Vintage Pair of Cherub or Angel Table Lamps - Made by L&L WMC
Vintage Cherub Lamps- Made sometime between 50's and 70's- They come With GREEN CLOTH SHADES ONLY We found these two lamps in a storage unit that went up for auction and after a little investigating I found the makers from the makers mark located on the lamps but was unable to find pictures of the original globes. The previous owner must have added the green shades you see in the photos and lost a couple of the screws that hold the glass globes(shades) in place. I have added the missing screws now but there is one on each that doesn't match. There are photos added that show what they look like with tulip type glass shades but these do not come with the lamps(I am selling them separately in a set of 3) I also added a photo that shows a similar lamp with a glass globe and think this may be similar to what the lamps originally came ... morewith.but cannot confirm this. You can find nicer globes. Material shades or glass shades for these fairly easily but it would be personal taste so I am selling them with the green shades as pictured. The company who made these is L&L WMC = Loevsky& Loevsky White Metal Castings and was a company situated in New Jersey. The company operated between the 50's and 70's. The switches are on the cords about a foot from the lamps and the cords are nice and long. Maybe 7 or 8 feet in length. You can also use Christmas lights as bulbs(I was told) so you can have a variety of color options. I also do not know if these lamps are bronze. VINTAGE BRASS& DARK CRANBERRY GLASS HANGING LAMPS This is a beautiful pair of hanging lamps in perfect condition. The lamps measure 10" from the opening at the top to the point at the bottom; the diameter is 6" at the widest part of the globes. M ade in India using their unique intricate detailing. Are bands of brass wrapped around dark cranberry glass globes. They are an elegant way to create soft lighting using candles, floating candles or oils. I wanted to put these lovely globes up for auction but the bracket on one of the hanging wall hooks had broken off so I took it to be welded. Please see pictures of the welding repair. I've also showed a picture of the bracket that is alright. The bracket is now firmly in place however there is a very small area on the front of the wall hook that has a little discoloration; I was ... moretold that it was cause from the heating temperature needed to do the repair. The overall condition of the two wall hooks is very good. It's hard to describe the beauty of these hanging globes. I hope my pictures make a good impression. Exquisite! This is an extremely nice and rare pair of antique lamps. This beautiful pair features fine porcelain with green glaze paint. And exceptionally hand painted in a floral and leaf pattern. The hand painting is expertly accomplished with beautiful and purposeful brush strokes. The floral design is hand outlined in a gold gilt/gild paint. The porcelain section of each lamp is"footed" in gold and rests upon a circular brass base. The porcelain sections also have a long neck which are also highlighted with gold gilt. There are no manufacturers marks, but the lamps are each signed"La Touche" which is French for"touched" with the meaning of"something that moves you" These lamps certainly will move you as they are spectacular! The pair are in excellent. Antique condition. There are no chips or cracks ... moreto the porcelain. There is no crazing to the finish. The brass bases have an aged patina. The pair retain the original harps and the very heavy and ornate finials. PLEASE NOTE that there are no shades with the pair. The wiring is older vintage but looks very good and both lamps are in good working condition. There is an on/off switch on each cord. Lamps are 22.5" to light socket and 33" to the tops of the finials. There are 7.5" in diameter at the widest point of the porcelain bodies and they are 6.25" in diameter at the bases. Pair vintage Pierced BRASS LOVE BIRDS Table LAMPS Moroccan Hollywood Regency
Listed is a pair of vintage pierced brass table lamps. Each featuring a love bird motif. Each brass lamp base comprises of three pierced brass pieces. Which screw together with threading on inner lips. I have photographed them two ways. One is ideally how they could look(photos# 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and the other how the one on the right actually looks when screwed together tightest. The lamp right tightens up a little off eye balance(photos#7. 8& 9) It shows where the middle piece with the birds on it tightens up tightest to be a little off balance between base piece where cord comes out and neck piece/ with dragon beards/handles. Electrical looks to have been rewired in more recent years. But one socket sitting a tiny bit higher, so I think you might just want your local lamp shop to rewire them correctly and then put them back together in ... morebalance. Maybe think of adding a marble/lucite base and inner rod to run cord through. All in all. Wonderful lamps, just need a little tweeking/refurbishing. The nicely burnished metal lamps have ornate bases that measure 4" square and enameled flower accents that still show a hint of their original pink color. They stand 13" high without the lightbulbs-with lightbulbs and shades, they measure almost 17" high. As you can see from my photos, they are in excellent working condition and do not need to be rewired. Which is, AWMP CO. 552" and I think that mark is for the metal base part only. Each Lamp body is made of a porcelain or china material, with a flower decoration. I would guess the flowered design bodies were likely made in France, Germany or another European Company. The Lamps came from the estate of the original owner, have been well cared for, and even have the original matching Finials, I am not positive but these hand painted finials are likely made of wood. Each Lamp has the same Flower designs on the front and back. If you look closely at my photos, the flower designs on the front side of the lamps is more elaborate, than the backside, where the electric cords come ... moreout. The electrical sockets and cords look to be likely original, and seem to be in fine working condition. If you looks closely at the electrical cords there are a couple of areas where the gold silk covering has worn off, but the actual wire casing under that is in fine condition. In good working con dition as the pics show with some wear from age as s hown. The porcelain has some imperfections as s h own with the woman's hand no longer being attached to the dog. One of the finials is not original as shown and one of the shades is slightly di scolored. On e of the brass bot toms is damaged in what I believe was an attempt to see the underside to find a maker's mark but there is m ore metal under it. I'm not sure of the make but they remin d me of Nymphenburg porcelain but I cannot say fo r sure. But the little push button to turn on and off doesn’t. We could not get the girl lamp to turn on. The numbers A566 are on the bottom. No other markings that I could find. (2) Vintage Trench Art Lamps made from M43 81mm Mortar Rounds on Piston Base
Here is your chance to pick up(2) trench art lamps made in the 1940's. The are made from(2) M43 81 MM Mortar Shells and the bases are pistons from the same time period. These are REAL Mortar Rounds that were made safe and used to make these lamps. The rounds have been chromed to match the piston base. I cannot identify the pistons but they are probably from a military vehicle from the 1940's and are in good shape. Both lamps work and both are in great shape. These were made really well and I have provided pictures showing the holes made for the electrical cord as well as the vintage power cord end. The mortar rounds are marked Lot 15- 47- 3FA 81 MM M43 EDB and were roll marked as they did in the 40's. The lamps are 15 inches tall and the piston base is 6 inches wide. Here is a little information on the M43 81MM Mortar: The first ... moreattempt to obtain more efficient trench mortar ammunition was with the development of the 75-mm smooth bore mortar in which the old 75-mm French type shell was modified by tapering the shell from the bourrelet back to the base. And fitting an aluminum fin in the base of the shell. The round was propelled by means of an ignition cartridge inserted in a short cartridge case, and with propelling increments inserted between the blades of the fin. The stability of the round was not satisfactory, and the development was abandoned. A streamlined projectile with fin assembly was then designed for the 3-inch trench mortar with poor results. Several attempts were made with shell of different contours, but proved unsatisfactory because proper stability was not obtained. After World War I. There was an early trend away from the low powered, muzzle-loading Stokes mortar to breech and rifled mortars which were mounted on wheels.
