Hand made nails used Golden colored with floral needlepoint Thick padded back& seat Oriental/gothic influenced hand carved wood Front casters are original This is a very unique style and I haven't been able to find anything like it. All of the nails(including the very large one with the square nut pictured in photo#9) have all handmade heads. Has a black finish which appears to be the original finish. Has these unique finger hooks on the top in the back(see photo#4) Your fingers fit perfectly under them so that you can lift the back and roll it on the front casters. This piece is in really good shape for its age. The wood has finish rubbed off in spots throughout and the chair may need some slight tightening. But tight for the most part and certainly sturdy enough ... moreto use. In photo#3, you can see a small, round, clear spot on the seat. Please see the photos for more details as the photos act as part of the description as well. In photo#9, there is a large bolt head showing in the back of the chair by the seat and the end& nut show on the bottom.it's not like that on the other side. It appears to be hand planed and DEFINITELY hand carved. The black fabric on the bottom is newer and without removing it. I'm not sure what's underneath, but in pulling the sides back a bit, all of the nails are hand made& old. Other than the staples holding on that back fabric, all of the hardware is 19th century. I believe that it had been reupholstered at some point due to original nail holes around the current edges of the fabric. It sounds like it is filled with some straw and under the black bottom fabric, there is what looks like a potato sack type of material. So, I'm thinking that if it were reupholstered, it was done a long time ago. There are nicks and paint missing throughout from use. The overall presence of this piece in the room is just awesome. Hi I have for sale is a parlor set. The loveseat. Chair and rocker. There are in excellent condition. I do not know what the wood made out of. Its heavy wood. The feet has claw feet and also the seat come off. They are blue colors and can be take off to be washed. I have them set up in a room in my house. I bought them about 10 year ago. Hello. You are viewing my auction for an Antique Victorian High Back Parlor Chair with a Floral Fabric tree pattern. This is a Large chair that measures 36" high by 32" wide. There are 4 legs to this chair. The wood accents throughout the border sections are carved with intricate detailing. I am unsure of the exact type of wood that is carved on this chair. The fabric is superb with no rips or tears present. There is some fading to the color on the back rest section. I have shown this in my photographs. I am unsure if this is the original fabric for this chair or was it reupholstered. This is a lovely chair for any Victorian style home. It is a practical chair that can be used.
