The needlepoint upholstery is 18th or early 19th century and is in fair condition. It probably needs to be replaced as it is quite fragile and tnere is some damage. Last listing of these chairs before they go in a local shop on consignment. I have for your consideration a very handsome pair of European handmade walnut throne chairs. I am not sure of their age but they are definitely early 20th century or possibly 19th century pieces and could be Italian manufacture as I've found other Italian made throne chairs with similar design. My wife simply liked them and bought them so we don't know their history. Each chair is solid with no loose joints or damage other than normal age wear. You can see and feel the hand made craftsmanship and each one has slight differences in the carvings and some of the wood has worm holes which was part of the character we liked about them. Here for your pleasure is an adorable child's rocker.unusual. Originally folding I think. From the late 1800's or early 1900's is my(somewhat educated) opinion. I am guessing on its being walnut. It is in fine sturdy condition with an old repair. Joints tight. It measures 17" deep by 12.5" wide and 12.5" high at the back and the seat is 11" high. As with any antique. There are imperfections. The seat fabric is a modern vinyl. An old needlepoint, a section of old Kilim rug(they make pillows from such sections) a remnant of quilt.any of these would be a charming new cover if desired. Vintage turn of the century child's lounge chair. Chair would have originally had caning. But I am guessing around 30 or so years ago someone did a very nice tin punch design with a heart and other scrolling. This can easily be removed if you would like to go back to original style as there is no modification to the walnut? Frame is solid and very sturdy.
