A Pair of Vintage Eames / Herman Miller DCM chairs - circa middle 50's
Great pair of vintage DCM chairs by Charles Eames for Herman Miller. Middle 1950's production( judging from the foil labels) Both chairs are in very good vintage condition. One chair has had the shock mounts for the backrest repaired at some point but the bond seems to be holding well. Both chairs have unusual metal glides. One chair has a small chip to the veneer on the top front of the seat back. The other chair has a chip on the underside of the front edge which isn't visible when upright. Being offered for sale is this fabulous set of 3 Victorian Walnut& Burl Walnut Parlor Chairs with Carved Ansonia Heads attributed to John Jelliff circa 1875. Set set of chairs has a commanding presence and feature beautiful detailed carvings one expects from fine Victorian pieces of the 19th century. The 2 side chairs each measures 42 inches in total height from the floor to the very top of the back.With a total width of 21 3/4 inches, a seat width of 18 1/2 inches, seat depth of 18 inches and seat height to the floor measures 17 inches and each side chair weighs approximately 25 lbs. The arm chair measures 44 1/2 inches in height from the floor to the top of the carved back. Arm to arm width measures 28 1/2 inches, seat width measures 20 inches, seat depth measures 22 inches and seat height to the floor measures 16 inches and this chair ... moreweighs approximately 35 lbs. These chairs are covered in a vintage peach-apricot velvet fabric with matching gimp trim. The fabric has no rips or tears but does show some light fading and some tiny speckles are on the seat of the armchair. While these chairs do have a commanding presence when scrutinized closely you can see that each chair does have some old repairs. Ie: each side chair does have a old repaired front left leg, one of the side chairs has an old repair to the hip rests and the arm chair has old repairs where the arms join to the back. I have tried to show some of these areas in the pictures. These three chairs are priced with the apologies in mind as just one of these chairs would normally be more than the price I am asking for all three. These rocking chairs were purchased in 1967. We were told that the age then was thirty years. We never started to upholster so they sat in the same spot in a enclosed carport all this time. They would look great if they were upholstered. The wood is damage free. A coat of varnish would make them shine just like they did in the 40's.or 50's. This is a pair of french style arm chairs made by the Mazor Masterpiece Store. Which was located at 911 7th st. Washington, D.C. from 1937-1980. The arm chairs have a country french straight leg design covered in gold fabric. Unfortunatley the fabric is damaged on one chair and stained on both. The chairs are very sturdy structually. They are a good size. The measurements are 34" high and 22" wide at the back, 28" wide and 21" deep on the seat, 17 1/2" high to the top of theremovable cusion and 10 1/2" high from the floor to the top of the frame. We believe these chairs to have their original finish and the cane seats are in excellent antique condition. Each chair measures a total height from the floor to the top of the back of 34 inches. With a seat width of 16 1/2 inches, seat depth of 15 1/2 inches and seat height of 17 3/4 inches and each chair weighs approximately 8 lbs. These 19th century chairs feature a shaped crest-rail. This is a very nice miniature 3 piece set 2 chairs and a settee in solid oak very good condition. There is a little damage to the left seat of the settee but apart from that every thing is fine. Great for dolls or teddy bears or small children. It has to the back like a harp carved, it sits on cabriole legs and l would say it was made in USA. The price is for the 3 pieces. There is a 2-shelf storage area in the lower portion of the cabinet. It has 6 matching shabby chic ladder-back dining room chairs; Two with arms and 4 without arms. The cushions have been replaced a number of times and need a good cleaning now or to be replaced. I still have the material we used last time and it will be included with the chairs. They measure 32 1/2" height. 17" to height of seat. Seat measures 17 1/2" wide x 17" depth. Back of chair is 14" wide. The chairs have been handed down the generation. Drexel Furniture Inc Antique Dining Table and six side chairs Walnut The Drexel Furniture model# 5016 table is 64" x 42" and has a one foot center of table based extension that makes table increase to 74" This table is circa 1940's and has 6 matching side chairs which have been recovered but do have original fabric underneath. The table has two large hand carved pedestal legs that have brass footings as shown in pictures above. The table and chairs were used as part of dining room set that was over 75 years old and separately listed Brickwede Brothers china and sideboard buffet. Original manufacturers label is shown and located on top of one of pedestal base legs. The table and chairs are located in Short Hills NJ and are offered for local pickup only.
