Beautiful Vintage Solid (30 lb) Marble and Brass Standing Floor Electric Lamp
You are bidding on a beautiful marble and brass floor lamp. Very very heavy piece weighing almost 30 pounds. Lamp itself measures from top of harp to bottom of base 62" height base measures 11" square. The very top part is a hard plastic but the rest is solid marble and brass. Due to the age of the lamp the finish on the marble is flaking off but an easy fix. The base itself has no cracks that you can feel from the outside there are some streaking that looks like it it could be a crack but its inner and this would have to be a manufacturer flaw but again it could just be the streaks in the marble itself. The marble on the top of the base does have a crack. But its not a thru and thru, the piece cracked but is still stable on the base itself) The sides of the marble on the base looks like it has some discoloration from probably the ... moreglue they used to hold the pieces together but shows no cracking. As I previously said the discoloration is mainly the top coat over the marble on the base flaking off. I probably went overboard with the description but I want buyer to be aware of any and all flaws. None of these flaws hurts the integrity of this lamp it is absolutely beautiful. The shade will not come with the lamp it does have a rip in it. For the utmost protection I will have the lamp professionally packed and a special box made for it. It will be shipped via fedex ground directly to your door insured with direct signature required. Fedex has proven to be the safest way I have found to ship. Italy in the 1940's and shipped to a wealthy socialite in New York. From the Art Nouveau era circa 1918. The 6' 2" floor lamp was puported to have been owned by a fashion industry baroness. The entire piece is hand carved and polished by artisans no longer trained in this craft. Great attention to the baby pink folds in the alabaster dress with etching to the hem. The molds were sold to a company in Canada. It would seem that the hand was broken and mended. The lamp that the lady was carrying is stained glass and the color is amber and blue.
