base has some very light surface scratches that are age and use appropriate. The table top also has some light scratches and divets from age and use. Overall the piece is in great condition and is absolutely stunning to look at. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. The chair seat swivels and the chair rolls around on casters. 16" wide x 19" deep x 35-1/2" high overall with a 19" seat height as you see it in the pictures. Looking underneath I can see that you can lower it down about 1-1/2" and you have about 6" total screw extending down below the spinning disk. You should be able to raise it 2 or 3 inches anyway. Seat height would then range between about 17-1/2 and maybe 22" You merely turn the disk to change the seat height. I lowered the seat to the minimum for shipment. The seat back has a black material tacked into place on the sides. I think it's old leather. But for all I know, it could be something else. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Beautiful. I found a few issues which I think are not very noticable. There was a crack in the top of the upright back support timber that I had to glue(the crack extending below the slot was not glued) One nut securing that support was replaced with a more modern one at some point, there is a split in the wood surface on the back of the

Antique small oak rocking chair pretty wood grain LOCAL PICK UP ONLY
Here’s a cute little rocking chair. Pretty oak wood. I think this is quite old. It originally had a cushion spring type seat which was worn out. I replaced it with a solid seat. It needs a cushion to lay on the seat. The arms are a bit wobbly. They can be tightened up by removing the wooden plugs at the screw holes. The plugs are probably glued in so they won’t be savable when you dig or drill them out. You can buy replacement plugs cheap. Or you can leave the arms wobbly. They’re not really ready to fall off or anything. Just wanted you to know about them. The chair is 35 inches high. The seat is 15 inches high, 21 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The"MADE BY" insignia is located under the right arm rest. When in use. The back is approximately 20.5" high, and it's full width is 16" As seen. It folds down into a compact unit. It appears that everything is original. Except, there's a screw on the left back leg that serves as a safety mechanism and I not sure if that's part of the original chair. See last picture. Beautiful Hand made red oak rocking chair. Bought in North Georgia near Plum- Nelly in 1969, chair has been in possession of current owner ever since. The chair was made prior to that year and looked old back then. Top is original leather, seat was worn-out when bought and was re-covered in early 70's, all brass tacks are original. PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION and look CLOSELY at pictures! This auction is for one chair as shown in the pictures. Chairs in the background are not included in this sale. This is a chair you don't see everyday. We have gone to auctions since we were kids and now run an auction house with weekly auctions and this chair. One of 4, is the first we have come across. Believe it came from a local masonic lodge and was removed after the building was sold. Have seen these called"presider" or"throne" chairs. It is sort of Gothis or Medieval looking to me. Of the 4 we have this one stands second from the tallest at 6 feet to the top of the center finial. About 27" across the arms. Back panel is about 25" wide at the widest point. Appears to be made of solid oak with leather cushion covering. Cushions appear to ... morebe stuffed with horse hair or similar material with coil springs and heavy straps that look like burlap, with a fabric cover over the bottom. This chair will need some restoration work but is fairly solid. One finial has broken dowels and a piece of the trim around it is missing, and there are small chips to edges and corners here and there. There are also some broken pieces at the bottom front of the seat(see picture) probably from the users feet coming back and hitting the little protrusions. Being sold PICKUP ONLY. Would also really like the buyer to look at it in person and or ask any questions before bidding. I personally don't feel 12 pictures is enough for something like this. If a potential buyer would like to discuss having this shipped we would be willing to discuss it BEFORE you bid on it. Personally have no clue as how to go about shipping something like this. Antique Oak Highback Chair North Wind & Dog Motif Rare
This is an incredibly unusual antique oak high back chair. This chair came from the estate of the famous Guy Lombardo's Ct. residence and I purchased it from an estate liquadator in the 1970's. It is the most unusual chair that I have ever seen. It seems hand carved. Very detailed with the face of the north wind featured on the back and on the arms are carved heads of dogs. For a change, my photos seem to be clear so that the back details can easily be seen. It is one of a pair of host and hostess chairs originally from the dining room set. I will sell both if desired and each will be $350 It is an amazing conversation piece and everyone who has ever seen it in my home has oohed and aahed over it. It is on castors. Antique. Late 1800’s to early 1900’s, pressed back oak high chair with caning. Please review the pictures for the beatiful details of the pressed back design. The caning on the seat is in excellent condition. It measures 39” high by 16” deep(from the back leg to the front foot rest) by 14” wide. There are no chips, repairs or scratches on this piece that I can see and it is in overall great condition, especially for its age. It has dark areas of the wood at the joints from age. The seat has been reworked over the years and is NOT leather. All the wood is oak. All the carvings are within the wood and I would believe are hand carved because of the mere age of the piece. The back is beautiful and very unique. The rocker is solid with the wood in excellent condition. Perhaps one may want to refinish the seat in what I would guess was probably tufted with deep set buttons. This was popular during the mid to later 1800's. It is real comfortable. 29-1/2" wide up at the top by the big tufted buttons where the back takes on a wing appearance. 29-1/2" wide at the top on the plain arms top. This beautiful old child’s Lincoln Rocker is made from solid oak wood. It has a wonderful patina and overall appearance. I purchased this rocker at an antique store about 20 years ago. The cane seat needed replaced. And I replaced it with a gorgeous antique faux leather seat by“SPAULDING FIBRE PRODUCTS” as is stamped on the bottom of the seat. As is the case with most children’s rockers, this chair was barely used by my grandchildren…mainly for photos! It is sound and sturdy and ready to rock! In excellent antique condition. With the normal minor wear that you would expect in a chair this old.
