Vintage MOREAU lamp Collection Francaise Signed
You will be bidding on a fabulous L.F. Moreau Art Noveau style lamp. The lamp is made in the U.S.A. and is part of the Collection Francaise. It was purchased from a wealthy estate in Historic Mobile. Alabama. The home of Mardi Gras! The lamp features a lovely French lady reading as she takes a leisurely stroll. I'm guessing that this lamp is the rarest of the collection, because I have been unsuccessful at finding another like it after searching for hours online. One unique feature of the lamp is that it does't require a shade, and all the crystal accents are present and not damaged. Aug Moreau Signed Art Deco Woman Figural Lamp As seen in our pictures below. We have a Art Deco figural lady lamp, that is signed on the back by Aug Moreau, and has a plate attached to the marble base, that says FLORE par Aug. Moreau. This lamp has the bronze lacquering worn off, and the base metal can be seen through this. It has what we will call a corrosion patina, like it was weathered, and a couple of leaves at the top are broken off. There is an old cloth electrical cord with a good plastic plug. With solid wiring, and will take a small bulb in the socket. We didn’t try it out, but looks like it will still work. The marble base is in great shape with no chips or cracks. Antique L & F Moreau, Cast Spelter "Harvesters" Table Lamp Set-Art Nouveau
A great pair of L& F Moreau spelter and polychrome enamel table lamps. Beautifully sculpted in the art nouveau style. These two are the most beautiful/handsome"Harvesters" you will ever see and they are in pretty nice condition. He' has almost all of his enamel decoration(one small touch up on copper tube) but has been rewired, where'She' is missing quite a bit of the enameling but has what appears to be original wiring. There are shades with these, but with a little hunting, a nice set can be found. They measure about 7 1/4"W at the base x 14 3/4"T to the top of the figures x 33"T to top of the finials. Antique signed Moreau bronze metal piano lamp. This stunning lamp features a figural style man playing a piano with two lamps coming up the sides of the piano. The metal is smooth but unpolished with patina which could likely be polished if desired. The back of the piano is dated 1932. It has plenty of detail to the ornate design and is fully signed as pictured. It is in original condition and has most of the white paint accenting the base part of the lamp. Green Glass Fruit Basket Moreau Figural Newel Post Art Deco Spelter Lamp Shade
Hello- I used a lamp that I have to show you the shade. The ceramic lamp is not included. This is a wonderful Glass Fruit Basket Lamp Shade. The glass lamp shade is approx. 13 3/4" high alone. And is about 8" at the widest. It looks as if someone made a repair to the bottom of the lamp glass, by using something like paper mach'e to possibly keep the glass intact at the bottom. It works and looks pretty natural except that the bottom is not perfectly round as you can see, and I have pictured. The bottom of the shade is hard to notice as it's usually not at eye level, and the shape of the shade hides the bottom. This is just the glass only. There is a bit of paint smear around the repair on the glass that could probably be scraped off. It is 4" across the bottom. It's a gorgeous piece of glass, with no maker marks ... moreso I don't know who designed it. On Feb-04-14 at 18:25:52 PST. Which will grace any living room beautifully. We believe it is from the 1900's or 20's. L&F Moreau were two brothers who were part of the Moreau dynasty of sculptors from Dijon France. L&F Moreau were perhaps best known for creating highly ornate clocks and garniture sets in both bronze and spelter. The L stands for Louis Auguste(1855-1919) known for bronzes and metal sculptures. Antique Art Nouveau Newal Post Figural Lamp w Original Torch Flame Shade Moreau?
I purchased this gorgeous lamp from an antique store in Tampa. Florida during the early 1990's. I was told by the owner that it was from the 1920's or earlier, and was also told that the flash glass shade was worth just as much as the lamp. The lamp stands 34" in height including the globe. The base measures about 7" square. It is made of spelter or white metal. I originally purchased the lamp with the following issues and have done nothing to correct them as I prefer to keep my antiques as found. Or have them professionally repaired. 1) Several areas where the bronze paint of the lamp have been scraped showing the base metal. All of the issues with the paint have been photographed and are shown in the item's images I have posted. 2) Some very small areas of missing paint from inside the flash glass globe. I always burned ... morea red bulb in the lamp. So this was never visible. 3) It appears that at one time the post to the torch may have been attached to the figures head. but it is still sturdy unattached. 4) The lamp should probably be rewired. For the entire time I have owned the lamp I had to play with the switch which is located on the leg of the base to turn it on. And always left it burning, but to err on the side of caution, it would be better to have it rewired. In the last picture of the base there are some markings that I can not determine. But I see and F and an L and an M. I have always wondered if this is a Moreau piece. The base is very French looking in origin. Ausguste Moreau Lamp - Le Education de L'amour
This lamp is a signed Auguste Moreau bronze. Electric lamp that has 3 light sockets. As you can see from the photographs it is"lesson of love" Le Education de L'amour) It has a wonderful patina that reflects its age. I have not cleaned off the lamp's dust because I don't want to potentially damage it, I wanted to maintain its appearance. I will let the buyer take on that chore. I saw some hints online that indicate it was manufactured in the 1920s. I read that by looking at the light sockets and seeing what type they are, I might be able to verify the lamps age.
