This is a gorgeous antique classical hand painted Sevres style lamp with a scene on the front of beautiful french girl student with her music instructor watching on intently as she practices cello. The reverse is a gold on gold floral cartouche design and it displays elegant swan handles! The base piece measures 4" tall. The urn alone measures another 12" and the entire piece to the top finial measures almost 28" tall! It is in excellent condition and works. No chips. Cracks, or repairs. Has some minor gold loss as shown. The shade is not include. Please review all pictures as they are part of the description and feel free to ask questions. This most unusual lamp of the years just before WWII is molded and hand carved with forms borrowed from neoclassical tradition including a stylized female bust and handled urn. Perhaps inspired by an early American Jenny Linde flask. It has designs on both sides.
